No I don't think I am in the green... definitely noticing a difference with this second fill though. Not in terms of restriction but what I can eat and how I eat it. bread has become a little difficult to pass through the band but I have adjusted to it. My doc only puts in 1cc per fill so I'm now at 6cc in a 14cc band.

    Ah this sounds good.
I had my first fill yesterday. I had 4ml when I had my surgery and then another 1ml put in yesterday. I didnt feel a thing, I couldnt believe it when she said she was all done!
i had forgotten how hard liquids are though, I hate milkshakes and have had Soup for lunch and tea today. My energy feels quite low. Looking forward to the mushy diet tomorrow and friday, but cant wait for normal food on Saturday.
They were really pleased with my weight loss though, and I just hope I don't feel as hungry when I start proper food on Saturday.
Onwards and upwards. Good Luck everyone

Ok bandsters.. after a day of needles with dental surgery in the morning and my first fill in the afternoon, I can tell you that I almost didn't feel a thing when the doc put the needle in my port! My port is 1 inch below my largest incision, and he took about 30 seconds to find it. It was the tiniest little pinch as the needle went in, and then I didn't feel a thing! But I do have the say, the needle is HUGE. I started to sweat when I saw it but it really was nothing. And the good news was I am only on liquids for today. Tomorrow I can go back to normal food. Yay!! My doc seemed very surprised though when he asked me if I had been hungry and I said yes.. Hmmm. According to his scales I had lost 3lbs in the two weeks since I saw him last, but according to my scales, I have stayed the same. But I have since realised that his assistant weighed me with the shoes on a fortnight ago, and he weighed me without my shoes. So I'm fairly confident it was my shoes that lost 3lbs!!! I have felt a little less hungry since the fill but I think that could be just my head telling my tummy to do better now I've had a fill

Well I had my second fill today and doc put another 1cc in, bringing me to a total of 6cc's. I was also pleased to see there was nothing wrong with my scales lol and his scales showed a 40lb loss since I started pre-op. I'm very happy to see things finally turning around

Thanks ladies for all of your words of wisdom! It does help!!
Guess I should go ahead and schedule that fill. After all - whats the point in having the band if I am not going to utilize it to its full potential.
Is it weird that I get sad sometimes when I cant eat more? Guess that's the food addict in me. I think secretly (well - not so much now) that is why I haven't scheduled another fill. Fill = less food. Boo . Guess that is my fat kid coming back out...

Well I've been trying to avoid getting on the scales everyday but after yesterday's 1 1/2lb loss I got on again this morning (I think just to make sure the loss was still there lol) and I was down another 2lbs! What is that all about?!?! It's like my body finally realized that's its not being starved and can let go of some fat!!!
    How is everyone doing??

Once you hit your sweet spot. You will be dropping again like crazy. I wanted to just keep losing at the rate I was but it has obviously slowed down. I get a fill tomorrow. I hope it helps.

Bandsters my weight still hasn't shifted either! It seems to be really common amongst most of the banded at this time. I'm hoping the fill I'm having next week will turn it around. I don't have any real restriction yet at 4cc's so hopefully if I keep getting fills I will be seeing that sweet spot soon! I've had a couple of bad days but have been trying hard to eat well and exercise. It's hard to keep the motivation up when the scales keep showing the same number but I keep taking it a day at a time.

I haven't posted for a while but thought I would check in to see how everyone is. How is everyone's progress post op? Tomorrow I Celebrate my 1 month bandiverversary! I went for my 1 month check up today. I am very happy with my progress so and so is my doc. I am down 7 lbs in 3 weeks - 33 total. My energy level is increasing and I am now on my normal post op diet. My doctor is saying I am doing very well and he is not recommending that we fill the band at this time. I am feel I have made a great decision, seeing it all work the way it should. Thanks to all my fellow bandsters for your support! Keeping onward and upward!

Stress has the worst effect on your body. Good on you for recognizing that this job is not going to help your weight loss journey. I have learnt the hard way that my happiness and health are more important than any job. I was in a very stressful job for the last two years and aghhh if momma ain't happy.. Ain't nobody happy! I was so glad to be able to let it go. We don't have as many $ coming into the house each week but I have more time and energy for my kids, myself, my hubby, and my house! Good luck with the job hunting!

How does your plan for you going?
Mentally handicapped children is also a pretty demanding job. I use to work or should I say volunteer at a nonprofit org that only cater to mentally handicapped adults. I would read to them and try to teach them new words. I didn't do it for long. They ran short of money and had to let my dh go. He was their computer all around man. Soon after we moved about an hour away. It was rewarding in so many ways. Now we take one woman age 30 when we have our gdaughter age 13 and take them on day trips with us. They're a joy to have around. They get along marvelously. Terri (handicapped) acts 10 but she's the mothering type. Julie gdaughter reads to her when they aren't out playing. Terri is in love with life especially when she gets to come with us.

You'll do great. Take it an hour at a time. Don't try to do everything all by yourself. You'll find yourself getting stronger each day in what you need to do. I have faith in you. You've been there right by my side with alot of encouragement. You're strong...don't doubt yourself now.

A family member of mine who was banded and lost 135lbs told me that bcuz you lose so much so fast in the beginning your body will eventually start to hold onto the fat/calories etc and no longer allow itself to burn off fat in order to self preserve. She said it takes time for body to realize it will continue to be fed and doesn't need to hold onto what it's consuming.
