I love this, Cheri you are an inspiration!
I am 5.5 months out and have *only* lost 53 lbs. I was stalled for the entire month of Jan but seem to be making steady progress again. I feel pretty pleased with myself but then I see other people losing 53 lbs in their first 3 months! I'm glad to know there is hope for me and that its possible for me to lose ALL of my excess weight. The surgeons say 60-80% is realistic, but I want to beat the odds and lose it all. Just because it hasn't already happened does not mean it won't happen.
The saying 'comparison is the thief of contentment' is so true!

I want to wear khakis with my shirt tucked in. I find these to be the least forgiving pants on earth, I have tried on million pair and always look terrible!
I can't wait to wear a skirt and not get rash on my upper thigh from the friction. Ouch!
Mostly, I can't wait to not be constantly thinking about food. What am I eating next? Where can we eat out this weekend? Friends coming from out of town? Where will we be eating. God, I am sick of being ruled by food!
    C'mon 8/31!!!

Hang in there, this is great advice on the carbs and tracking. I am 6 months out down 60lbs with 25 lbs more to go. I found that the last few months it has slowed way down. I track every bite in myfitnesspal and my doctor says to keep my carbs under 100, but I tend to stay around 50. Since I always do Protein first I really don't have room for the carbs other than those in a bit of fruit. I know if I am patient and just keep on track with my Protein and fluids it will happen!

I did my 5k and it was a pier of cake! I signed up with a friend who is trying to get back in shape and just started running. We stuck together throughout the race and this caused me to have a much slower time that I could have. She needed to stop several time and I just ran in place and cheered her along. I was a little disappointed that I didn't eat to see an accurate time for myself but she was so thankful for my support that I got over it pretty fast. Even at my reduced pace I came in #6,120 out if 15,000 runners.
I'm looking at Cinco de mayo for my next race

Guys I highly recommend the couch to 5k program! It's great for anyone to get into the habit or running. It starts slow and you go at your own pace. I got such a great feeling of accomplishment for each little milestone. That was so helpful at times when the scale wasn't moving.
I just ran a 5k on St Patricks Day, it was actually EASY for me, I never imagined I'd be saying that!

I had surgery 8/31. Have lost about 55 lbs. only lost 6 since the new year. Still about 25 lbs from goal.
The scale isn't moving much these days but I can fit into as size 10 (started at 235 lbs sz 18/20) so I'm not too depressed about the scale.

for boob issues while running try the Enell Sports Bra...I'm not going to lie it is ugly as sin but keeps my girls in place, about the only one I've found that does

I'd rather just wear a girdle. I started at 365, there's no wrap in existance that's gonna tuck that skin in.

Frozen yogurt and popcorn. I am not trying sweets of any kind. I did poke my tongue in the top of a cupcake and then ran away.

Just checking in here- only a few more weeks until my race. I have only been running once a week due to pain in my hip. I do 4 miles minimum and a leisurely pace. The race is a 5k and my goal was to be able to run the entire thing, I know I can easily do that. Such a big change form even. A few weeks ago!
I hope everyone is well and on track for their St Pat's goals!

I really appreciate this post, because I was sleeved, 8/30/12, and to date I have lost 58 lbs. I was losing weight so fast at one time, I started to worry. Then I stalled 2 weeks, then loss 3 more lbs., and now I have stalled again. It has been almost 2 months now, and no loss here. And I admit that I wanted to get discouraged one day, and I had to pick myself up, and remind myself that I have lost 58lbs. That is a lot of weight, I don't care what anybody says. I have received so many compliments on my appearance. This past Sunday I wore 5 inch heels to church, and was comfortable. I love the new me, and had to quickly get rid of that sour spirit. God has been so good to all of us. He allowed the medical field to advance to the point that we all had the opportunity to have this surgery. We are truly blessed. I have people telling me that they wish that they can have this surgery now. Including a relative of mine who has ridiculed me about my weight for years. She was denied the surgery, by the way. So I appreciate your post, and everyone else's. We all are in this together, so why not encourage one another. When you mess up, post it here, you might be stopping me from making the same mistake. We all are human, and love to eat. I mean some of this food is really good, but half of it is not good for us. That's just the truth. So let's not be afraid to admit when we make mistakes, and mess up. Admit it and let's be there for each other. I know we don't know one another, but that's what the forum is for. You don't have to know me or see me to be an inspiration. I want all of us to live and be healthy. Be encouraged!!
