  1. Scout thank you for all the information you have shared with us on your plastics journey it has really given me a lot to think about. Thank goodness your swelling is finally gone down. I've been thinking of maybe doing plastics in Mexico to save on money. I had my sleeve done there. But now you have opened my eyes that complications can occur and what would I do with my doctor in Mexico. So many doctors do not want to treat you after someone else has done surgery. I am going to continue on my weight loss, save more money and have my surgery done closer to home. I am also going to continue to watch your journey as long as you continue to share with us. Thank you.

  2. I was able to get my panni/tt 100% covered.

First I printed the criteria fro panniculectomy, from my ins. website.

second, took that to my pain management dr., who wrote a letter echoing EXACTLY what ins. wanted. I have alot of spinal issues.

I also wrote a letter explaining all the health issues that have resolved with weight loss, how important exercise is in keeping the weight off, and how extra skin impedes me.

    Great ideal:)

  3. Livinglifeout, My diet on an average day goes wake up, have a premixed Protein shake. I drink Rockin Refuel Muscle builder, 190 calories, 30g Protein. Then for lunch, I try to stick with only solid protein. Today, I went to an Italian restaurant with clients, and had an antipasta platter for lunch, so I had some procuitto, some mortadella, and salami, pecorino, asiago, and motzarella. I had about 1/2 a slice of each of meat and about 2 bites of each cheese. I also ate 4 olives, and a small piece of bread about 1/4 the size of my fist with some olive oil. Typically I only have protein though, like left over steak, or roast chicken. I can eat about 3-4 ounces of solid protein for lunch before I am full typically. If I have a snack, I will usually have beef Jerky or sandwich meat. For dinner tonight I am having coq au vin (chicken) and I might have a few tablespoons or 1/4 of a cup of rice with it. I am usually around 700-800 calories in a day. I usually have solid protein and veggies for dinner. I track on MyFitnessPal, my username is 920amy if you use MyFitnessPal feel free to add me!

Great info, thank you for taking the time to help me..I'll add you:)

  4. Did you fast for 12 hours before the test ?? Consider retesting! I'm a RN in a clinic and if it's significantly higher after major weight loss I would recommended testing again, especially considering your doc wants to put you on meds. It could have been a fluke, it happens more than people think. Just my opinion.

Great suggestion definitely going to ask for a retest. He wanted to test in six weeks, but I really don't want to take the meds.

  5. Those cholesterol meds kill your liver! Your liver is already stressed enough processing all the fat that you are losing. If you are worried about your cholesterol then eat leaner meat, and less beef or pork. Some shell fish are really high in cholesterol as well, like shrimp.....very high. Make sure to eat a lot of high Fiber veggies, it helps lower as well. I am serious about those meds...read all of the warnings for them. There are reasons why they need to do liver tests before you take them, and while you are taking them. They also have no proof that they will actually prevent anything. My cholesterol has never been lower since surgery btw. I have dropped major points. Good luck!

Very good points. I'm going to hold off and fix the diet as you suggest. Totally cutting out all but lean Protein.

  6. I am 4 months out, just had my blood done, everything came out good, cholesterol is way lower than it had been before surgery, but now I am low on Vitamin D. I think it's just because I am very anti-sun. At any rate, I am definately more Protein geared now than I was before surgery, and my cholesterol levels have gone down.

Thanks for your input, I'm low on Vitamin D also, even though I take an over the counter vitamin D nightly. Would you please share a daily menu with me?
