  1. I have to look into this Chike stuff you are talking about. Sounds good to me. The Coffee is normally on Amazon for a lot cheaper than it is on the Chike site (plus free shipping for Prime members). Today it's $27.95 on Amazon but $32.95 on the Chike website. The other flavors are much cheaper on the Chike website. Tubs are $26.95 ea. and get cheaper when you buy 2. Amazon sellers act like the other flavors are made out of gold and charge extreme prices. They sell a sample pack for under $10 of all their flavors. I got that to start out with and got hooked. I first heard about Chike from "The World According To Eggface" WLS blogger. She makes all kinds of stuff with their protein powders and her recipes always turn out great.
  2. I've had both and spent thousands on each. Unfortunately laser hair removal does not work at all on light hair colors (red, blonde, very light brown, white, grey). My upper lip was 90% blonde/red and laser doesn't work at all on that. My chin hair was thicker but more white. Some of it was like bristle. It was awful. Laser doesn't do a thing for it. And no matter what they tell you when you go in, you are looking at about an 85% permanent hair reduction rate with laser. I went to a medical spa (doctor) to have mine done, and it was very pricey. Twelve 1 hour monthly visits for full leg, underarm, full bikini and toes and I still have to spend a few hundred a year to have new areas / regrowth zapped. Don't go to anyone but a doctor to have laser because they won't be carrying enough insurance if anything goes wrong. I'm still happy I got it done because my leg hair was so dark, but you do have to keep touching it up unless you are really lucky.

    I blew it

You did it once, you know what you did and why and you don't plan on making a habit out of it. Everyone cracks once in a while. It's being able to admit what you did and not making delusional excuses about it that saves you from the slippery slope of "ok, it happened" from turning into "it's a habit". Hope your mom recovers quickly.

    1,000 calories a day & not losing

Belviq would be much better than Phentermine if you absolutely have to have something to get your mind off food while you get it back together. You have got to kick the bad carbs, log every bite BEFORE you put it in your mouth and pay for a few sessions with a personal trainer to get some routines set up that will do what needs to be done weight loss wise.
  5. I have a Chike coffee Protein shake every single morning. It tastes wonderful. On the weekends I have Marley (as in Bob) Garden of Life Raw Fit Coffee or Spiced vanilla Chai for a quick lunch. Also delicious. Not quite as delicious as Chike and all their fabulous flavors, but nice for variety if I don't feel like tossing some fruit in to a Chike strawberry, Orange Creme, banana, etc. I use my blender and add ice. Comes out like a real shake.

    Food is not appealing

It's part of the process. Some days I'm meh about food and eat to live and other days I'm all OMG pecan crusted tilapia for dinner! Can't wait!
  7. Probably not. Electrolysis is the answer. I went weekly for a year and bi-weekly for another year. Problem solved. Any strays that appear once in a while I just tweeze.

Stalking is a criminal activity and not at all funny. I'd like to know why you found it appropriate to say this. Website user disagrees with other website user is not even in the same universe of conduct as stalking.

lol, yeah because everyone knows the best way to treat stomach acid is with hot fudge and french fries instead of calling your doctor. You are only fooling yourself.

I wanna sandwich- 5 weeks out

Bread pretty much doesn't exist for me any more, but I did keep a pack of these around when I was off bread but still working on killing the cravings: http://www.shoprite.com/pd/Bauducco/Toast-Whole-Wheat/5-64-oz/875754000152/ They are 105 calories and 17 carbs for 3 pieces. I make my sandwiches by wrapping tofurkey up in a slice of cheese or lettuce and making a wrap of it.

    Unsolicited Online Dating Advice

If you think Gary's ad is "perfect" .... there are really no words. He was looking for a hot part-time sex partner in exchange for gifts and vacations. Mentally healthy people who want an actual relationship want to be able to imagine where they would fit in and be compatible with someone and not be stepping into a plot or role that someone else has written, or in this case literally dictated, for them.

