5 days post op and Starving!

The first few weeks are the hardest. It will get much easier. My surgeon told me to make sure I got 3-4 cups of fluids a day to stay hydrated and work up to 64 ounces in time. For the first few weeks, you may only be able to take very small sips. Keep your liquids nearby and take small sips all day to get in what you can. If you're getting that, you should be good there. You won't be able to get the full amount in until 3-4 weeks probably. I'm 3 months post op and feeling great! As for eating, every doctor is different so I would suggest confirming with your doctor. Don't try too push it as you don't want to cause any harm.

Getting your protein in makes a big difference in your weight loss too. Mine really slows down if I'm not. I don't care to eat in the morning so I have a premier protein drink (30 gr protein, 2 gr sugar and 160 cal). It keeps my protein up and an easy breakfast. I mix their caramel with ice and coffee, or blend their strawberry with half a frozen banana and both are very good. You can do this.

    Started the liver shrink today!

I second the caramel premier protein. I make iced coffee with it.
  5. The chiropractor has really helped me.

band to sleeve pain and anxiety

    How are you feeling now?

How did you handle Nausea after sleeve

Walking helps. Sipping water very slowly too. The stomach growling is normal. The first few days I couldn't stomach protein drinks either. For now, just staying hydrated is your main focus. My doctor advised me that as long as I could get 3-4 cups of liquid in that's enough to stay hydrated. I hope you start feeling better soon.

    Considering revision

I would definitely talk to your doctor about what may be the best option for you. I had. And slippage and revised to the sleeve. I did have some reflux related to the slipped band. Post revision, I have none but I think my issue was solely the band being slipped and not gerd.

    Band to Sleeve Success?

I also had mine done in one procedure. He removed scar tissue and fixed a hiatal hernia. I had the t done March 14 and started at 230 lbs on date of surgery. After 8 weeks, I'm down 27 lbs. It's still early but so far I'm much happier with the sleeve and glad to have the band out. It was a harder surgery to bounce back from but worth it for me.

    Pain near old port site

I just converted from the band to the sleeve on Mar 14. They were able to do it in one procedure. He also removed scar tissue and a hiatal hernia (from too much vomiting with the slipped band).

    Yucky Days

It could be a simple matter of dehydration. Have you tried Gatorade zero or smart water to help?

    Yucky Days

I'm 13 days post op and also had a hiatal hernia and scar tissue removal (lap band revision to sleeve) and can relate to your experience. Each day seems to bring improvements, small or big, so I'm glad about that.

    Revision Eligibility

I just revised from lap band to the sleeve as it was so uncomfortable for me and I didn't like always having to adjust it or stuck episodes. It's great for many, just wasn't for me. Can you try a pouch reset diet for a few days and cut the soda to try to get your restriction back?
  14. I had revision done 3/14. I took 9 days and glad I did. I ended up having a lot of scar tissue removed and a hiatal hernia, I didn't know I had, repaired. It's an adjustment getting liquids and protein in and having energy for a full day. Best of luck to you!

    why no soda??

I think the nutritionist told me it could stretch your pouch. Also, cause discomfort. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
