Raven21 got a reaction from Daydra in What Was Your Final "straw That Broke The Camels Back"
Wow, so many familiar stories here! Mine was a compilation of so many of them over the years, but the final straw was when I got my height measured at my doc appt. I've been 5'8" forever. Last year it was 5'7.5" (could have been a mistake, I thought), and this year it was 5'7". I'm shrinking vertically. At the same weight, I'm getting fatter and have a higher BMI every year!

I can't wait! I sweat like a pig, typical cliche' sweaty fat pig person. I'm always hot. My dream is to wear one of these big bulky cable knit sweaters next fall!

Raven21 got a reaction from mini.mee in Help - scheduled for Band on Feb 1, should I do Sleeve?
I honestly never considered the band because it seemed like a temporary solution. I needed something permanent. I kept thinking that people like the fact it was reversible, but I still don't understand why. I could always lose weight but never keep it off. If I got the band, when would I want it removed so I could gain again? Just thoughts I had, good luck with your decision.

Raven21 got a reaction from Houston17 in If you had to compare.....
I have heard that the pain and recovery, as well as the mortality rate (which is VERY low!) are very much comparable to gallbladder surgery.
I'd have this again over labor pain ANYTIME!

Definitely have the VSG first. Any weight you lose will make the knee surgery recovery easier.

As someone who had the sleeve, I love it and would highly recommend it, and would say "hell no" to the band. That being said, no one surgery is for everyone, it's a very personal decision based on being informed and just plain personal preference. Good luck on your decision!

Well I am now 11 weeks pregnant and baby and I are both doing fine. I have lost a few pounds but only about 6 which is good. Eating is a struggle to get all my Protein in and try to eat veggies and fruits that baby needs. I had my first ultrasound to make sure baby is fine and thank god baby is good. We will be monitored closely but just as a precaution. Morning sickness was rough at first but is calming down. I go in next week to see both the doc and will have more to report then. thank you to everyone with your kind words and thoughts!

Raven21 got a reaction from LaserSkinGirl in The Top 5 Things You Will Not Miss After Vsg
I will not miss laying in bed wishing I didn't have to get up and find clothes for the day.
I will not miss sweating like a pig. All the time!
I will not miss assuming people are disgusted by me (whether they actually are or not).
I will not miss running away from people with cameras, or ducking in the back.
I will not miss wondering why my husband even loves me anymore, because I despise myself.

Raven21 reacted to Mary6013 in 3 weeks out and still pain? Ok?
My doctor said that the pain/soreness on he left side is normal. There is a lot of stretching that goes on with the muscles when they pull the stomach out. My left side just bothers me when I sleep. Hope you feel better soon.
Have u talked to your doctor about it just to be sure? I am 14 days post op and mine feels better and not as bad.
