    Will Depo-provera prevent weight loss?

    If I may weigh in... The breakthrough bleeding will happen no matter what bc you're on, bc losing a ton of weight so quickly does crazy things to your body & hormone levels. It was the most frustrating part of this process for me. I tried to get my dr to put me on depo & she used the "weight gain" deterrent. Honestly, after this long, & all my stalls & losses...I just still cannot see how it could affect weight so much. I was on it after my 2nd son was born & gained a TON of weight (80# or so). BUT I certainly wasn't eating like a Sleever, nor was I exercising or even eating healthy foods. Honestly, when I go back for my annual physical in April, I'm going to have her put me back on it bc I keep forgetting pills! Oiy!

    Nsv that Ive wanted since I was a teen

    Congrats! I'm so intimidated by VS. I went in one once in high school & it was awful. Nothing fit, & I'm about the same size now as then, so maybe when I get to goal I'll try again...

    Attention Ladies Who Took Birth Control Pills

    I'm on Yaz & have been for 2-3 years. I never stopped taking it. They just gave me heparin in the hospital. It definitely had zero affect on my WL. I lost 65# in my 1st 4 months. I did have some breakthrough bleeding months 5-8, but it was minor.

    3 years out...

    Are you getting enough fluids? Water, etc...? When I get dehydrated, even a day's worth, I stall. My other issue is carbs sneaking in. Did you find the veterans forums? :}
  5. Congrats on your WL! 1st thought: don't compare yourself to others. It will make you absolutely insane. The surgery itself wreaks total havoc on your body. I lost 18# on pre-op diet & gained 27 back from being in the hospital. (They claimed it was IV fluids) The drastic change in diet/calories confuses your body. The best thing you can do for yourself at this stage is to stay hydrated. You can get all the food/protein in the world & if you are dehydrated, it will stall you out. You are doing a fantastic job! Keep on truckin! :}
  6. You look FAB, girl!! WTG!
  7. http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html It's meant for RNY but works for VSG. Good Luck!! :}
  8. Nvm...!! I figured it out! :} you all probably think I'm losing it haha
  9. OTR...!! Btw...omigosh, you look FAB! & yeah, I was going to say the same thing... Didn't there used to be a separate forum/room for this topic?! Am I missing it, or did it disappear with the transition? I also remember ppl saying their sleeve relaxed a bit during p/g....

    Soooooo Tired

    I'm like a baby after feedings; eat & pass out! Lol That's honestly why I don't like to eat at work. Yesterday I fell asleep right at the table because I didn't want to be rude & get up. ;}

    30 day, 100% RAW FOOD challenge

    I am "stuck" sticking to a vegan diet post-op, & honestly, I have no problems hitting my Protein goals. I never in my life would've believed I'd be saying that, but it's true. OP: I can't do "raw" yet as my sleeve is still fairly new, but I'm interested to see how you progress. Best wishes!

    I am giving up on chicken.

    I'm almost 16 wks out & chicken is my enemy. My sister had RNY in 2010 & she still can't handle chicken either. I personally feel its because of how dense it is. I can have/tolerate small amounts of fish (~1oz) & shrimp, which is ok by me because I don't get that sleeve-full-of-concrete-someone-kill-me feeling, & it's loaded with protein.
  16. I told my surgeon that unless there was an issue with my gallbladder (they did routine ultrasounds as part of the pre-op hoops), then I would be keeping mine, kthnxbai...! It's an ORGAN with a real function. Everyone I know who has had WLS & needed it removed after the fact, had dietary issues (following prescribed diet, etc). Do your research, TALK to your surgeon & ask so many questions that they won't be able to doubt your intelligence. I probably drove my team insane with all the questions I asked, but I was able to go into surgery with a clear conscience. I don't say that to sound high & mighty, not at all. But people post radical things like this OP all the time & get people all frantic.
