    MONTHLY CHALLENGE Awesome august banders!

Weighed in at 233.6 this morning which means I'm down 2.4 lbs in September. May not sound like much but after 2 weeks of no change I will totally take it, y'all! Hope everyone else is doing good!!

    MONTHLY CHALLENGE Awesome august banders!

I've had no weight loss at all in the week and a half since I moved to mushies. It's pretty frustrating, especially when I'm not allowed my usual diet "staples" like grilled chicken and salad. I'm going to keep trying to up the protein and water and work on getting more exercise, and just keep waiting for the number on the scale to move! In a positive direction!
  4. Hey ya'll, got a question...since moving to mushies last Wednesday, I have not lost one ounce. I weigh exactly the same as I did then even though I'm eating practically nothing (less than 800 calories/day). Is it common to "plateau" at this point? It's kind of frustrating considering I was losing really well up to now. Any thoughts?

    Crushed!

I had the same feeling before surgery, reading about all the happy people on the site. It was such a waiting game with the insurance and doctor's office anyway - none of this happens quickly for anyone! One thing I did while waiting was to sort of pretend that I'd already been banded. Like, what would I be doing differently now if I had my band? Eat smaller meals, get more protein, chew well, etc. Even though I didn't lose much doing this, it got me in the mindset and every pound I lost pre-band is just as good as the ones I've lost since surgery. I think we start to see actually "getting" the band as the day everything starts, when really, so much of this is a mental game that starts well before surgery. Just keep your chin up and keep doing the things that will put you on the road to your goal, then when you get the band it will be like icing on the (metaphorical) cake!

I am ready for my energy level to pick up. Now that I can have pureed foods I'm really trying to up the protein. Taking a chewable multivitamin and B12. I barely have the energy to do anything after I get home from work and I am in bed by 9 pm every night which is a first for me! Hopefully we can all get some rest over the long weekend.

I just got back from my one-week follow-up with my surgeon. I'm happy to report that I have lost 8 lbs. since surgery and 20 overall since starting pre-op diet. My only problems are a little pain at my port site and recurring pain in my left shoulder. My dr. said both should resolve within the next week. I'm feeling good and have more energy every day. So far so good!!

  14. Hey everyone, just checking in. This is day 3 post-op and today I woke up feeling almost human. Very little pain, just soreness at the port site. No nausea thank goodness - my doc gave me tons of anti-nausea meds which I guess really did the trick. I'm really tired and want to rest a lot but overall things seem to be going well!

Well , I'm an official bandster! Surgery went great. I'm a little sore but nothing too bad. Have not has pain med since just after surgery. I also had a hiatal hernia repaired so I'm staying overnight in the hospital. Overall I'm thrilled at how well things are going. Fingers crossed that it continues! ???Š
