To me, it's just absence of hunger. Full is not something I want to feel because I associate that feeling with being stuffed.

Speaking for myself, I always exercise to burn calories....
If I were to eat to make up for what I just burned off, what would be the point?
The body stores fat as a energy source for those possible days of famine...I aim to burn that excess....
I work out every morning at 5-6am, on a empty stomach (other than my morning coffee) ...then I have a low cal, high Protein shake as a recovery after my workout...
I ran 6 miles this morning, and will aim for the same tomorrow morning...
it's calories in versus calories burned......at least that's my take...other people may feel differently.

Thank you very much! I had my post-op appointment today and I figured I'm not doing too badly considering I lost 17 lbs since my surgery day lol. I think it'll be ok once I'm back to normal food because I don't care much for junk food, and since I know sweets are a real problem for me, we just don't buy them. I'm so ready for something other than cream Soups and Protein Shakes though!

I am going to say ask your nutritionist. When I asked mine, she told me that there was a not a 1 cup because lettuce/salad was so much Water ... she considered it a slider (strange to me!)
Not sure why this is so different.

I hated the thought of the crap machine too. I stopped breathing 80 times! I felt the same way, but did it. I hated it, but after a few nights I slept so good it was unbelievable. And my spouse slept better! I hated it every time I wore it. As I lost weight, I would wear it for four hours and take it off whenever I woke up during the night. But I did start off with it every night. Also, as I lost weight, they were able to lower the air pressure and before a year was up, I no longer needed it!
I agree that it does help your body and aide in you losing weight if you are breathing and sleeping better. Good luck with whatever you decide. But know that it is not the end of the world.

Keep in mind that you are not on real food yet so there is a big difference. Continue to eat and drink your mushies and don't worry so much. When you get to the real stage of food, eat your 2-3 ounces of dense Protein, 1/3 c of veggies and 1/3 c of good carb, wait 20 minutes before seeing if you are still hungry. You should never feel "full" but you should be satisfied with what you ate and you will not die if you don't eat more. Your head may tell you that you can eat more, but your body does not "need" it. Just think of do you "want" more or "need" more. The answer is usually "want." That is the head game!
You should be able to do this every 4-6 hours and be good. Just don't eat unless you are hungry. Sometimes I would have a small healthy snack between meals if I had to schedule my meals. My spouse was really good about letting me control the schedule, not the clock or old habits. My meals were usually at 10 or 11 am and then 6 or 7 pm with one snack in between. You just have to find what works for you.
Don't get a fill to not eat, get a fill if you cannot control your hunger time. It is a big head game that lasts several months. Just be prepared for that. Find something else to do, your body will not starve.
    Good luck!

I'm 3 months post op and for me I wait until my stomach grumbles to signal if I'm hungry. I definitely still have head hunger so I have to really be in tune with my body or I will eat to satisfy a craving.

I hate to tell you this, but if you have been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea you should get the CPAP. I didn't believe I had it either until my surgeon ordered it before surgery. I was shocked, but I accepted it nonetheless. Why do you have to get the full mask? I have the tiny one that just goes over my nostrils and the tube doesn't keep me from sleeping on my stomach at all. Let's face it, once you get your band, you won't be able to sleep on your stomach for a couple of weeks anyway. Are you going to decline the band because you have to sleep on your back? Furthermore, do you know what you are putting your body through by not using the machine? CPAP's actually help to elevate metabolism and I haven't waken up so refreshed since I was a kid. Yeah, I was just like you..."my boyfriend can't see me sleep with this on my face..." but honey, my snoring IS WAYYYYY more embarrasing than that mask. You sleep on your stomach anyway, cover the straps with your hair and your back to him and he won't even notice because the machine is silent.
I think you need to reassess your priorities. Your heart is seriously suffering right now and the machine is not forever! Just until you lose the weight, maybe even sooner. I know someone who no longer needed it after about 18 months of using the machine. This is more than vanity dear, this is your life. If you stop breathing, you're not getting adequate oxygen and there are a lot of other health implications to that.

I am in Central Florida. My legs are bad too but I am still 15 pounds from my goal weight and my boobs and arm bothered me more. I wear capris all the time and you can not tell I have saggy folded skin. In a bathing suit I can not hide it but oh well. I wear tank tops all the time and I hated my Bat wings I feel like they made me look soooo much bigger then I was. And I could not image have skinny arms and flappy boobs I will have a Tummy Tuck too but I have to let the funds build back up again!

It's been a week today since I restarted, and I'm feeling good! I weigh in tomorrow and I think I'll be down 3+ lbs. Going in the right direction. Did zumba yesterday, feeling good about that. Tracking everything in myfitnesspal and staying really well on track, and getting my Water in. I have a splitting headache from lack of sleep- just didn't sleep well last night. Oh well, this too shall pass!
    Everyone, chime in!

Sorry to hear about the DH, but men, who can figure them out? My hubs STILL asks if I want something to drink with my dinner at home ... And we're what, 18 months out? I just say no thanks every blasted time! I mean, really? Oh, well, bless his soul, he's great in lots of other areas.
Wonder where everyone else is at lately? Chrissylu, rkimom, NJ, Nicole, Meredith?

Time flies! I meant to check in on Sunday and yesterday, but work was craaaaaazy yesterday, and I forgot Sunday, LOL. Doing really well. Back on track with MFP, eating right and NO ICE CREAM!!! I weigh on Thursday, we'll see what the scale says. I want to bust out of the stinkin 230's and get into the next decade, then down to 211 which is where I stopped last time. Had a big bust up with DH about the lap band, he's super unsupportive (of pretty much everything, not just this), so I just had to put my foot down. So I'm not perfect, show me someone who is.
Ladybandito- thanks! I've been working on increasing the Protein too. I like tracking what I eat so I can see the protein grams, then I choose a snack with protein to up it. I also need to get back to taking my Vitamins. That is something I'll start doing!
I'm feeling good, doing it right! I'm glad y'all are here, even if it's quiet- but if you're lurking, I could use the company!
