I blended just about everything I cooked my husband. Some good, some not so good. I did try to stay away from high fat foods. I cooked with the 98% ff Soups. I tried blended smoked chicken with BBQ Sauce. It didn't make me sick, but set on my stomach like a brick. Blended lean meatloaf with a little added ketchup(no high fructose corn syrup) was pretty tasty. I stuck with lf cottage cheese for Breakfast because it has 14 gm of Protein. Taco bell refried Beans and cheese, yummy, they even sell them at the store by the can.

I definitely agree on the lack of sleep comment for it has been a struggle of mine for a while, ever since VSG. After finding melatonin does not really help me stay asleep (helps me fall asleep fine for about 4-5 hours), I have given in to taking a prescription sleep aid. Sure there is some next morning grogginess again, but getting asleep for 7-8 hours is more important for me or I will go paranoid. Another thing you might try is upping your carbs. I always feel a little better after hitting the carbs early afternoon (2 hours before working out). Of course, I encourage you to get back into the high oxygen consumption, sweat inducing cardio you know and hold dear. That always brights my mood and clears the fog from my head.

    I love all the NSV's!
I just got a new phone so I have been going through my old photos on FB. I have been telling my family that when I look in the mirror I still see a fat person. Lately looking in the mirror I am seeing someone else, not a fat person, more like a stranger. Well back to the photos, the fat person in them is definitely not who I am.

My top ten success strategies are:
    1. Weighing daily
    2. Correcting my diet to stay in my bounce range.
    3. Not bringing food home that I find hard to resist.
    4. Stocking the house with healthy, easy to eat foods and low or no calorie drink options.
    5. Weighing and measuring foods most of the time.
    6. Using smaller plates and bowls.
    7. Keeping my supplements and Vitamins in a pill holder by my toothbrush so I remember to take them.
    8. Coming here to offer support and get support.
    9. Exercise (more for my health and happiness than weight control).
    10. Changing my self talk. My two favs are reminding myself that self soothing is not self sabotage and I can't hate myself thin. With that in mind, I try to choose non-food treats such as lotion and perfume, calling a friend, or taking a walk when I am stressed or upset and I try focus on my success and planning on how to increase that instead of focusing on what I don't like about myself and what I have done wrong in the past.

TerryBelieves reacted to BrownDoesAll in The sleeve has made me a snacker.
To be sure the snacking doesn't become a problem be sure to weigh yourself. Expect to be in a certain bounce range. Once you've gone beyond that look out for gain. Hard to tell the difference between real hunger and head hunger. Try to switch one snack with hot tea. That soothes my head hunger.

I just experienced the best NSV ever! This just happened...
My 10 year old was playing in the basement, he came upstairs and said, "Mom, I found some pictures of me when I was little and you were in them. You look really different now. Your face used to be so puffy. Mom, you lost a lot of weight, I am really proud of you!". He then came over to me with a smile on his face and gave me a big hug.
    My heart melted.
He was only 7 when I had surgery. I asked him if he remembered me when I was big. He said he didn't. I was glad. He also told me I looked really sad in all of the pictures.
We talked for a while about being healthy and about never making fun of fat people. He then asked me how our lives would be different if I wouldn't have been fat. (Where in the world this little guy came up with a question like this is beyond me!) I told him that was a really good question and asked him what he thought. He said,"I think you would have been a lot happier and your face wouldn't have looked so sad in those pictures.".
This was a very touching moment for me, I don't want to ever forget it.

Hey there everyone! Looks like everyone is doing great...keep up the great work!

I have been staying busy, but have been getting my walking in every day. So far for the month I am at 41.85 miles.

Today my wife and I took a nice hike thru Lake Bistineau State Park. It was a beautiful day to be outside and on the trail. Even saw some deer. Here is a pic my wife shot of me without me knowing lol.

I added another good contribution to my personal January fitness challenge of being able to do 50 unassisted pull-ups. The workout I did had 100 chest 2 bar pull-ups in it. I completed them in sets of 10 for 10 rounds and did each set unassisted and fairly quick. Each round had a 250 m sprint, 10 chest 2 bar pull-ups, a set of 4 115# push press, a set of 8 burpees over the bar (we set the push press barbell down and each burpee move was completed as a jump over it), another set of 4 115# push presses and a set of 6 ring dips. Glad that I am getting practice on pull-ups in the context of a workouts!! I want to be able to get past more than 10 in a row though.
