Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

I have not been on here in a while, I think that is what happens when we get to be a year out, we are busy with other things - like life! September 14th is my date, I started out as an 18/20 and 225lb and am now in a size 8 or 6 and am at 150. I'd still like to lose 5 more, but ok if it doesn't happen. I'm more about toning up and adding muscle now. I do squats and lift weights for my arms every day. I still have days were I just don't see it, and I'll always be one of those that have to log everything in my fitness pal because my head plays tricks on me! I'm so thankful for my sleeve and am glad everyone is hanging in there! Look at how far we have come in a year!
  2. I am 5' 3.5" and am 42. I also began with a 40 BMI at 225lbs. I am 11 months out and down 73lbs. and in a size 8 with about 7 lbs to goal. My body has changed several times over the course with some belly and thigh skin loosing up and then righting up. I began lifting weights as soon as I could and now they are part if my routine so my arms have responded well. These last 3 months things have slowed down but my weight seems to be redistributing and I'm now focused on tightening up more than anything! Sent from my iPhone using VST

Lissa, you look wonderful! green, I am also curious about my labs in September! I have done so many things this summer now that I am 70lbs lighter that I never thought I would again! I began at 225lb and am now 155lb. I really want to lose about 10 more lbs and one more size, but I'm ok with it. I sometimes get really confused on amount of calories, which seems weird! I was stalled for over a month and my husband (who is a football coach) kept telling me to up my calories and I told him he was crazy and then I finally decided to try it and the scale started moving again! I was eating about 800-900 and now I consistently get around 1000-1100 and I feel better. I have more energy. I am now trying more to strengthen and tighten everything so that is why I'm not very stressed about the last 10lbs. Great job everyone!

Binging or just plain eating bad

We have all been there, when I feel like I need to gain back control I plan plan plan everything! I make sure and have all my Protein Snacks and meals on hand and I measure it out and put it in ziplocs. I know what I'm going to cook for dinner and then I stick to it! I'm one if those I have to track everything in My Fitness Pal because my brain likes to play tricks on me! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Dr David Kim/Dr Bridget Holden

I was sleeved 9 months ago by Dr. Holden. She also fixed a hiatal hernia and I have not had any acid issues since! Trophy Club was top notch! I was the first surgery and after my leak test the next morning I was dressed and ready to go and was discharged that afternoon so I spent one night. Dr. Kim's staff is top notch and when I go in for my checkups they answer all my questions and are supportive. I have lost 70 lbs and 5 sizes and have 10 more lbs to go. Best thing I have ever done! Will i loose my big girls?

I am down 70 lbs and 10 lbs to goal, and have gone from a 44DD to a 36C/D and they have deflated! I'm ok with the smaller size for my smaller body but at some point I'm going to need a lift! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    The goal weight number

Laura, don't get me wrong, I still weigh at least every other day, I just have been so surprised by that at this point my goals have changed more to fixing the flabby because I can see the goal in lbs and size in sight! I never ever thought I would get to that point! But I am also one of those that have to log every bite because my mind is not truthful with me! It might tell me you have eaten way too much today when I actually haven't! Or it might whisper go ahead and have 2 Cookies...in which case I tell it to shut up, or I eat 1 cookie, log it and move on! I am also with you on me being 42 and my parts hanging a little lower! I seem to be ok on skin but my poor "girls" have deflated! Sent from my iPhone using VST

    The goal weight number

I am 9 1/2 months out and I originally had a number in mind that I would have been totally happy with. I made that number and have reevaluated it several times. What is funny is that at some point along the way I quit stressing over the scale number and as I became more active it became more about toning and tightening and endurance for me! I also decided instead of the scale number, more about a size for me in clothes that nine months ago I would have thought was impossible! I have about 10 lbs and 1 more size to go, but I know it will happen in the next 2 months! My doctor did tell me for my frame he wouldn't want to see me in the low normal range for my bmi but that is all he said. But of course that is because when I go in I'm one of "those people" with spreadsheets, charts and my fitness pal printouts! LOL Sent from my iPhone using VST

    Do you ever..

I am with everyone else, seeing myself reflected can definitely still catch me off guard. I also catch myself still having trouble believing I can cross my legs and keep them that way for as long as I want! Or I will wrap my hand around my own wrist and am amazed that I can do that. It is weird! I also recently went away for three days and as I'm putting my clothes in my suitcase my husband pointed out that just cause my clothes are so little now, does that mean I need 20 outfits and I thought he is right! Unexpected bonus my clothes don't take up near as much space in my luggage, which leave more room for lots of shoes

    movie snacks

I pop my own 100 calorie popcorn at home put it in a ziplock and smuggle it on in! I also like the cocoa almonds or beef Jerky and if I'm really craving it I might take one sugar free piece of candy. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Jenn, I actually have been upping my calories this last month and try to push to get somewhere between 1000 to 1100 and usually am pretty close. But I think you are right that my body went oh look she had 2 bites of bread and some vodka cranberrys! Lol. I don't care I'll take it and try to switch things up a bit! Maybe now that my exercise level is higher maybe I need to extra calories. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call

Had something very confusing happen this weekend! I have been in a stall for like a month and still have like 13 lbs to goal, but I have just been thinking if I just keep making good choices, getting my protein in, drinking lots of water and I have upped my cardio I would eventually get there, right? This weekend went to Shreveport for my dad's birthday and thought I'm going to splurge and not feel guilty and get back on track on Monday, so I have many low-cal cocktails, a bite or two of dessert, movie popcorn and snacked! I know I consumed a lot more calories than I have been up to this point and got on the scale this morning and lost a lb!!! What is that about???? I was really stuck for the last month but doing everything right and then do what I consider now splurging this weekend and it got the scale moving again? Makes no sense to me! Anyone else have any theories?
  13. I'm 5'3 1/2 and 8 months out. Began my journey at 225 and am now 156 and trying to get to 145. So almost at 70 lbs. it has really slowed down but I expected that the closer you are to goal and the smaller percentage you have to lose. This has been the best thing I have ever done! I have lost 5 sizes gone from an 18/20 to 8's and 10's. I'm so much more active. I don't consider that I was a lightweight, I agree with Laura, fat is fat. My BMI was almost 40!! I will get there by just keeping on keeping on! Sent from my iPhone using VST

newgrandmother, thank you for the encouraging words, I guess maybe our bodies just need us to be patient and keep on keeping on! Every day is a new day with our sleeves and I know I am so thankful for all the changes in my life! I never guessed that the psychological part would be the hardest! I do know that I have adopted that this is my lifestyle now and I just eat normally. I make sure and pack healthy protein snacks and lunch, but I don't stress if I'm going out to eat, I just pick a healthy option on the menu and eat my portion of it. I think that by losing a little slower I know that my skin is doing pretty good, I'm lifting weights and doing squats, etc. as I'm going and other than deflated chest all the other skin seems to tighten.
