detox is difficult! I've had to do it a couple of times after the holidays! too many temptations, but it can be done. I've even done the pouch reset a couple of times too, to get back on track.

Anybody know when your body adjusts to taking Saxenda? I took it about 5 months ago and didn't have any problems. I started taking it again about 4 days ago and it causing me bad cramping and loose stools (TMI)

It's normal! drink lots of water! It will get easier in a day or two.

I used to hold a pillow against my stomach and push lightly when I went to stand up, it helped a lot.

The only Vitamin I could take was opurity Sleeve and Bypass chewable. All the other ones make me nauseous, Opurity was a life saver for me, NOT cheap but they are only one a day. I also take their calcium citrate chewable. I still have to be infused for Iron though, I cannot take any Iron supplements and I have been anemic all my life. Good Luck.

How much exercise are you getting daily? my slow months were basically the months I didn't exercise as much. But everyone loses differently. I lost bunches the first couple of months.

4 minutes ago, Tapnjojo said:I agree with the concept of dieting to get ready for this life change and if I was told to eat 4-6 small meals a day, no problem. My concern is how low cal this diet is and there is actually only eating one time a day. I looked through all of my paperwork again and I think there is a step missing. I will be calling the Doctor on Monday. Thanks for the encouragement!
I think mine was around 1200 to 1800 a day. I looked for my paperwork, but couldn't find it, sorry. I gave up soda, coffee and alcohol and concentrated on Proteins and veggies, I think I drank at least 2 Protein Shakes a day as my Snacks and very minimal carbs. and walked at least 1 mile a day. it was tough, but so I the huge change in lifestyle you are about to do. Please check with your Doctor and Nutritionalist. Best of Luck to you, BELIEVE me when I say that 6 months will fly by! It is all worth it in the end.

I had to do a 6 month pre-op diet for my insurance to cover the surgery, it was well worth the work I ate six small meals a day and wasn't allowed to gain any weight during that 6 months, It actually prepared me for the surgery, because by the time I had to the the liver reduction phase during the last 2 weeks, it was easy. I had NO problems with the surgery and since I was used to eating 6 times a day the after surgery diet phases were easy too. I suggest taking this 6 months to learn how to be a bariatric patient and listen to your Doctor and Nut.

I had the same problem with ALL Iron supplements, My Doctor finally had me get an iron infusion. That was around 10 months ago and My iron level is good, I probably will need to get another one done when my iron levels drop, I've been anemic all my life.

I had similar problems when I was about a month out, have you been introducing new foods? I had a problem with my Vitamins until I found the ones I use now. I used to lay flat on my back when I had the cramping feeling. try to keep hydrated! I know it isn't easy when you feel like crap. Good luck! the issues should pass.

I was one of the lucky ones, I only had pain from my incisions. nothing else. Keep walking and walking too, I would only suggest when you get home to sip, sip, sip everything you drink during the liquid phase. you probably won't have a lot of energy the first few days. I think when you start eating real food again your energy level will take off, at least mine did. GOOD LUCK! and have a speedy recovery

When I returned to work and coaching baseball, I always had minimum of my daily Water intake with me at all times, I always had a cooler with ice, premixed Protein Drink and water with me (at least 64 oz of bottled water), I never knew how my day would go, so be prepared. I've been dehydrated once during the past 10 months and it is horrible. I could drink around 4oz at a time around a month out.

Everything will be great, I had some of the same thoughts too! hahaha. But I don't drink coffee anymore, it upsets my sleeve, I can do Decaf without problems. I would suggest walking as much as you can for the first week and increase your distance, you'll feel so much better. Just make sure you get as much liquids as you can tolerate after surgery too. I'm around 10 months out of surgery and my lifestyle has changed for the better, more energy, I still have around 20 more lbs to go. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do about the skin...I go back to surgeon in late September to schedule skin removal surgeries.

I understand what you are going thru. Iron makes me sick too, I've tried every Iron supplement, I using a chewable for the last week. so far so good, but usually during week two I start feeling bad. I might try the iron patch that is in the Bariatric Pal Store next. I really don't want to be infused again.

I've had ton of food challenges due to vacations, cruises, holidays and stress but stayed strong and on plan. I noticed at around 5 months when I was near goal and NUT wanted me to introduce vegetables and fruit back in which = carbs, I did have cravings and felt hunger often. I knew going in, my sleeve is a tool. I lost 70 lbs very quickly. I know it will get harder but I continue with my plan, no bready, Pasta or sweets. Weight loss is very slow now but it continues. One day at a time. I ate a sourdough pretzel today and an hour later had incredible pain on my right lower quadrant. I guess my tummy had something to say about that.

We have a pretty close surgery date, I haven't had any hunger pains yet, I eat 5 times a day. I really only eat to keep my energy up. I exercise every other day. Do you still do Protein shakes? I haven't had one in awhile. I have been losing around 10 lbs a month (5) without a stall. I've been eating steamed veggies since the 3rd month. Everyones NUT seems to have a different plan.

I really don't have an appetite, I just get tired or weak if I don't eat something on my regular schedule. Im about 5 months out.

I've had 7 surgeries in my lifetime, 4 knee surgeries, shoulder, sinus and VSG. The VSG was by far the easiest. I was only on pain meds for about 3 days. The incisions only hurt a little bit, I suggest using a pillow to get up and down, (pressing it lightly against your belly. YOU WILL DO GREAT! GOOD LUCK.
