I was fine maybe still a little tired, but nothing major. I started working after 2 weeks and work In a hospital where I walk and stand a lot. No pain at that time. You'll be good and may feel like dancing!!

Thank you! I think I'll be okay, I'm off work to recuperate so that should help too.

I'm 15 days out today. I am feeling pretty good. So things that helped me are the fact that I can get my fluids in really well. I credit that to the fact I bought 2 oz red solo cups and it reminded me to sip consistently. The other thing I did was walk. On 4 days out I began walking for 10 minutes every waking hour. Then on day 6 increased the time to 15 minutes every 2 hours. Day 10 - 20 minutes every 2 hours. I also rested in between because that promotes healing also.

I'm having surgery on September 13, and have a wedding reception for my best friend to attend on September 29. I don't suspect that I'll feel much like dancing, and she already knows that I'm having surgery and can't eat or drink, but I definitely want to be there and Celebrate this amazing part of her life. Can some of you share how you were feeling that far out?
I have had several surgeries before and have a fairly high pain tolerance. This is a revision from a sleeve to the bypass, I just can't recall from when I had the sleeve how I was feeling after 2 weeks... I did go back to work after two weeks with my last surgery, so I'm guessing I'll be okay to go to a reception at 2 1/2 weeks?

I regained a year and a half out because I got pregnant. I have been unable to get back to pre-pregnancy weight and that wasn't even near my goal weight yet! So I understand your frustration.
I definitely recommend going back to Protein Shakes. It has helped me tremendously. You don't necessarily have to do it long term, but if you find that you're binging on sweets, a chocolate shake (even half of a shake) might nip that craving and help you get through the hardest part of restarting a diet.

There are vegan options for shakes, but I haven't tried them. I found this list on google, from PETA https://www.peta.org/living/food/pump-workouts-vegan-protein-powder/
It looks like it could be helpful.
I think your biggest challenge if vegan is the immediate post op stage where most people rely on shakes, cottage cheese, yogurt, Jello, etc to get through the healing part, so you may have to be just vegetarian and allow the dairy in your diet to make it through. Once you're over that, you should be able to choose a diet you want with more veggies as your food source, but use tofu and non-dairy Protein Shakes to meet your Protein goals.
Most post op people are on a Keto diet because, well, it works! And aside from the high fat intake (which isn't necessary for post-op bariatric patients because it's function is to aid in satiety in non-surgical folks, and is a LIMIT, not a GOAL), the protein and carb requirements are in line with what we need anyway. So it helps to follow keto in the sense that the keto community offers great meal ideas that keep the carbs in check and don't use added sugars.

    Hi [emoji112]
I'm 21 years old. My highest weight was around january this year, probably 344 lbs (I'm not completely sure about it, my scale couldn't measure more than 330 lbs).
I was 322lbs on the day of my surgery.
I wore 22w-24w on pants and 2x-3x shirts.
Today, 28 weeks post-op I'm 270lbs. I wear a size 18 on pants (I actually got to wear a pair of size 16 pants) and XL on shirts (and even L on some styles of shirts).

I'm kinda worried about my arms, legs and tummy but I'm hoping some discipline and excercise will help me avoid plastic surgery [emoji123]

Hi! When I had my sleeve done, it took a while to be able to tolerate eggs. That was one of the foods suggested to eat in the soft foods phase and I couldn't take it at all. Even now, 4 years post op, scrambled eggs sit heavy in my stomach. I can eat over easy or poached, etc and have no problem, but scrambled is still very filling to me, after just a few bites I will get a very uncomfortable feeling in my chest/stomach. Sometimes, when I go out to breakfast I'll get an omelet, bring home the leftovers, and it is about 3-4 meals for me depending on how mega sized the omelet is!
Being this far out, there's very little I can't tolerate anymore, but I'd say scrambled eggs and rice are very hard for me. I don't eat much rice anyway because of the empty carbs, but when my sister in law has a party there's always delicious puerto rican rice and I get the tiniest spoonful on my plate because more than two bites will leave me feeling icky.

