    What's Your Favorite Store Now?

Yep. Went to Victoria's Secret a few weekends ago. It was great to buy one of their bras in the store and go thru the panties and pick out cute and sexy ones.

    Help!

Change your brain. Don't focus on those 27 lbs. focus on how much you've lost. And think about just adding one more pound to that loss. That pound isn't that much. You've already lost pounds. Just get rid of one more. And one more. And then one day all 27 lbs will be gone. I've lost ~100 lbs and have ~40 more to go. I can't think about that 40. I'm just focusing on losing a few and getting under 175 lbs. Then I'll conquer 170. Just a little at a time.

    Thyroid Issues Anyone?

I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 8 yrs ago. Was banded last December and have lost ~100 lbs. I've even had the dosage of medicine go down. But it's very important to get the proper amount. Not just to lose weigh but all of the other symptoms. But my main point is that weight loss is possible when properly medicated.
  4. How about just telling her? Tell her you withheld the info as you wanted it to be in person. It's done, you're doing well, and there's no need to discuss it as there's no going back. Say you are ready to celebrate and while you will join her for a meal eating a large amount of food is not necessary to truly celebrate. Won't be easy but I think you've already taken the biggest step by getting surgery. Best of luck.

    What's Your Favorite Store Now?

Since I'm not to goal yet I've been shopping the resale shops. Lucky enough to be in a city area that has lots of them. One thing I've learned is that if I like it just try it on. The sizes varyjust as much as the names of the brands. Recently bought a dress that said 1X but also a size 14 jeans.

    Marriage Problems 2 Mo. Out

Good for you for being honest. Your therapist doesn't have any insight as to why you feel this way? Aren't those feelings being explored? (No judgement just asking) Any behavior modification techniques suggested? Any "homework" given to bring you closer to your husband?

    Marriage Problems 2 Mo. Out

I'll encourage you to be completely honest with your therapist. After three months you should not be in the same spot. Not saying all should be fixed but progress should have been made. Put it all out there. Your therapist will not judge you. And maybe your husband can join you for a few sessions. I'm not saying he should learn about the other man but you are looking for things that he's not giving. Maybe the therapist can help him see that and also open your eyes to the needs of your husband.

    Code?

Happens on iPhone app too. Wish I was a lil bit techie so I could figure out why. Lol.

    Too Slow For My Taste

This is just my opinion and I believe you can be successful. I would get a fill. To me the Lapband is all about being properly adjusted. You shouldn't have to be hungry. Your portions should be a cup or less. It does take awhile to get to the green zone. But if you don't get fills then you won't reach it.

    How about Quinoa?

Also it needs to be rinsed first. Something about as it sits in the package it makes a slight dust and that's what's bitter. Rinse it, toast it, then boil. I use it in lots of recipes that call for rice and even some that are for polenta.

    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

    Thanks. That was helpful information.

    BIG FAT PEOPLE!

Ok. I will admit to not reading all the posts in this thread so my apologies if this was asked somewhere in the middle. How do you know you are a food addict? Seriously, I've never researched this.

    Gossip About The New Neighbors

Thanks. This is just a general forum though right? I'm on my phone and can't tell a thing. As for me, I just wish for everyone to be successful and healthy. I will admit I read all the "ugly" stuff for entertainment but I refrain from joining in. I feel like most that were on the LBT site are the same as me. But if course there's always a few...,

    Gossip About The New Neighbors

Please don't "band" us all together and think we are all the same. Some are nice, some are helpful, and then there are the others. Don't think we are sheep that agree with the "loud" ones. I'm happy to get to know other people thru the more general forums. :-) Tara

    Share Your NSVs Here Please!

Went out last night and danced and danced and danced. Never once thought my feet hurt or sit this one out cuz I'm tired. I did sit some out if I was getting hot but there were plenty of people sweating so I know that was just the situation not me being out of shape. Met some new people and plan to go out next weekend too! (Happy dance lol)

    Bruises

I've always gotten random bruises. Just small ones on my thighs or arms that I just assumed I had bumped into something and didn't remember. Not many, but have had some through the years. But lately this seems to happen more, the bruises are bigger, and some of them hurt. I have also noticed that I seem to get nicks and small scrapes on my hands when doing housework. These seem to take a long time to heal. I had blood work done at the end of June and was told my levels look good. Unfortunately I'm not quite sure which "levels" were checked. I take Vitamins everyday and get in enough Protein and have been steadily losing weight. Does anyone have any ideas about the bruises? Am I lacking in some nutrient? I prefer not to have blood work done again so soon (scheduled for it in October) so if I had an idea I could call the dr and see if it was included in the June numbers. Thanks!

    Spare Tire??

Some ideas.... Can you speak to management at the gym? It seems the employees are not understanding that their jobs are to make the customers happy. Just imagine how business would grow if they were helpful. I bet you would recommend the gym to others then. Also look on YouTube. I've not looked up the use of workout machines but when I was having back issues it was helpful to look up the stretches the doctor recommended. The stick figures on a piece of paper just didn't work for me but seeing someone do the moments correctly was great. As for the spare tire- it's my understanding that you can't specially work an area to get rid of fat. You can work to tone the muscles underneath but for the fat to go away you have to burn it off. Keep up the hard work and you'll get there.

    Lap Band with Plication

No hospital stay. Had a hernia repaired also. I was off work for two weeks and felt I needed all that time.

    Lap Band with Plication

I had both done last December and am happy too. All my fills are done under fluro and my doctor would wait for the barium to move through to check the plication too during my early visits. No issues at all with the plication.

    Tough Mudder & Pull Ups

Just a guess... Do push ups to build your strength. Seems to be the same muscles.
  21. When will the phone app be available? Thanks!

    Return to work HAHA

I think some of it depends on what you actually had done. I had Lapband with plication and a hernia repaired. I needed two full weeks. I couldn't have driven any sooner. Don't compare to other people. Do what you need to do for yourself.

Band removed (what diet should i try)

I really do wish you the best. It's probably going to be harder to lose and take longer too. I use myfitnesspal to track calories. I've logged every single day for 10 months. I actually have more guilt about not logging than having a cookie. I have found myself getting out of bed at night to add something I might have forgotten. Hopefully you can find the mindset that you had when you first got the band. That feeling that you can do it.

Band removed (what diet should i try)

I think you need to do some math. How many calories are you eating daily? How many calories are you burning? You need to burn more than you consume. I wouldn't be worried about the volume of food you eat, I would be more worried about the amount of calories. Also, if you're exercising done eat back those calories. Run at a deficit. It will be hard. You will probably be hungry. You just need to have healthy Snacks planned.
