    Gas Pain post op

Well I hate to be a downer on this but, for some, you may want to just get used to it. My surgery was done almost 10 years ago and I still have gas. Good luck and I hope overcome it. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. I understand your pain. I had the surgery over 10 years ago and had similar reactions. To this day if I eat or drink just a very little bit too much I get sick. This was one of the worst decisions I have ever made. I would recommend to everyone not to have this operation. Want to lose weight? Eat less and exercise. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    END OF MY ROPE

I understand your frustration. If I had it to do again I wouldn’t have the surgery. Having the runs, general discomfort with eating one bite too much and food not tasting as good as it once did. I’ve been hammered for expressing my thoughts but, so be it. I’ve also noticed others that have had the surgery, in a few years, have gained their weight back. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  7. When we go to a restaurant we immediately ask for a takeout box when we order our food. Sometimes I can stretch 3 meals out of it. The meal at the restaurant, evening meal and lunch the next day. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Happens to me also. One bite too much and it’s sick time. I’ve learned now it’s best to throw it away and not tempt fate. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    ACID REFLUX/HEART BURN

Both my wife and I had sleeve surgery in 2013. She has acid reflux constantly and I have sour stomach no matter what I eat. Side effect of the surgery. Not a big fan of sleeve surgery but, too late now. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  11. I’ve learned to cope with the negative side of WLS. I had it in 2013. Sick feeling if I eat one bite too much, the runs, flatulent, taste changes and the rest. Bottom line, at least for me, I would not do it again. I would diet on my own and watch what I eat. Also, I have noticed others that have had surgery, and lost a good deal of weight, have put it back on if they are not careful. Just my feelings. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Lots of gas when I try to drink

You may have to get used to it. I had my sleeve surgery in 2013 and still have constant gas. Good luck. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. My surgery was in 2013. To this day, if I eat one bite too much I get that sick feeling. One must learn not to take that extra bite. You’ll figure it out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Gas after surgery

My sleeve surgery was in 2013. Gas has been a problem ever since. Might not happen with everyone but it has with me. Also more times than not you may have the “runs”. Most times the doctors don’t emphasize the downside of this surgery. Good luck. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Hair Loss

My wife and I had sleeve surgery in 2013. She has experienced a hair loss and thinning of her hair after surgery. I haven’t had a loss of hair but, I can tell it is thinner. We are both in our late 60’s. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Gas Pains After Surgery

I had surgery in 2013. Flatulent is a constant problem ever since. Surgeon said I’d probably have to live with it. Good luck. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Every day since I had surgery. That was in 2013. Constantly have diarrhea, upset stomach, gas, loss of energy and what food I can hold down dosen’t taste good. On the bright side....I did go from 250 pounds to 185 and am keeping it off. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Issues 6 Days Out

I had surgery several years ago. I did lose weight but, for me, I probably would have been better off sticking to a diet. Having gas constantly, upset stomach when having one bite too much, bland foods to eat unless you want to eat antacids, no telling when you will have the runs, if eating out make sure you ask for a take home box and the list goes on. This is just my experience hope it goes better for you.

  21. Some hidden reasons to have WLS....1 limited food choices 2 that sick feeling after taking one bite too much 3 having the "runs" right after eating 4 having "gas attacks" constantly 5 watching yourself and others that have had WLS slowly gain back weight if not careful 6 increase in acid reflux and indigestion. If you enjoy even having the possibilities of these symptoms then go ahead and have WLS. Just my observations. Sent from my RCT6303W87DK using the BariatricPal App
  22. Almost everyone that I know that has had this surgery has put weight back on within a couple of years. Main excuse is they are not committed enough to stay on a maintenance diet. Sent from my RCT6303W87DK using the BariatricPal App

    Regrets?

I decided to visit this site again. My reasons for regretting WLS remain. Digestive issues are the main issue. One bite too much and sick for hours afterward. Over three years out and still battling every day. I have noticed others that have had the surgery put the weight back on. My mistake and I will live with it. Just did not work out for me. May be better for you.

    Dear Sleeve

I hope your recovery gets better. I am several years out and still have problems. The success part is I have lost 65 lb and am able to keep it off. The downside is constant gas, the runs, sudden unexpected urges to go to the bathroom, getting sick from foods I used to enjoy and other minor inconveniences. I have also observed others that have had the surgery a few years before I did, only to gain it all back. Bottom line with me is this....I would diet, use self control and save my money from my surgery for other things. My remarks in the past has brought about scorn from others but, this is my experience. Hope it is better with you.