You've made the choice to have surgery to stop yourself from yo-yoing and to give you a lifelong tool to success. There is absolutely no shame in that.
I had feelings of sadness when I had my surgery. Mainly that I had waited so long to do it - and I was 32 at the time! I had a sleeve and I'm having an extremely rare complication now so I'm revising to gastric bypass. I lost 150 lbs with my sleeve and was still obese because I was so heavy to start with. Now, I'm just looking forward to feeling healthy again (it's been a long, rough year of sickness and diagnosing my complication) and losing all the weight I intended to lose when I had my sleeve.
We all struggle. Even "skinny" people struggle. Being overweight is due to so many factors, none of which can be changed at this point. Did I contribute to my own obesity? Sure, but now I'm working on resolving it. Being sad does nothing but keep you feeling bad about yourself, and you are a strong person to take all the steps needed to get to your surgery date. I congratulate you on the hard work you've put in so far and wish you a fast recovery and great success in the future.
You haven't failed a thing! You're still alive to keep fighting! <3

Hi 👋🏽 before surgery I weighed 305 lbs , I wore a size 22/24 and I'm 5ft 7in. Today, two years after gastric bypass surgery I'm 175 lbs, I'm still 5ft 7in tall, but I wear a size 10 now and I feel 👍 my only issue now is the sagging crepey skin hanging from my thighs and arms ucky really grosses me out 🤢 But I can't afford cosmetic surgery so I have to improvise by covering up all the time

I'm 5'10" and I was 310 and wore size 3x tops and 22 pants. I am 3 months post gastric bypass and now weigh 238 and am a size 18 pants and size 2X or even 1X top, depending on style. I am wondering if I will get down to a size 12 pants if I hit my goal weight of 180-185, or if I will be something like a size 14. Not sure.

I was thinking about my "goal weight" and I really have more of a "goal size" in my mind. I tried to research what a typical weight range would be for my height and potential goal weight and found a forum of body builders who gave their stats. It was really interesting to read through, but due to the nature of the site, there wasn't much plus size response!
I realize that sizing fluctuates, and the same ht/wt people can be differing sizes, but I thought it would be interesting to see what other people's clothing sizes are.
    I'll start!
    I'm currently 5'10" 330. I wear a size 24 or 26 pants and 3x top.
My lowest weight was 310 and I was a size 22 or 24 pant and 1x/2x top.

Lost lapband 10/2014. Worked out [emoji123] at the gym hard but weight still crept up to 276/bursting a size 22. Went back to surgeon for RNY. Current weight 233/size 20.

I have always been most "turned off" to bypass because of dumping, but I was reading another thread here yesterday that discussed that dumping doesn't even happen to everyone! Some people have it, some don't, sometimes it's terrible, sometimes it's just uncomfortable. Those who did experience it also said that as time goes on, it gets better. It's not a "forever" condition in most cases.
I'm hoping to make it to 220 with surgery as a goal weight. With my weight loss already I know that I will have a lot of excess skin so if I can get down to 220, I think that will be when I start thinking about a tummy tuck! But.. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.

I am 5' 4". My highest weight was 280# a few years ago. My weight when deciding on surgery was 256# and I wrote a 22 pants and 2-3 x shirts. I am 8 weeks out. I am at 198# My pants size is 20, and still 2x in shirts butI did get rid of alot of my shirts that seemed baggy and feel better in shirts that conform to my waist a little better. Yesterday I noticed at work I could feel my scrub pants sagging in the but area and I know I've lost a bra cup lol oh and I'm starting to get little bat wings so hopefullyI can tone those at the gym. But I love laying in bed and being able to feel my hip bones. I still fit I my dresses but I feel they lay more flattering to my figure. I'm so happy I decided to have this surgery and with the lifestyle changes I'd made prior I knew I was ready to commit to the changes needed.
