port revision and Six Flags Death

I had not heard about the Six Flags lady. I dont know how large she was or any details. But I do know the last time I went to an amusement park I went on a roller coaster and SQUEEZED into it. Well guess what it popped loose while riding. Luckily there was another safety measure that kept my bar from coming completely loose. It was a terrifying experience.

    Being REALISTIC

I think most people who complain about only losing 25 pounds are including weight they lost from pre-op which can be sometimes around 20 pounds. I know before surgery I lost 18 pounds and I include that in my total weight loss, so they might not be losing as much as it seems.

    TALKING STOMACH AND DIET

I had liquids for 2 weeks. I had Clear Liquids for 10 days and full liquids for 4 days. The pureed food for 1 week, then mushy food for 1 week and soft food 1 week. Now on normal food. I started experiencing hunger after the first week and I stayed hungry up until week 4 when I started eating soft food.

    TRIPE

Tripe is an animals stomach lining
  13. There are a couple people who are losing with no fill (except what they put in during surgery). I think I've seen it more with those who had plication with their band than those who didnt. I'm losing currently without a fill but i'm hungry in between meals.

    This CANNOT be happening :0

I am at week 6 now. I did not lose anything from week 2 - 4. Now I am losing approx 2 pounds a week. No fill yet. And this week because of that TOM coming I actually gained 5 pounds. But as soon as it ended it went away. Dont be discouraged!

    Things are looking up!

This post will jump around and might be confusing but I got lots to mention over the past 2 weeks! So last I posted some days ago. I was put on a new Antibiotic. Well its working!!!! :::: cue streamers, dancers, strobe light:::: Looking at it today I estimate it will be healed by next week I got the abdominal support. Awkward. I look pregnant and it makes me feel pregnant and I only wear it around the house. LoL I am completely moved into my new place! I didn't have to lift much - my mom would slap me with her eyes every time I did (like only my mother can do). And I love it. We are on the 3rd floor, so much more space and a 24 hr gym My poor dog FLIPPED out at the wooden floor. He had to be practically dragged up the stairs. But after 3 days he is good now. As far as my band goes. I am doing better. I am no longer counting calories but making good calorie decisions. I found I obsess when I count the calories instead of eating when i'm hungry and just remembering portion size. I do not not count carbs either. And I'm losing I weighed 248 going into surgery. I am now at 233. All with no fill. I am happy especially since I didnt loose anything from week 2-4. I lost 5oz during that time to be exact lol. Looking at my weight history this means I weighed this much back in 2009. That makes me excited. Soon I will be how much I weighed in high school As far as food. I can eat anything it seems like. No problem getting stuck, not one. I can not eat berries plain. I tried eating strawberries and raspberries, that didn't sit well, but I can eat them on cereal or yogurt. Gulping water (which i've done accidentally) didn't hurt either. I have been dealing with pain in my abdomen. Not where my band or port is but on my right side. Its odd. Some episodes of nausea. Some of this I have to give credit to my gastroparesis, it causes random and unexplained pain. Now I am ready for a fill. I feel encouraged. I am losing weight with no fill but I am hungry every 2 - 3 hours. I think with a fill I will be on a great track. I am going to tell my doc I dont think it will take much. I am amazed at how much my stomach is adjusting to lesser amount of food over time. Doc appt on Tuesday, we will see what they say about...welll....everything :::continues to party with strobe lights and streamers::::

So long size 20... Hello size 16!

Congrads You should be so proud! I avoid shopping too. My clothes are limited because I cant fit anything, even plus size clothes fit me weird because of my body shape. Hope things change for me soon like they have for you
  18. Eating healthy on a budget. Almost impossible. I am ready to go back to work and bring home the "bacon"

    Eating out

I have found planning ahead works best. I am a little OCD so I made a "to-go" food Chart. I looked at the the nutrition for everything on the menu for like 10 different resturants. If it is was 300 cal or less I added it. (or for a larger meal 600 and split it in half to take home). It has helped alot with keeping my calories within a certain limit. And by looking ahead you can know what is offered before hand instead of second guessing.
  20. I agreed with tiger however, you are only 3 weeks out of surgery and eating anything other than your diet food might hurt you. Chips are hard and could do damage to your stomach. Everyone else is hungry at this time too. I am currently 5 weeks out with no fill and im hungry but you gotta keep keeping on

    Shrinking your liver.

You liver is very large and in order to perform the surgery safely with laparoscopy your liver needs to shrink enough that the can maneuver the medical instruments around your abdominal cavity. If it does not shrink it they might not do the surgery.
  22. I had phlegm after I started eating food again. Went away after a couple days.
  23. Couldnt agree more with this post. I am one of those people where if I'm truly craving something I will eat much more food than if I was to have a small taste of what I was craving. You just cant have cravings everyday
  24. I dont know if I could be considered a 'mentor' since i'm younger and only 6 weeks banded. BUT I AM A TEACHER. Elementary Art. Im 24, I also live my boyfriend and dog but no kids. I will gladly be there as a friend / support.
