I have said a few times here (and even reached out to a few people privately) that I do understand the conflict people have based on their positive experience with him. I had a very positive experience with him as my doctor. And obviously the retraction makes a lot of this hard to swallow for everyone, but especially those that care for and had positive experiences with him. But I do hope people can see that the retraction doesn't even make sense. It's definitely not something to cast aside and ignore, but when looked at in context, is hard to take at face value (even without inside knowledge or proof). And Laura said that she wondered if everyone seeing the evidence would put the issue to rest, and I thought the same thing... I've thought about it a LOT actually, being one of the few people that actually has it in their possession. However, after thinking about it a lot, I came to the same conclusion as Laura did. First, posting the evidence I have would be breaking my own moral code based on promises I made and plan to keep unless it's needed in my own defense (legally or what not), or unless it is specifically requested by the authorities at his company. And second, no matter the evidence, people have gotten so heated here that I know the arguments would continue. Especially since a lot of the arguments don't seem to be mainly focused on whether the story is true or not anymore, but rather, if the punishment fits the crime. So, yes, I understand the hesitation based on personal experience. I actually do. But as people have pointed out, even sexual predators and serial murders can have seemingly normal lives with interactions and relationships that make people doubt their guilt. Is it so hard to believe that a medically qualified and competent doctor could personally be a bit of a cad who let his personal ways bleed into his professional life this once or even from time to time, while still maintaining perfectly appropriate relationships with the majority of patients?!

    Ready4achange Paperwork

I would definitely check back. I think mine was approved by the next day. At the most it was a few days, but definitely less than a week!! Just get in touch with her again!

The **** shaming is by far the most disturbing part of this whole discussion. I've read plenty of disgusting judgmental posts claiming, "she should have kept her legs closed" or "what did she think would happen having sex with a guy 4 days after she met him"... All implying she deserved to used because she was so willing to put out! Where are all these high and mighty women with their posts of disgust that this man hopped into bed with someone after 4 days?! Where is there judgement that he should have kept it in his pants? Why don't any of these women believe that, just like she "got what she deserved" and should be have karma "bite her in the a$$," that perhaps he got what he deserved for hopping into bed with someone so quickly and breaking the rules at work?! People really disgust me. We are SO fast to knock other women down. I get it. He was kind and friendly. I had a good experience with him as my doctor too. But seriously?! Because he was good to you, there's no way he could have used another patient? Come on. So over all this ignorance.

    Marriot popcicles!

Lol I never tried them! Haha but meat was definitely the perceived flavor! Hahaha I heard there were good ones in the gift shop but they didn't have them the one time we caught the gift shop open. The chicken broth though?! Was KILLER! Especially if you squeeze a lime into it!!

    Beware! woman traveling to TJ

But he was a little too flirty/inappropriate with you also, right? ... I'm sensing the pattern here!!! Lol

    Marriot popcicles!

Really?!? Lol when we were there I didn't even try them because the 5 women I talked to that did said they tasted like old meat! Hahaha Glad to hear they're better now!

    Beware! woman traveling to TJ

Oh yeah, that's a good point. Maybe he usually does but purposely avoided it this time because she was there! It would explain why my "group members" or whatever you wanna call them, and me are the only ones he came to alone!

    Beware! woman traveling to TJ

How weird, I wonder why he didn't when we were there. We saw Irene at the hotel quite a bit, but she wasn't with him when he came. Like I said, must have been a one time/one week thing! I feel better knowing three normally is though!
  9. That's exactly how Garcia explained it to me

    Beware! woman traveling to TJ

Weird! Maybe I was mouthy enough they figured I could handle myself alone with anyone! Lol He was alone for me and the rest of the women in my group though. May have just been a one time/one week thing if they were understaffed or something. I had no idea they usually use a chaperone. That would have made me feel better about the whole situation in the beginning. Wouldn't change my opinion but definitely an important factor that I was unaware of!!
  11. HAHAHAHAHAHA I never saw it before, but it's probably all I will ever see again looking at it!!!!!!! It's totally a condom!
  12. I think I can help!!! Lol My stomach picture isn't inflated with gas. It was taken after the leak tests so it's deflated, and more like it would be sitting in our bodies normally (when we weren't stuffing ourselves anyway lol). Here it is next to my LapBand that was removed!

I Bought A Magic Bullet At Costco

I bought what is essentially the Cuisinart version of it and I love it. I use it a lot when cooking and for making smoothies for my kids. I used it a lot on liquids and purées, but it definitely wasn't necessary, but I was glad to have it

    Beware! woman traveling to TJ

It's in a comment on a post. It's not a post he made, but one he responded to. The only thing with his answer that was odd to me is that he said the doctors will only go to the hotel to check on patients with a chaperone and said "the way it has ALWAYS been done." I was visited by Dr. Luna alone in my room. Obviously it was fine, but did everyone else have a chaperone with the doctor that visited them for Garcia (Luna or otherwise)? Not really a big issue, just curious

    opinions please

I agree 100%. Part of my motivation was not only to be around long term for my girls (toddlers now), but to be able to lead a healthy lifestyle as an example to them! I learned from my parents and my husband and I decided a while ago that when we had kids, we would be healthy by example and not just words.

    I lied.

That's AWFUL Janice... But I can't lie, I totally chuckled.

I was a revision so I had a bit of a different mindset. I spent a long time debating both, whether I deserved another chance at WLS, and also if I could even be successful after failing once before. But I do think that going back and forth is fairly common. Even when we know we need to do something to save our lives, I would question the sanity of the person that didn't at least give a 2nd thought to removing 85% of a major organ! Now, I would never look back and couldn't be happier, but I certainly spent plenty of time questioning my decision too, just in different ways!

    Nerve issues under left arm

Of course! It's at least a good place to start looking medically based on what you're describing! Could certainly still be a pinched nerve elsewhere, possibly in the cervical spine or lumbar spine where you suffered that old injury. But at least having a diagnosis to look into could lead you to some other similar diagnosis that may fit better! Either way, hopefully they can determine its origin soon and help relieve that pain. Nerve pain can be the absolute worst!! Hope you get some relief soon!!

    I lied.

I don't think pitbulls are ugly... I just don't like that one ate part of my dad! Lol That one is pretty ugly to me

As much as I loved my surgeon, I honestly think it only matters so much. You need to make it out alive and complication free. You need to have some form of follow up (though for me a lot of my follow up is through my PCP and nutritionist, unrelated to my surgeon). But other than that, I don't believe that one surgeon's skill in the OR will make you lose more weight. You need a skilled competent surgeon who will get you through safely and provide some follow up, but for long term weight loss? It's up to you!
