I ran my first 5k this morning. Was the biggest loser run/walk in Chicago. I did pretty good can only improve from here! Just wanted to share!
I've watched every season of BL since it started. My favorite people to date have been Danni Allen and Bobby Saleem and I got to meet them today.
This was such an awesome experience!

Greetings all!
I don't post much but I lurk a lot and see how you are all doing. Good luck to all the newbies and those getting sleeved soon!
I was sleeved 12/10/12. I consider myself a slow loser as I'm still 50-60lbs from my goal weight. But I'm down a 103lbs and couldn't be happier! I'm in a way better place than I was 18 months ago.
We got pregnant last august and lost it in September and I haven't lost a pound since. No matter what I do i can't seem to get my weight loss started again.
I am seeing a new dr now who is helping me get my gut healed. I have leaky gut and am not digesting properly. On the plus side I haven't gained any weight which is key to being a success!
I just wanted to share because not all of us lose 150lbs in 6 months and attain goal quickly. I of course would of loved too but my body has other plans.
SW: 332 CW: 229 was 26/28 now 14/16. I'm 5'8".

Here is a link for symptoms.
Mine has been Constipation, pain on right side under rib, pain radiating to my back/shoulder blades, chest pain, shortness of breath, pain in my clavicle, pain on left side under rib.
-
Meal prepping. I get all my meals ready for the week on Sunday afternoon. I'm less likely to slip up then.
-
Thank you all for your advice/stories. I have one more Dr appointment before I go in for surgery and I'm going to ask their opinion as well. I feel like since we already 80% of our stomachs removed I'm now dealing with daily Constipation due to a lack of enzymes in my tummy to help digest food. I feel like taking the bladder out its going to make it worse.
I'll get it sorted out soon
Thanks!

i knew going into my sleeve surgery that my gallbladder was filled with stones, they werent active or causing problems, so my surgeon wouldnt remove it at the time of my surgery.
fastforward to now. i have been having some attacks, i am slated to have it removed april 17th.
my question is has anyone done a gallbladder/liver flush prior to gallbladder removal and have it help? i read things online about how amazing it is but i want someone in our shoes to say if it works or not.
i already seem to have issues digesting food as i am always constipated now. clearly enzymes that were in my belly to help digest have been removed. my surgeron doesnt see the big deal with Constipation. i do however as my food shouldnt be sitting in me for days. i feel if food goes in food should come out. but that's for another day .
any one do a cleanse and feel it worked? i am just not sure i want another organ removed if i truly dont need it to be removed. as much as i trust my surgeon they all see $ signs when we come in complaining of pain. there wasnt even a thought about not removing it. it was just "needs to come out".
TIA!

New to the site got my surgery date of 3/18 at St. Alexin in Hoffman Estates with Dr. Guskey. Start with the preop shakes on Tues. Getting nervous and anxious. Wheaning off of some neuropathy meds cause can't get liquid forms so nerves are a little rattled. Anyone else ever use Dr. Guskey. Seems like a pretty compansionate guy.
Cathy
Hi Cathy, I didn't have Dr Guskey but I did have Dr Rantis. Sleever 12/12/12. All the drs at the Kane center are awesome. You'll do great.

Thanks everyone My best advice be would follow the plan. Mine was protein/non starchy veggie (2:1 ratio), minimum 64 ounces Water (I get between 100-150 ounces a day), 30 minutes of cardio/5 days a week. Don't beat yourself up if you fall off track. Just get back up and keep going. I haven't been perfect on this journey but I feel like the sleeve has helped me get back on track where as pre sleeve if I would have got off track I wouldn't of been able to refocus and keep going.
You look fantastic! Way to go!!!

The fact that I can play with my 3, almost 4 year old and our run her now is something to be so happy over .

Merry Christmas fellow December 2012 sleevers!
This past year has been crazy! Sleeved 12/10/12.
Highest weight 332
Pre-op surgery diet weight 315
Surgery weight 306
Today's weight 230
A total of 102lbs down
Went from 3x, size 26/28 to size l/xl, size 16.
Best decision ever! I have come so far but still have a ways to go. Ultimately my goal is 165, I'm 5'8". I honestly though haven't lost a pound since August. Hubby and I were expecting baby #2 but unfortunately lost it in September but since that positive test I haven't lost a damn pound. I should be happy that I haven't gained however its frustrating to not be losing no matter what I do. I recently saw the NUT again. I was very honest and told her everything that I eat. She thinks I'm getting too much fat in my diet. So I'm tracking and going back January 10 for a f/u.
I'm sure I can get to goal. I just need to figure out what is going on.
Merry Christmas to you all!

Hoping to get to my goal by May of 165 lbs! If i could just get below 230, think I could do it!

You look awesome, congrats on your weight loss and keeping it off for all those months. That is success in itself. I'm so not the expert in trying to get the weight loss started again but maybe a trip to your DR will give some insight. I'm thinking the NUTS can give some advice. Are you working out/exercising? Maybe that would do the trick??? Wishing you a jump start in 2014 to get where you want to be )))
thank you! i'm getting there! i can honestly say when i was pregnant i stopped working out bc i was nervous. then everything happened and then i started working out again mid to late october. i then threw my low back out in november and am in PT and seeing a chiro. i walk every day on my lunch for 25 minutes and then on fri, sat sun go to the gym and do cardio. however i just started doing cardio again this past week because i was on hiadus with my back. per chiro i started again. i did go see a NUT on the 6th of december. she seems perplexed about me because she could tell i was being honest about what i was eating which is following the plan. but she seems to think i am getting too many fat calories. so my goal for the next month is to track in mfp (which i am awful at) and then go back and see her january 10th. we are then going to review mfp log and see where she thinks i am going wrong.
i'll be honest and say once a week i do have something i am not supposed too. but so far this week i have cut that out.
hopefully getting back to the gym last week and tracking will get me going again. i do see my surgeon soon and will be talking with them about this as well

December 10 was my 1 year anniversary and I am down a total of 102lbs!
I started this journey at 332lbs and today am 230lbs (5'8"). I was in 26/28, I assume 3XL tops.
Today I am in size 16 jeans and large or xl tops depending on where I go.
This has not been an easy journey and I have fought for every pound. I was pregnant in july and we lost it in september and I have not lost a pound since! I am working so hard to get it going again but it just hasnt happened yet. I know I am not done losing yet! Hoping to get to my goal by May of 165! If i could just get below 230 I think I could do it!
Hope everyone has a great christmas!

Hi all! Starting pureeds and can have Greek yogurt' date=' just wondering how much I should be eating of it? I'm 2 weeks post op. I think it's a 5 oz container.[/quote']The first couple weeks/months postop I could only eat a couple ounces of yogurt. Now I csn eat a whole 5 or 6 ounce container no problem. At two weeks you probably can have just a few bites before your full.
