    how long did you wait

I was self pay and it took me less than a month from first appointment to surgery. I used True Results and the whole thing felt like cattle call. I do not recommend my experience to anyone.

    Signs of Slippage

I read that the food doesn't actually sit in our pouch, but goes through in about a minute...and that's why we have to wait a minute in between the bites ???³. I don't drink with my meals just because I noticed that I can eat more if I drink. Can you explain what actually caused your slip please?

I Was Called FAT In Public..... AGAIN!

Everyone is right - it was all about her and not you! She was probably having a bad day and took it out on you. No excuse, but try not to take it personally. Definitely don't let it bring you down and hinder your success! You are a superstar!

  9. Hmm...I know what you mean - I've been overeating my whole life also. Especially if it's something that I really enjoy eating, like pizza or pasta. But you know...ever since I got my band restriction right, I don't want to keep eating after I am full. It's like someone turned on the switch and it all makes sense now. Sometimes I don't even finish my band-portion mean because I feel full or start experiencing my soft stops. How is your restriction? Are you in the green zone??
  10. Yes yes...after I was mostly healed, but before my first fill, I could eat anything and everything. Some call it the " bandster hell". Hang in there and try to make healthy choices as much as you can. It will get easier after you get some restriction in your band, which will cause you to stay fuller longer after consuming less food.

    Who is this person???

That's great! Way to go! Now I just wish I had all that enthusiasm and energy
  12. That's awesome! Way to go? How long did it take you?
  13. So I just got my unflavored Unjury protein in the mail... was so excited! Started adding it to shakes, yogurt, oatmeal, pudding, etc. It tastes pretty good... so I thought "score"...finally I will be able to get all my protein in without actually having to eat chunks of meat (I hate meat). However, second day into it, I noticed that I am getting very bloated, gassy, and uncomfortable around the lower abdomen. Is igt just me or has anyo ne experience this with protein powders? Thank you!

    GI problems and protein powder

Nope, I am not lactose intolerant. I've been drinking milk and eating all sorts of dairy all my life. Not sure what to think about it.

    How many calories?

It is also important not to starve your body. If you dont eat enough calories, your body may go into starvation mode and hoard all the nutrients, causi g your weight loss to slow down or stop altogether. I know hos hard it can be to find time to work out with kids, work, and school....trust me, I have been there myself. Start out small - every bit counts: take stairs instead ov a lift, park furthef awayfrom the building, take dogs or kids for a walk...stuff like that. Theh also have some aweso me short workout DVDs out there. My personal favorite is Tony Horton' s 10-minutes trainer DVD.

To fill or not to fill......

I agree! You are doing fantastic! 3-4lbs per week is awesome! Tighter bands are associated with more problems. Plus, losing weight too quickly may lead to gallbladder problems. Keep up the great work!

Love my lap band with plication!

Congratulations! That's a great achievement! May I ask how lap band with plication is different from just a lap band? And what made you decide on this type of surgery? Thank you

    Failure

Newbie, it's never too late! Whatever mistakes you've made in the past - you can learn from them and move on! Like the others said -get a new doctor, find a good nutritionist, join a support group, and get back to basics. You can take control of your life and make your band work for you! Don' t give up... you can do it!

What's on your "Do Not Eat" list?

I can't eat doughy bread, like biscuits or fresh French bread, etc. No matter how much I chew...it just clumps up and makes me slime.

Iler, the bad breath is caused by our high Protein - low carb diets. http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/od/lowcarbliving/a/Is-Your-Low-Carb-Diet-Giving-You-Bad-Breath.htm

    Odd Fill....

Sounds weird! I used to go to True Results in San Antonio, TX and their PAs did my fills. When I moved to Germany, the local doctor measured the amount of fluid in my lapband before a fill, and it was identical to what True Results PA told me. Sorry that I don't have a good answer for you.
