  1. SW 280, VSG DOS 263 LW 172 but weighed 177 for about 4years. Got GERD and went up to 233! Revision to Bypass 11/2/20 and today 165! Not even a year our yet. So yes you will lose. Not as much as the first time but I’m still working out a lot and I drop when I eat more calories. I’m at 1,000-1,200 a day right now and run 5x a week 2 miles a day and weights 2x a week. I wish I would have don’t this the first time around lol BUT the surg was so painful I was like omggg why lord. My doc said well you have to understand I had to make the stomach slim again since it was stretched , THEN do the bypass so it was a lot of work. Yikes! Lol so thankful. Anyways good luck! Now I get my plastic surgery so I can feel comfy and get rid of this old skin lol

  2. Thanks all! I’m 39 but look way older now. I was sleeved in 2012 and had acid reflux and weight gain w it. So they did bypass to fix the acid which I love but I dropped so fast in 2 months. Had my bypass 11/2 and I’m 5’3 176. Goal is 150 and then I get my PS. I went yesterday to the cosmetic n laser np. She said not a big deal but to me man it’s really really saggy and bad. I’ve never had it before and it bothers me more than anything. I guess too, I’ll take being healthier over tight skin nice neck lol it’s just hard seeing it

I'm seeing my surgeon next week and expecting him to recommend revision to bypass for my weight gain and Gerd. I'm concerned about the hunger some of you are describing, but I'm really concerned about not feeling the restriction. Does that feeling go away after the bypass revision?

Well it did. Took a couple months for the hunger to go away. I was 216 on revision day. And today I’m 186. I do not regret it. It boy it’s a lot harder than the sleeve. You really gotta chew your food or it will get stuck and if I eat greasy food m tummy hurts and I dump. It helps tho cuz then I make sure not to make bad choices. Lol I’m very happy. I burning and on my reflux med anymore. Soooo nice shy a relief! I do not regret this! :)

Following up to see how your weight loss is going? I am doing well. Weight loss is slow and I have seem to stall as I am close to goal. I am happy with results though. It is definitely different then the sleeve and I miss things about the sleeve as I don't feel the same fullness as I did with the sleeve. It hurts if I eat to much. I can now eat bread which I couldn't with the sleeve. A little, not a lot which I find funny. I tolerate different things than what I did with the sleeve. Are you finding the same as you explore different foods? Also, I am finding things tasting different. I tolerate liquids with no problem at all, almost too well. Definitely, tolerate liquids much better than I did with the sleeve and so I have to be very careful with this. So, I am curious how you have found your journey so far?

YES! I was sleeved in 2012. After my GB I was hungry for 4 weeks! :( it’s like okay yes I don’t have reflux which is SOOO nice but sometimes I think wow I should have just stayed w my sleeve. But now that I’m losing weight I’m good lol okay try hard boiled egg smashed w lil light mayo, avocado, fat free Beans, cauliflower mash. Measure 1/4 cup. Use baby spoon. Set a timer or stopwatch so you can see how fast you are eating. Set it for 20 min. You need to take that long to eat. Best wishes to you, your energy will return. Since my surgery date I’ve lost 19 pounds too but yes yours is fast! Hope you feel better. Walk daily.

I’m pre-op right now, I am getting a band revision to GB on December 17. I’ve heard that, with GB, you no longer get the “growling stomach” sensations of hunger. Can you guys who have had your revisions describe what your new hunger feels like... Do you still get the growling? Is it nausea? Emptiness? Can you put into words what this “hunger/starving” feeling is like? Thanks in advance for any insight.

Hi, yes it’s actually a hungry starving feeling. Emptiness is good to describe it. It’s so weird. I have no growling but it’s that feeling as if it should be growling or did long ago. So weird. I guess it’s just a starting feeling. Besides feeling weak cuz my body needs food. That’s the only thing I can say about it. Even after I eat I still feel hungry. It’s so weird. So different from the sleeve which I loved. Glad I have no acid reflux but hmmm I’m wondering if it was worth it lol we shall see! :)

Oh my goodness I was wondering the same thing about myself. I have not ate but dang I want some chicken.
I don’t remember wanting any kind of food when I had my sleep done 2012.

just had revision to bypass 12/02/20

Yes oh my so hungry it’s crazy. But some days I know it’s because I don’t wanna drink the Protein it’s so gross now and I crave spicy stuff and I never did before lol so weird!

Yes I’m tired too. But dang that’s a lot of weight that’s great!! I was 216 on surgery. Day and now 203. So 18 pounds in 22 days. Not getting enough Protein makes me so sleepy. I can only do like 40g.

  8. Hello! I was sleeved in 2012 and lost 105! My acid reflux started getting worse. Especially at night too woke up w sore throat from the acid and tried diff medications. I got the bypass for acid reflux AND weight loss. More the acid I just want it gone. I’m 1.5 weeks post op. Had my bypass 11/2. I’ve lost 10 pounds so far in the week I’ve been home lol I’m feeling great. I will say the pain for this revision was horrible. My friend had bypass and didn’t have this much pain. Today I’m able to get around a lot and even house clean. I’m on protonix for 3 months but I was thinking I would not need it hmmm not sure but I do feel acid if I have Gatorade zero. Hopefullly it’s just because it’s so soon after surgery. But you will lose. Well I think so, I am. SW230, 2 week 1,000 cal diet low carb=216, after surgery 216. 10 days later I’m at 206. Goal 170. :) good luck!

  9. Yeah the restriction is different. I’ve been eating 1/2 cup of yogurt and then stopping trying to see how I feel like am I full idk? Then I hiccup and I’m like okay I’m sure I’m full. I think it’s good we aren’t feeling it. Means we aren’t filling out stomach up yay! 7-10 days I do liquids. Tomorrow i can have soft foods and I cannot wait I just want an egg! I think with regular food we will feel it. For now I’ll just use measuring cup and only eat that. When you hear gurgling or hiccup stop? Who knows lol I’m glad I did this though.

  10. I had a sleeve and kept off my 90 pounds for 6 years. But! I stoped using my tool thinking since I can’t eat that much I won’t gain well for married and are small but bad then more and stretched my sleeve. Still ate well at times but because of health problems I. March could not work out and I gained 10 pounds in honeymoon and 28 since covid. Bad I know. Anyways I also had acid reflux but wanted to lose and keep off. Did the bypass and I’ve dropped 17 pounds already. I’m happy I did it. Just got it Monday and I’m in pain it’s WAY worse than the sleeve. But hey we can all get seconds chances we just have to stick to it so I’m joining a support group Monday and I’m logging all my fluids and food In myfitnesspal it’s the only way I can do it.
