    I can still eat???

How did you manage to lose all that weight? I need some suggestions.
  2. I have been scheduled 2 weeks before my surgery for lab work and history and physical exams. Does anybody know what's involved, like what kind of test are they running? I'm just a little curious, it also happens too be the same day that I am scheduled to start my pre-op.

    Desperately need some help

I just read the article, I hope all is well, Davies said some pretty good stuff and I agree 100%. Everything will work out for the best, keep looking for the silver lining, start with the fact that you were able to pay for the surgery, then look at the fact that you came through with minimal complications, then focus on the fact that you have jump started your weight loss and now you've gathered enough courage to go to the hospital, which means is all going to get better from this point on. As someone else stated check with your insurance company to see what they cover and do one more, give the hospital your insurance information and let them process the claim for payment. Keep your spirits up and everything will work out fine. We are here for you. Keep us posted.

    Ladydi

I understand where you are coming from. I will be starting my pre-op on June 1st. I was advised by my Doctor to drink to replace 2 meals a day with a Protein shake and eat a dinner entree like lean cuisine, etc. I can also have sugar free drinks like chrystal lite, etc., sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello. I'm starting a few days early to prepare myself for what's to come. I did the Slim Fast diet years ago so I know I can do it but I'm allowing myself a few extra days to adjust. Good Luck! Keep me posted on your progress. :clap2::clap2:

    Soon to be banded

I can understand your concern with the port pain but keep in mind that it will be well worth it in the end. I am starting my pre-op on June 1st instead of the 6th which is the date my Doctor gave me, just to try to lose a couple extra pounds for myself. I am excited about the surgery too with the exception of the tube being placed down my throat but I will be sleep and my husband said he will be with me all the way so that helps. Did you try those sugar fee pops I've been reading about? Check out the Pre-op and Post op diet forum they had a few extra items listed. Keep me posted on your progress.
  6. I will be starting my pre-op diet on June 1st, my surgery is June 21st and I want to lose a few pounds. Can anyone offer me some tips on getting the scale to move in the right directions during my Pre-Op?:help:
  7. I have to drink 2 healthy shakes a day and eat either a salad, fish or protein and veggies for 2 weeks before the diet to shrink my liver. They didn't say anything to me about any weightloss though. I want to lose a few pounds on my own before surgery though, any good tips would be appreciated.

    Mexican Bandsters- Need Advice

Don't be worried. Throughout this site, I've seen numerous articles of people having their surgery in different locations, do a background search. Don't let others discourage you, try to find you a new support group within your family and friends, it seems like you may have chosen the wrong one's originally. If you can' find support their then find a support group at lapband.com in your area. Good Luck!

    Journey to BandLand

Hello Tracy I understand completely. My surgery is scheduled for May 3 2007 and I am so excited. I have my husband and two teenage daughters backing me. Like you I haven't told anyone at work about the operation. I read somewhere about a breathing tube, have you heard anything about that? I have gone as far as to look at the live operation on line. Has your doctor discussed the pre op diet with you?

My surgery is May 3 2007

I am scheduled to have my surgery May 3 2007. I have been to see the nutrionist and the Psychologist now I'm just waiting. I have read a lot about a Pre-op diet, my Doctor hasn't mentioned this to me yet, will this be sprung on me at some point. I want to go through that phase because I feel I need it and a lot of people seem to have shed some pounds before surgery. Is it fare to say that on an average I can expect to lose around 2 lbs a week after surgery. I walk about 2 miles a day.
