Good luck with your new journey. I love the band. I have had it for 1 1/2 years.
I have a shake for breakfast every morning. I hate eggs etc. I use 8 oz unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 scoop of chocolate Body Fortress protein powder, about 1 tea. or more of decaf instant coffee and about the same amount of peppermint extract and then tons of ice. My shakes are very thick and taste great. The coffee and peppermint kills all after tastes. I have a small Hamilton Beach blender that is also the drink cup. So after all the ingredients are in I fill it with small ice cubes.
Good luck.

I love the show and love seeing how the people end up. I do think Jillian is a bully, a lot of the time. I know I wouldn't want her to be my trainer.
Rachel did go over board to win the money. But then she was a swimmer, so maybe this weight is normal for her younger self.

Thank you for telling about the shoulder pain. I was convinced I need shoulder surgery. You just saved me from a MRI and doctor's appointments.
I have had 3-4 fills for a total of 2.2 and my doctor said I don't need more.
Every doctor is different.

Have you gone to any meetings? They explain the different types. Also the support groups are great because the people will tell you what is good or bad about each type of surgery.
Good luck. I have the band and love it. Nothing is removed and the band can get removed or replaced if needed.

Good luck with your new journey. I don't recall which WLS you're having. I got the band right before I was 62. The best thing I ever did. I wish I knew about it many years ago.

My oldest brother once went to a meeting/talk about dealing with old age parents. The speaker said that to keep the mind going, math helps. My mother would take 3 packages of the same item and in her head would tell which size to buy. It was like it happened over night. She fell and then went back home and that was over 4 years ago. She took care of and spoiled my brother who is mentally challenged. He is now our problem. He is mentally around 12, which when you see others, that is great. When he was 8 months he got the measles and it destroyed 1/2 his brain.
I hope I am never like this when I get that age.

my mother use to say when she was around 85 that she, my father and brother should go on a bus and let the bus go over the cliff. My SIL added her father (he is now 96)to the list and my husband added his mother (90) to the list. It is funny but not funny.

I am so sorry you are having to go through this, and I completely agree with you on your rant.
God bless. I'm sending you much love.
thank you. My mother is going to the hospital tonight because she did break something and they want to check her out better.

Congratulations and good luck with the band and your new journey.
I only do chocolate shakes. I use 8 oz of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1 scoop of powder (I use Body Fortress-under $17.) about 1 tea. of decaf instant coffee, about 1 tea. of peppermint extract and lots of ice and my shakes are great and very very thick like McDonald's or Wendy's. I have a small Hamilton Beach blender (under $20.) that is also the drinking cup. I have been drinking these for breakfast for almost 2 years and love them.
For ice, I have small ice cube trays so that the cubes are extremely small. I bought them at Bed Bath and Beyond for around $3. I use 1 whole tray for every shake.
Good luck and enjoy your shakes.

You're doing great and look super. Kim K was on JKL last night. her ass is massive and who ever dresses her needs to be fired. Her ass was too large and gross for her body hugging outfit with the belly hanging out.
Have fun at the gym.

Congratulations on your journey. After 1 1/2 years of having the band, I still see fat me. My clothes are no longer plus size but I see huge me.
I was watching the Biggest Loser last night, it was make over night. Amazing when you clean up people and get them out of work out clothes how great they looked.
Keep up the great work. Maybe you can talk to someone at the doctor's office about still seeing the heavier version of you.

You did great and I am so the same way. The gym where I go, I haven't been in over 2 months, bad me, I go around 1-2 pm and the place is empty. I do the bike and some machines only. My bad knees and back can't do treadmills or elliptical.
My son said at the gym to wear heavy clothes with a hoodie on so you sweat. I don't do that but have seen many people doing it.
Enjoy yourself.
One question to everyone-why do gym have walls and walls of mirrors????

I don't know if I could be so patient with the tiny fills. At least you didn't gain! My hubby joined us up to a gym down the road. I went for a tour for the first time earlier this week. I don't think I'll be going back. It's the kind of place that just makes me feel bad about myself. I was by far the fattest person there and everyone was really....bouncy. I think I'm gonna stick to the treadmill and the park. Lol.
I don't mind the tiny fills. I did gain 3 pounds and got no fill today. Ont eh bright side, my doctor would be fine if I stayed where I am for life. I would like to lose 40-50 more, though but then it has been over 40 years since I was that weight.
As far as gyms go, I go around 1-2 and maybe there are 10 people there. All shapes and sizes and mostly older people. They do have a senior class but I am too lazy to get there at noon, M-W-F. I am a late sleeper. The weight room with the studs, is in the back and they walk through only and don't look at anyone but themselves.

