Weighing in on this one, my dads wife had total acceptance from me, helped her with photos, computer, FB. She used all that to create a profile on a dating web site to cheat on my dad. Felt so betrayed and used. #respect and trust are better earned than blindly trusting...

Docs have seen it all. Let your shame and fear go. Ask the professionals for help.

Familiar. Try doing something physical, move your body, not only your mind. I'm rearranging a room as we speak. Trust me- I would rather be..
I've let things pile up- now it's time to move it out!!????

You are on the right track! It's pretty amazing, once your band is properly adjusted (on your way!), you will understand what he means about the protien. Fish, meats, poultry, pork- all of those choices for me, engages the band and I feel very full- satisfied for hours. It really helps put and end to the constant food thoughts. The Portion Control will take care of itself. Happy holidays and it actually sounds like you have a pretty good doc ????

You have done amazing! Consider this, maybe it wasn't so much what you ate, but how soon you ate it? I remember my doc being very strict about when, how much, how soon. Maybe he just wants to see you be successful and not sabotage yourself? The early days help establish your eating behavior, and maximizing the weight loss during the first year. It really stinks when someone is disrespectful - yelling is unacceptable to me, I would tend to shut down, but this is about you. You are the one alone with your band day in and day out, I don't know how you handled this in the room, but you certainly have every right to protest when anyone disrespect you or belittles you. Chin up, try not to dwell on it, and keep on doing the awesome job!

I'm not an expert by any means. I would think you have seen a dermatologist to check your scalp? Some people are destined to have balding. I personally find a few things helpful for my dry thin hair.
    1. I take two caps of flaxseed oil daily as well as a multi Vitamin .
2 an hour before I Shampoo, I rub olive oil into my scalp
    3 shampoo with Chi shampoo
    4. An apple cider rinse, about every two weeks.
the flaxseed oil helps every inch of skin on my body- I swear by that one. I really noticed hair fallout after any surgical procedure, but it slows down between 4-6 months after for me. I was desperately seeking something to help stop the shedding, this routine along with letting my hair air dry, no color, no pulling into a pony tail, especially when wet - in other words, handling gently, has helped tremendously.
Good luck, hope this helps you too

Kitt3000 got a reaction from Tricia_H in No health problems apart from obesity, is surgery right?
Only you can make this very personal decision, your story is much like many of us, gain, loose, gain more, repete. Happy to be where I am today.
Obesity in itself, in my humble opinion, is life threatening. Today, your knees are going, what's next? I was tired of sitting on the sidelines, mentally and physically. WLS gave me a glimpse of the girl I used to be, even if I can't grow younger- I sure feel it!
Today, as I was walking to my car in a busy shopping place, a man at least 20 years younger, said hey beautiful, where are you parked? Sure, I knew he just wanted my parking space, but then, he could have waited and said nothing...

Kitt3000 got a reaction from Chrystee in Do you tell people you had Weight Loss Surgery?
I smile, say I quit eating and laugh! They usually laugh and move along.
I hate people making comments about my weight up or down. I grew up in a house where there was discussion on weight at least five times a day, no kidding. My husband and one adult child knows. That's it.
When we go out to dinner with people, my husband reminds me about the Protein Shake I "just" had, no wonder Im not very hungry....lol
It's no ones business! This may be very petty of me, but I really enjoy saying this to people who made cruel or sideways shots at the heavy me for my girth.

Kitt3000 got a reaction from Rebeccaabrooks86 in Do you know if you are too tight?
Obviously, if you can't get Water down, you are too tight.
If you can get a full cup of water down in one continuous drink- not sipping, are you too loose?
If your food goes right past your band with no stopping, but you can eat smaller portions and feel satisfied for two hours, are you too loose?
If your food stays with you for four or more hours, feeling satisfied and not hungry, are you too tight?
If all you can think about is food, are you hungry and obsessed ? Or just obsessed?
If you never think of food, but know you have ate very little that day, are you too tight?
What is a portion size? Is it 1/4 cup of dense Protein? One slice of deli meat?
Veterans of the band, please weigh in on the topic and feel free to add your questions and comments.

Kitt3000 reacted to NoMoBand in Unfilled Band too Tight..frustration...
This did happen to me and symptoms are very similar, except that the symtoms appeared a few months after surgery for me. My doctor put in 3cc's in the band during surgery and I did fine at first and could eat very little, then hardly anything at all. Thus my first fill was a slight unfill. Turns out that some of us only require very little in our bands to reach that sweet spot. I can only handle 2cc's in my band without it being too tight. It sounds like a slight unfill will do the trick, in my opinion. Jake.

@@ms.lissa I'm sorry you are having such trouble. I would advise you to speak with the surgeon who performed your surgery. Ask them if any Fluid was placed in the band during the surgery. Even a primer as this could be adding pressure to the band and the swelling you have internally. Removing even that tiny bit and any air could bring some relief.
Acid reflux is a cause for irritation to the stoma. Though you may only feel it as it comes up the fact that your stomach is very acidic all the time can be causing this additional swelling. Try using some ice pops to get some hydration in and reduce some of that internal swelling as well. If you consume beverages like tea or coffee cut those out as they also tend increase the acid in the stomach. The same for any type of sauces or citrus juices/fruits you may be consuming. Try to stay bland until you are feeling better.
I would also ask your Dr. to recommend a Gastroenterologist to perform an upper GI or endoscopy to check the actual placement of the band and see what kind of environment is going on in your stomach. This will help the doctors to determine what type of treatment you might need to reduce the acid and allow your stomach to heal and reduce the swelling in the stoma as well.
A good pro-biotic won't hurt, and you can get capsules you can open and sprinkle in Soup, or in Water.
Feel better and please let us know how you are doing!!

Kitt3000 reacted to B-52 in LapBand Forum going away?
Is the Lap Band forum discussions slowly being phased away? Perhaps by natural selection?
I always click "New Content" under lap band forums, and find it is predominantly all posts from people with other surgery procedures, such as Gastric Sleeve....
At first I thought that maybe people were not aware where they were posting, and that there are different categories, but lately there seems to be no boundaries between the types of surgery forums.
Nothing against other surgery types, but I feel experiences between them are different. And when I see a post, and it is from someone with another type of surgery, I cannot respond having no experience....and when there is a thread concerning the Lap band, people with other surgeries respond giving a less than sincere-accurate opinion.
I have heard that most Dr.'s are no longer doing Lap band surgeries and that other procedures are preferred...Least that is what is being said....so is that reflective on this forum also??? And eventually the Lap banders will be over-run and extinct?

For the past three weeks I have had significant lower back and shoulder neck pain. Guess what I found myself doing? EATING to make myself FEEL better. Ugggh, didn't work, of course. At least I recognise it sooner now. No damage done, but for pete's sake! Those pesky old responses are tough to recognise, modify behavior, try to figure out what would be a better choice to take care of the real problem. I would like to do that at the moment it happens- not two weeks later to have an ah haa moment, please
