Hi everyone. My name is Kim. I had my surgery one week ago and I am seeing some good results already!
I lost 7kg on the pre surgery diet and 4kg since my surgery last week! So a total of 11kg already :-) just wondering if any of you out there have some tips or advice? I'm pretty much doing this on my own so I can use all the support I can get :-)
    Thank you.

    Hello Everyone!
I was banded on the 4th, I've lost 20 pounds since surgery and 31 all together. I'm on the mushy diet, and I'm so over it.
On a good note, I walked on the treadmill for 55 minutes (just over 2.5 miles) today!!!

Hi! I was banded October 5. Everything is going great. I'm still on mushy phase. Get my first fill Nov 5. I have the Realize band btw.

Try not too overeat. If you don't stop in time, you will never forget the discomfort you will receive. You should be eating mushy/soft foods and not so solid. This will help with a longterm healing process in the stomach area.
    Best wishes

There were some things that I did have to give up in order to lose my first 70 or so pounds..

♦ I gave up dieting forever
♦ I gave up lugging around an extra person on my 5’2″ frame.
♦ I gave up being afraid I would break a chair when I sat in it
♦ I gave up needing seat belt extenders
♦ I said goodbye to 3x size clothes (and nearly 2x)
♦ I gave up feeling winded after walking 5 feet
♦ I gave up cold pizza or a cold McDonalds cheeseburger for Breakfast
♦ I gave up blaming everyone but me for being over 300 pounds
♦ I gave up knee pain and leg pain (getting better every day)

My list could go on and on but I have not give up anything I wish I had back.

The things I have gained are far more important than the things I lost. (mobility, belief in myself, desire, motivation...)

What are you happy to give up?

I paint my nails...lol it takes time to do them and then it takes even more time to let them dry. You wouldn't wanna mess up your nails while reaching for a snack it takes my mind off food...lol

I think the hardest thing in the begining is learning the difference between enough food I am not hungry and being full/stuffed. Preband I ate until I was full like don't take another bite you are stuffed. What I have learned with the band is it takes very little food to satisfy your stomache hunger. In the begining eat what they tell you and take small bites and chew chew chew take your time 20 mins was my time .Note I could have inhaled that amount in 2 mins before the band. Then ask yourself is my stomach full. If you say yes then stop eating. If your stomach says yes and your mouth says no then what you are missing is that party in your mouth.
Well thats one party you have gone to to many times so the party you want now is a celebration at the scale. The store where you get to shop now and the jeans you never thought you could wear. Now thats a party.

No, it's not a sign of anything other than your band isn't too tight.
Being in the Green Zone doesn't mean you can't eat certain foods, or that you can't eat large amounts of food, or even that you feel full. Being in the Green Zone means you can be satisfied on little food for longer periods of time.