    Has everyone had WLS?

When I was in the hospital, my nurse told me she had RNY and the radiologist told me both he and his wife had been sleeved.
  13. I'm also in NNJ looking to do a LBL/tummy tuck, breast lift, arms and now upper thighs. Lipo too. I want to do my face in the USA. These are all the same surgeons I am looking at! I now have weird skin puddling/rippling - not in my underarms but where the sides of my bra are. Every day I feel like what's next? I'm going to be putting on my shoes and my toe skin is going to be loose too? lol

And the point is flying right over your head. I too had post-surgical acid and turned to my surgeon .... who prescribed Omeprazole, not french fries and hot fudge. Your friend has been there and done that already. She has hit goal and knows where the slippery slopes are. She's not jealous. She's fully aware that the pounds come off with no effort on your part at this point. She's been there already. You are free to do what you want, and if you think making excuses for french fries at a week out from surgery is the way to go ... have at it. I agree with your friend. You are setting yourself up. You could have had more Water instead. What you are doing in the first few months after surgery is setting up your new lifestyle for the rest of your life. Most of us work our little treats into our life. I worked out extra at the gym today (and will every day this week) so I could "bank" for something special this weekend. It's not a bad thing in and of itself. What is bad is the food choices and the fact that it was so soon after surgery. You are setting yourself up for trouble.

If you are a little over a week out from surgery and already hitting the french fries and hot fudge .... your friend isn't "projecting". She's trying to nip things in the bud and help you out. When you are six months out and want to eat two french fries as an occasional treat, you will be able to handle it. Right now you are just continuing the bad habits that got you to the point where you needed surgery to begin with.

I thought you meant something along the lines of Ensure, not a Vitamin pill, lol.

    Excess skin?

Yes, I do. My arms are literally twice the size they should be because of the skin. I have handfuls of loose skin from my breastbone to my groin. I posted a photo of that in the plastic surgery forum. I have to wear oversized tops and loose sweaters and sweatshirts to hide it. The only place I'll let it fly is at my gym because it's owner by a former Mr. Olympia and most of the members are hardcore weightlifters, bodybuilders and MMA/UFC fighters. It's like working out next to a bunch of Rocky's. Best atmosphere ever. Really old school. I work out with a personal trainer three hours a week, and the rest of the week on my own. The only real fix for this is plastic surgery. I want to lose about 20 lbs more before I start plastics in Mexico.
  20. How much time do you spend analyzing other peoples plates, what and how much they are eating and how fast they chew? That's how much attention they are going to be paying to you - hardly any at all. I eat out a lot. I always end up with a doggie bag. If anyone comments that I didn't eat very much I say "I had a huge lunch. Now I have lunch for tomorrow too!" and move on. It's just small talk. They don't really care. I wait until I get home to have post-meal liquids.

    Calories

Your supplement has calories too. At five weeks out I don't remember exactly how many calories I was eating, but I would guesstimate it was around 500 calories a day.

    need good scale suggestions

Your scale isn't "off". You aren't supposed to weight yourself repeatedly (or any other object weighing exactly the same) on a home digital scale repeatedly. You have to wait at least five minutes between readings. Even when the display goes off, it's still going. If you don't want to wait five minutes, you could take the battery out, which would reset the scale, but that whole process would probably take you five minutes anyway. Why do you need to weigh yourself three times in a row? Is it OCD? If it's OCD, a scale with a dial would be a much better choice for you. You can hop on and off of one of those 10, 20, 30 times in a row and see the exact same results over and over if you want.

Yes, search for "3 week stall". You will see hundreds of posts about it. Most of us have had this happen.

Parting With My "Love" for Food

I've said this before and I'll say it again: There will not be a food Rapture while you are in surgery. Delicious food will still exist when you are wheeled out of the operating room. When you get farther along you can work small portions of your favorites in.
