    5 Days Post Op!

Fluids are difficult to get in, I feel like I'm constantly drinking!! I'm also getting diarrhea from my shakes so I'm trying to find a new brand. My incisions have been very sore, making up and down movements hard. It has been getting better each day for me, I hope it will continue to get better for you!!
  2. Snowy here too!! If I wasn't still so fresh post op shoveling would have been a great cardio workout! Thank you for sharing all of your awesome things today, it helps me stay motivated to see others succeed. Stay warm out there

Anyone Else Cold All The Time?

Yes!! I hate being hot, and always had my air turned up or heat turned down. Today I swear I complained it was cold 100 times. It was chilly in the house but I notice I sweat less and get over heated less as soon as my pre op started.

    1 1/2 Months Out

Love that sassy, " I feel good" look in your new pic. You look great!!
  6. I am currently 6 days out from surgery, on a clear liquid diet until tomorrow, then I am on full liquids. I am having a problem with my Protein shake, it is giving me diarrhea, and also is very thick. I am watering it down, but it is way too much for me to drink in one setting. I have been researching the GNC protein shots, which have 42 grams a shot, I am required to do 60 grams a day at this point. I do not want to veer from his plan, and I want to find my protein in a liquid form until my stomach is ready to transition. I want to know if anyone has tried them, or if they are a bad idea. Thank you!
  7. Thank you for posting! You look amazing, I appreciate your inspiring words!!

    Protein Shots

Thank you all for your words of wisdom. I did look into the shots, too good to be true. I ended up trying a different protein powder that's thinner. Much easier to get down. Thanks everyone!

    Post-Op Cravings!

I am also having a hard time with head hunger. I told my parents about it (I'm staying with them post op) and now when I say, "I'm hungry" they both ask, well head hunger or actual hunger? Having to answer the question and talk it out is helping me. I'm having the toughest time with Mexican right now. I find keeping hydrated and really focusing on what I can eat is helping. I'm also keeping myself busy during peak eating times before the sleeve. I'm hoping I will get more done, as well as change my habits. I'm also in school too, I understand the eating/stress/study thing all gets mingled together. My very long point is, focus on what you can eat, stay busy and loom forward to all the healthy changes and choices you will have when you can eat solids again!

    On The Orher Side!

Awesome news!! So glad everything went ok. Will continue to pray for a speedy recovery!
  12. Look at it this way, you went with your guy and answered the questions honestly, that's exactly what they want!! Same thing happened to me, and I actually asked the doctor if I did something wrong. He told me no, they want you to answer honestly, and for some it takes a lot less time. I wouldn't worry, and congratulations on getting through the test and how far you have come!
  13. Totally understand how you are feeling. The day of my surgery, I burst into tears twice, once when I had to change into my gown, and the second when my surgeon came to talk to me before surgery. I'm sure the staff thought I was insane!! It's such a roller coaster of emotions to go through, just allow yourself to feel them, it's a huge change!! It's normal to feel all of these things, and you will continue to feel them a long your journey, but something cool also happens a long the way, you learn about yourself and your emotional health. It's tied to all of this weight loss, and knowing ourselves helps us to get back in control of things. Don't fret, you will be awesome!!

    Clothes

I wear scrubs the most as well, thank god for elastic banding in them!! I'm hoping to be able to wear them a little longer than normal clothing As I lose. We have to wear a certain color, and my hospital gives us a stipend for them each year, I just hope I don't have to spend a ton on them in the next year, those buggers can be expensive!!
  15. Keep up your positive attitude, you can do this!!!!

  18. Sending you lots of prayers and wishes of peace as you wait!! Waiting stinks, hoping for calm and contentment until you hear.

    Omg! Head Hunger!

First of all, I think it's great you understand what triggers you to eat and you are working on that behavior. I also discovered on my pre op diet how much I would eat when I was bored, sad, happy, angry, you name it. I was so frustrated with myself, it's like I didn't know how to deal deal with it if I couldn't eat. I'm a few days post op and I am dealing with head hunger, especially last night and today. You will get through this, and you will know so many things about yourself. I think it's wonderful you are finding things you can snack on that won't derail your end goal. You can do this, I believe in you!!!!!!!!!!

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Welcome!! I was so nervous, burst into tears twice in the holding area. This is such a big decision, we all should feel a touch nervous so don't worry!! I felt better upon waking and getting moving, I know I did the right thing! Rely on others here, you will be at your surgery date in no time

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

My surgeon required one before surgery, and one the day after then I didn't have to do anymore!

    Anybody Else Cheating?

I am not qualified to tell you what you are doing is right, or wrong, mainly because this is new to me as well, I am only 3 days post op. BUT I can say for me, it isn't a question of what can I get away with, it's what can I learn from this situation? I know what "what can I do early, what can I get away with?" has gotten me, obese. I have learned much about myself in a short amount of time, the first being, I am worth it to do better for myself. To follow the pre op diet, and now the post op. Have I had moments of weakness where I think, oh I can just sneak that and it won't matter, yes I have. The difference for me is, I haven't done it. After going through such a life altering surgery, I just want to do the right thing this time. I want to learn why I eat what I do, and when I do, and how I can cope with my emotions without food. I want to follow directions and not push it. I am not saying you can't do what you want, but don't you owe it to yourself to do the best you can? Just my two cents

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

12/2 surgery here. Doing well at home. Belly button incision and left incision are sore, otherwise moving around a lot. My stomach/intestines are making some awful noises with all of the air in there. Taking Gas-X and walking as much as I can. Trying to get all my protein and water in, feeling better each day!
  24. Morning of surgery is here. I am off to the hospital. I am so nervous!!
