    Fitness shoes!

I went to foot solutions today, and they had me try on a couple pairs of shoes although they didn't have much selection. I did like the Brooks addiction. I have a very wide foot and my arch is on the medium to high. I tend to lean my weight on the outter side of the shoes. I didn't want to buy something right away, I wish there was a place with a bigger selection. That shoe is a walking shoe btw. I am really thinking of that one.. but my search continues!
  7. I love the band. I honestly and truly believe it is the best thing I could have done for myself. I am not the hardcore strict person, and I am not the person who will test my limits as well, well rarely anyway! I am about 3months post op, and I have not had 1 problem yet. Nothing has ever came up, never vomited, nothing ever got stuck.. thank god! I choose the band like all the reasons above, because to me it is less evasive. I didn't want something that there was no return from. I wanted something that could aid me for a lifetime. I have lost 43lbs with just following rules and still having things I enjoy. I have known only 2 people with the sleeve. BOTH have gained their weight back. One never learned how to eat and change their lifestyle.. and the other only lost 40lbs total and even gained that back because even though your stomach is cut off, you can stretch it to the way it was before surgery. She tested it time and time again, I would get so angry with her and this was before I decided I was going to get the band, we would go out to eat... and she would order her usual plate and eat half and would feel full, and say I can still eat more and she would. DEFEATING the whole purpose of her tool, since they are all tools to aid. Another with the bypass, lost sooo much weight.. gained 60% back. Everything has it's ups and downs. But it goes to show you, that no matter which you choose you will have to change your lifestyle for it to work for the long haul, any diet can give us a quick fix, but we wouldn't be doing this if we just wanted another quick fix, just to gain it all back again. I really hope you make the best decision for you afterall you are the one who will be living with the decision you make. Good luck and Keep us posted how you are doing!! Much success no matter what you choose
  8. Praying for a speedy recovery. Sorry it did not work for you, and wish you success for your future. Take care hun

    I don't understand

You are amazing and that is so rude! Maddy has it right, they don't like what they hear AND they have bad manners. I remember being one of those in your inbox.. filled me with lots of hope and inspiration and you were always so very uplifting and positive. I thanked you then.. and thank you for all you do now. Continue being you.. we love her!

    Portion sizes

if you are feeling to hungry with the small amounts 5 times a day... try to keep it to a cup of food 3 times a day.. that way you are more satisfied? Of course ask your Dr about it and see what he tells you.. I know most eat between 1/2-1 cup per meal 3 times a day.. because the band if suppose to help you feel satisfied for 4hrs ish.

    Fitness shoes!

Thanks a lot Crystal! I never realized socks being important, But now I can see that. Working, I stand all day long and my feet would glide this and that way, my socks would crunch up or twist, it was very annoying. As of recently, I am no longer working, but I guess that just gives me more time for fitness! Yaaaah
  25. I had a haital hernia, and they took care of it while they did the band. They said it was effecting the esophagus also. My surgeon suggested I also get the bypass, I choose against it because I really did not want to have such a drastic surgery. Didn't want to have anything cut or anything that couldn't be reversed. I choose to stick to the lap band because to me it was safer and reversable yet can be a lifelong tool. He said, you are going to have to try harder and eat better, I said I will do that! So after the surgery.. No more reflux! I never even knew what a hiatal hernia was! Just one day I had bad reflux over any and everything! it was horrible . Now.. nothing and it feels wonderful let me tell you. Wish you the best of luck with whatever you decide to do.!
