  1. Hi my October Sleevers' date=' I was sleeved on October 30th, I have to say it was not an easy transition, I was sooooooooo nauseaous, and was vomiting blood for the first day, I was given so many nausea medicines that I had a reaction to them, I left the hospital last night and was feeling great, but I can't seem to get any fluids into me I am using a small medicine cup and each swallow brings a full feeling in my new sleeve. Has anybody noticed that getting in the liquids is very hard. I would rather not put anything in my mouth for fear of pain and fullness.[/quote']

I was sleeved on October 18th and was nauseous and dry heaving in th beginning. It will get better, I'm still afraid to put yo much in my sleeve to quickly. I would rather have a good healing around my suture line. It is getting better and as much as I would love flavor drinks my stomach prefers Water. :( I've had trouble getting my fluids in to. The fear of a leak keeps me in a good place. I will contine to work hard on getting my fluids in. God Bless and I know you will get better as time goes on.

  2. I prefer to limit my exposure to 2 of 4 siblings' date=' my wife and daughter. However, not sure how I will avoid telling my boss and coworkers without devising an elaborate lie. My plan has been to tell them I having hernia surgery but I hate to lie.

Excited, confused, and a little scared.

It's none of your co-workers/bosses business. I didn't tell my employer anything; except what days I needed of. My manager approved my days because I asked well in advance. I was sleeved October 18th, 2013. I'm still off; but honestly I could've gone back in a week. I just took the days off; even though I felt great. Hoping you can decide; although I feel telling your wife is plenty. I only told my son. Good Luck

  3. Hi all - I was able to come home last night - felt soooooo good to sleep in my own bed. I'm still tired n doze off every now and again but am feeling pretty good considering. One question - how long post op until you all had a bowel movement? Did u need anything to help you pass it? Oops guess that was 2 questions - pls let me know :)

I didn't have to have anything, you're not getting much solid food in. I started having gas/flatus about 3 days out; so as a Registered Nurse I knew I was okay. Took about a week before I hand a very small BM. Hope this helps.

  4. I was sleeved on October 18th, 2013 in Tijuana, MX. I returned to the States on October 22nd, 2013; I got on the scale the very next day and noticed I was 228. That was 6 pounds down since surgery; the strange thing to me is this I was eating very little (I still am), but the scale hadn't moved since October 23rd, 2013. NOT EVEN AN OZ!!!!. I just weighed myself right before doing this entry and my weight is 225 pounds; it took another 9 days before the scale moved. I don't know if I should be happy or sad; because I feel somewhat disappointed. How are things with most of you and yes I know some of you guys haven't been sleeved that long.

    Have a great day.

  5. It's very hard, but it's something that you really want. You have to put into play how much you really want this and want's more important. I know you want that discomfort from you knees to go away. On the other hand, thank God you have a doctor that's more interested in your safety. I know sticking to a certain amount of calories is hard, I'll say a prayer for you. Try to do low carb dieting/ Atkins or South Beach. I have faith that you can do it.

    Good Luck to you.

  6. Just woke up - the day has come and it's time to get ready to head to the hospital. Need to be there at 715am for a 915am surgery. Excited and nervous (I've never had surgery before) but I know all will be great! May God bless everybody being sleeved today for a smooth procedure and a quick recovery!! :)

Prayers to you. Praying you have a smooth recovery. God bless.

  8. After weighing myself today i am proud to say I am down 78 lbs since May 10' date=' 2013. Since the surgery on 10/14/13 i'm losing about 1.5 to 2lbs per day. Increible![/quote']

Hey I see you gave lost 78 pound since May. I was sleeved on October 18th, 2013. You seem to be losing about 15 pounds a month. Will you share some of your meal plans; ie things You're eating/drinking.

  9. All prepped up; labs done, ekg done, chest xray done. I've talked to the follow up after care doctor she was really great and informative. Dr. Garcia has even performed a gastric bypass on her and she looks fabulous. I've got my IV and my fluids are going. Consents have been signed, weight and height taken. Just waiting for Dr. Garcia and his team to get started doing surgeries. There's four of us here for Dr Garcia two revisions from lap band 2 sleeve and 2 sleeves. I will be having a sleeve done for the first time; not sure what order they will be doing our surgeries in. I'm in room 14. I was told that the first surgery will not be done until 3 p.m. Its almost one o'clock here. Gonna try to take a nap and sleep some of my anxiety off. I'll keep you guys posted.

  10. I'm sitting here in my hotel room in Las Vegas waiting for my hubs to get ready and I found these 2 pics. One is from an ugly sweater xmas party I had in 2011. I was probably around my heaviest of 332 give or take. The close ups are a year apart. Last October and today. Currently still 234. My goal is 165.

I just can't believe where I am today. This has been a ride. I know it's not all about looks however I have to say I'm Rockin this sleeve. Sitting here crying. Just can't believe it.

Yes, you are rocking the hell out of that sleeve. Rock On Girl, because you ROCK.