I feel so sorry for your complications. You had mentioned that you loved your TT. Thank you for sharing, the good, the bad and ugly. Nothing is ever perfect even though we try so hard.
I am happy you are back here.
Feel better and keep in touch, we do miss you and the yellow roses of TX.

Hi. I have been the same weight for a real long time because I am lazy. Even though your scale is the same have your measurements changed at all? Sometimes the inches go before the weight.
Keep up with the exercises because I haven't gone to the gym in real long time but I pay every month. I know, I am bad.

Congratulations on your new life!! I can't believe how fast from start to finish. WOW. I love the band. You are so young, you have the rest of your life to enjoy your children and run and play with them. I can play, not run with my grandsons.
Louisville, isn't that where the bats are from? Louisville sluggers?
Enjoy eating out. I do it all the time. Just got back from dinner.

Hi,
I read this after i commented about food. Congratulations on your wonderful success. i have the band and have been at a plateau for 6-9 months. My doctor is thrilled where I am but not me. I want to lose 40-50 more. I had the surgery at the BI in Boston. You are little to far for me. My local hospital, Milton, has a monthly support group that I attend. Doesn't Lowell have one?

you seem to be doing great. My doctor and dietitian told me no more Splenda. I now use Truvia which is stevia. Have you been told about this?
Also, are you allowed this much bread? Maybe talk to your dietitian. Granola bars are a no-no. Do you like yogurt? I don't but that is a great snack item. Do you ever have protein shakes? I have them every morning for breakfast and they fill me for 3-5 hours. My schedule is weird because I sleep late. It is 1:00pm and I am having my morning shake.
I hope I helped some.

I am a bander and I weigh myself too much also.
One of my bander friends doesn't own a scale, smart person. She only gets weighed at the doctor's.

Happy New Year and good luck. We all choose WLS because we all have an eating problem. Each one of has it a little different than the other person. Last week my MIL asked how I got fat because I am a very plain eater, no salad dressing, no extras, never had mayo, mustard etc. I loved fried foods. I could eat a large pizza everyday. I gave up fried foods except for maybe 1-3 fries from my husband's plate. I loved bagels and lox or french toast for breakfast, now just protein shakes. I only have crusty breads in restaurants.
I have made a lot of great changes and still do. I am far from perfect but over eating gets stuck and I hate the feeling. I have never thrown up, which is wonderful.
Maybe see your dietitian before surgery or talk to someone in the WL field about your family eatings.

Good luck with your new journey. My dietitian recommended the Cliff protein bars. I love the chocolate mint ones. They are the only ones I eat. People have recommended the Quest ones, I never had one.
For shakes, I only drink chocolate and I add a little decaf instant coffee, a little peppermint extract and tons of ice and they are as thick as McDonald's.

Please don't give up at all. I almost did. It took me about 10 months because of hospital changes and my age. I know, I have a band, but we are all WLS people.
Have you ever thought of calling the insurance company and saying, WTF??
Bug your doctor's office. Say to them, please check for me and I will call you Monday at 11:00am and just keep doing that.
Good luck and keeping trying.

Hi. I never heard of not eating fruit and veggies that are uncooked. I know every doctor is different. I have been with the same doctor the whole time but 3 different dietitians. The 2nd one told me nothing is forbidden but eat smart. My current one has a long list of forbidden foods but I eat what I want. I have fruit all the time. I find pineapple too stringy to chew. I buy jarred mandarin oranges and love those. I have eaten apples but no skin. I love very cold green grapes that are hard and crunchy. I eat melons, they are very easy to chew. Maybe ask your dietitian for help.
I haven't lost any weight for a real long time but I am maintaining and my doctor loves where I am now. I would still like to lose 40-50 pounds. I gave myself 2 years to get to a decent weight. The weight went on over many years and I know it takes many years to be happy with a new me. I don't exercise enough, that is my problem.
Good luck.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I have not changed at all. I did not let my band change me at all except my eating. Many years ago I did a crazy weight loss program and lost 40-60 pounds. I former friend said I changed when I became thinner. My husband said I didn't, she was jealous of my loss because she wore my 'fat' clothes.
I wish you a lot of good luck with your new journey.
