suzannetx reacted to Anch in Went over the top on last fill
First of all, congratulations on your continued success! How many ccs do you now have? I know the number is different for everyone, but tomorrow I have an appointment and want to tweak mine too...I'm afraid of getting in the red zone and don't want to have Fluid removed...

suzannetx reacted to marfar7 in second fill
Have patience! Thats my biggest tip. I didn't feel any till my 3rd fill ( 4mths out) and didn't lose but maybe 2 lbs during that time. My first real meal after feeling restricition was wonderful. I ate like a toddler! I finally saw my band working (it was useless before).
Just HAVE PATIENCE! It will work eventually!

suzannetx reacted to FLORIDAYS in fifties and pre-op surgery support
I have very fine hair but eniugh of it,,,,and although I was 50 at the time of surgery I didn't experience e any loss. I did however take Biotin for the first year so I dont know if it was the Biotin or genetics that let me keep my hair.< /p>
As for the sags... I just had my Tummy Tuck and breast aug/lift a about 11 days ago... Something. I never thought I would do.... So far loving the results!!!

suzannetx reacted to nicolemm in Gas pains
The heating pad literally saved me. I was banded on the 12th and I kept it on my lower stomach for two days straight, it really soothes the pain.
Walking also. I live in New England so walking outside is hard but just a few times around my house was also a relief!
Good luck!

suzannetx reacted to lifewillbegood in Post op day 9 for me
Of course I just made it up! Lol it's the high Fiber creamy basil Soup from progresso 2 oz of turkey sausage(that's all I had) 1/3 cup of shredded cheddar cheese as I cup of cottage cheese. I cooked the sausage with a little bit of the soup then melted the cheese at the end. Then I blended everything together. It's pretty tasty. I think mozzarella cheese would be good too but I didn't have any.
Makes a little of 3 1 cup servings.
Each serving consist of 182 calories 6g fat 15 G Protein 4 gm of Fiber and 17.7 carbs.
I would of also added some type of veggies like spinach if I had it but I didn't have time to go to the store!

So I'm feeling much better! Pain is gone for the most part. Still having some gas issues but not enough to keep me from actually eating! Now that I'm off the Protein Shakes I feel so much better! Guess they def were my enemy. Still trying to work on increasing my caloric intake and Water intake. I used to drink 64oz of water before the surgery now I think I'm finally up to half of that. I still have yet to feel true hunger so therefore it's still hard to get in what I need. I'm just doing it bc I know I need the calories! I'm onto creamy soups! I made this lasagna Soup for lunch today can't wait to try it! Then for dinner I'm going to make burritos for my hubby so I think. I might make me some enchilada soup or taco soup! Everything being blended of course! The only thing I actually have had that isn't on the list yet is eggs which I have made an egg salad with. Very much mushy. Just having a hard time thinking of Breakfast items!
I'm down 14lbs and hoping that my success continues! Just wanted to share my feeling better story so that other that have had surgery after me know there is the days when u will start to feel better!!!!!

#1 take sone gas x regularly. You won't feel so bloated. #2 you never have to give up your favorite foods. You'll learn a lot though trial and error. I had thin crust pizza for dinner tonight. Loved it! I do it about once a week and I'm Dow 50 lbs in 5 months. And NO, I don't workout . Good luck!

suzannetx reacted to FLORIDAYS in How long have you had the band?
I have had my band for 24 months. I have lost 220 lbs and am actually home recovering from my Tummy Tuck and breast lift/aug. I never once considered failure to be an option because I knew the band would do its job if I did mine. And it did.

suzannetx reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in How long have you had the band?
I didn't until after a couple fills, but now, yes. I'm easily satisfied on a cup or less of food for many hours.
-
suzannetx reacted to DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! in How long have you had the band?
I've had the band for 11 1/2 months, I've lost 175 pounds so far, and it's definitely the best thing I've ever done for myself.

suzannetx got a reaction from LadyLeigh2012 in December 2012 --- Band Buddies Unite!
I was banded 12-12-12. I'm starting to feel almost normal again. The gas pains are almost all gone. As far as the bathroom thing... I had to finally take some milk of magnesium and it worked like a charm. I feel 100% better after I got that part moving again. It even released all the gas in my shoulder. Know it may sound crazy but it feels great. Of course I called dr to ask if I could take it and I'm glad I did. From my PRE op diet till today I'm down 20 lbs !!!

suzannetx reacted to nicolemm in post op 3days
I haven't weighed myself since Wednesday bc I know I'm bloated and swollen. I was going to wait until I felt less gassy and stuff.
I actually haven't had pudding yet, it's on my snack list for tonight just to get a little something in for bed. The broccoli Soup tonight was made in my vitamix so I wasn't worried about carbs or anything because I steamed some broccoli and added a tiny amount of sharp cheddar then skim milk and blended for 6 minutes. So I know exactly what went into it, unlike the canned Soups. So far I haven't had a problem with anything I've tried, I just feel like I'm soo full from swelling that I'm not having much of an appetite at all

3 days post op too and my doc ok'd SF puddings and cream Soups. Also cream of wheat (watery), Protein shakes and SF carnation instant breakfasts. I are some cream of broccoli Soup, puréed so it was completely smooth and ate less than half of a cup.
I have my follow up on Thursday and he mentioned ok'ing mushy foods then. Good luck

I am two days out also. Feeling the gas pains a lot worse today. I'm still on only Clear liquids until tomorrow so I've only averaged 150 calories yesterday and with the track I'm on today I think I'll end up the same.
I am excited to move into full liquids tomorrow and start getting the Protein I need in

You won't fail! I'm only 6 weeks post op so I'm still learning but I had the same fears before my surgery. I've lost close to 40 pounds so far including preop diet and I'm very excited for more success to come. You will do good and surprise yourself!

suzannetx reacted to Rojasanoll in Tomorrow at 11am!!! So nervous and excited!
Congratulations and prayer's for a successful surgery. Your life begins with a new tool inside of you. Proper judgement on the food selections we eat and the tool can give postitive results. Remember for a few weeks you will be healing so don't get upset if you don't see any weight reduction. It will start slow and then buildup. Next thing you will be looking at smaller sizes in clothing.
Best wishes and Keep the Faith.
