That would be a really difficult situation. It is hard when you do not feel supported. Perhaps something that might be helpful for him to understand is to have him visit a lap band doctor with you to ask any questions he might have. Sometimes it just takes getting some information.
About the puréed foods. It is no big deal. It does sound kind if gross, but the amount of time you are actually required to be on puréed foods is relatively short. And, it doesn't have to be abnormal puréed foods. I remember eating a lot of fat free/sugar free Jello, strained Soups, mashed potatoes, etc. when I was post-op. also, Protein shakes, Protein Shakes, Protein shakes!

Something doesn't sound right. I sit alot, at desk and alot of driving. ALOT. And I have never felt pain from port. Is your surgery recent? I would call your doctor. If there is that much pain it is a sign of something not right.

Hi all. I told my son. And he's great with it, always makes sure to get non carbonated drinks for me. But I also didn't keep my band a secret. I'm very proud of my band. Men like tools. And the band is a tool. All I know is. That there was no way I was losing weight on my own . And this helped and worked. So I sing its praises every chance I get. Best of luck.

Hi Georgia. First of all, anything you feel or concerns you is not lame. Know you can talk to some of us about anything. Now, I understand your feelings but have to tell you that you are wrong in this one. Not wrong to feel hurt, you are never wrong about how you feel. And nobody should ever tell you different! But wrong to put too much on this man. He didn't hide anything from you. He didn't lie to you. And you have to remember that he is an individual just like you. I wouldn't take it as a slight that he didn't ask you to this. It's a family dinner. If it were a wedding and he could bring a date but chose not to, that's a slight. This is not. Instead of reading into the negatives, think of the positives. He was honest. He didn't lie. But let him have one night alone with his family. If it continues than say something. But first time? I was told this once and it's stuck with me. Try to hold Water in your hand. If you cup and cradle it you will hold it forever. If you squeeze it too tight it will drain through your fingers and you will lose it. Good luck. And remember, you can talk to us about anything.

I agree with most of the comments here , 4 months is not long in the grand scheme of things!
And I am not out to insult anyone here but you do sound kind of needy! Let him spend time with his family, there will be hundreds of occasions where you will all get together. Don't take it personally that he doesn't want you to meet his brother yet, hey maybe his bro is an ass and he's saving you from him lol or maybe he just wants to ease you into the family bit by bit either way I'm sure it's all good.

i agree with tod and tiny...men would do something like that dinner without a thought in the world..me and my ole man been married 28+yrs, i dont have to go with him everywhere and vice versa...it doesnt seem to be that big of a deal, not to me...so he went out to dinner without you, so what......thats when you call your girlfriends and go out with them and ask and mean it when you say, did you have a good time when you see him.....

You are doing fantastic!!! 10 pounds in three weeks?? over 3 lbs. a week!! You can't hope to do better. I understand what you are thinking. For the most part we've all been there. This will happen. ALOT. You have to remember this, your body is an amazing machine that has the ability to adapt and change to meet its needs. We are like terminators ( which i think is totally cool cause i want to be bad ass like arnold in leather pants.... ummm... i digress). Anyway, our bodies adapt to changes we make. So after a while your body will realize you are eating less, and it will hold on to more of what you put in. Thus causing a weight loss stall. But over time you will start to lose again. food choice is a productive thing. But eat the same thing every day and your body will realize it and be ready for it. Change it up a bit. Have fun (in moderation) and your body will burn through the fat much like the insides of my thighs burn through jeans!!! Best of luck!!!
