It will get better but you must get Protein and Water in. Have u talked to your doc regarding this issue, Pls call your doc you do not want to the back to hospital or hve additional surgery. Good luck

It is truly a journey I hve lower back pain and arthoristists in one hip other than that this has been the best decision in my life. Challenge staying motivated to do some form of exercise. I speak at the community info to wls and support groups. Life is so different, I weigh once a month surgery date 10/29/12 lost 25 inches and 40 lbs. My NEW LIFE MOTTO is "I desire nothing old from my past, everything must be new, I have been given a second chance at life and will not waste one second of it ". I was sleeved 10/29/12 I am in my 5 th month. I am in agreement with some of the comments. It is crazy in my opinion to expect people to eat like u do if they have not had surgery. This is your journey not your family or friends. I did not go out to eat for 3 mos and when I did I took my food with me this was past the mushie stage. In order Tb successful you must commit to yourself and the process. I did not lose any weight until after my first doc visit. While in the hospital I retained Fluid. I never had any complications. I hve lost 57 lbs I am a slow loser and I accept that I hve lost inches like crazy. In my 4 th month I began exercising why did I wait so long? I wanted my body to heal, I don't compare myself to anyone on the boards. My wish for all stay committed to yourself and the process don't rush remember it is not about the weight it is about how you will function as a healthier you. Tbaby there is no scripture for elective surgery in the word. But if u believe that god directs your life, every phase of this process should be lifted up in prayer. I ask the lord his will be done, not mine and block it if it were not for me. I had surgery on 10/29 mininmal pain, no clots or leaks this is truly a gift. For our bodies are his temple and I am forever grateful to god for the gift. Be blessed

This sounds scary to me, my doc does not allow any of his patients to have food after surgery for 2 weeks just shakes, broth, popcycles. He says that YOU MUST give your stomach time to heal, if a small grain or anything get caught in between the sutures it is a major problem pls, pls be careful. This is no joke

Congrats allow yourself time to heal this is a new tummy do what they tell u sip walk allow rest and naps so u can heal understand u must heal good luck

What is really sad to me is that people feel they r obligated to tell others about a decision they made for themselves I bet no one went to the individuals of concern asking thier opions whether or not they should hve the surgery or which surgery they should have. Really sad because most of the people u are concerned about telling probley thought when u were heavy that u should do something about your weight whether they said it or thought it we all know the sterotypes people hve about overweight people no matter how smart or well you do your job. So now you hve become proactive in prolonging your life, u feel you hve to explain explain explain. I just don't get it. My plan has always been to say I am on a supervised medical eating and exercise plan that is working for me. End of story. If they cannot respect that, they probley will be negative if you gave them more details.

Came home 10/31 today is my first full day home. Getting used to my new stomach. Eating only popcycles,broth and Water for 2 more days then adding Protein Shakes oh and walking a little every 4 to 5 hrs. taking it easy. Praise God I had very little pain, gas or acid nothing I could not handle. No real appetiate legs feel a little heavy have to keep them up. I want to know how everyone else is doing
