I was just informed I got approved for my work transfer to Notting Hill VIC, Australia and need suggestions on a lap band doc. I'm 9 months in so just need someone for any issues I may have or any checkups/fills I would need. And I'm from the US, so be more specific on who you are referring so I can figure it out . Thanks!

I have not experienced the acid reflux anymore since surgery, my lapband surgeon has it in the ICF that when he's doing the lapband surgery and runs into a hiatal hernia, he will repair it at the same time, which he did.
-
Does anyone think the length of the flight would have any impact? I'm moving to Australia from the US in the near future and was concerned about having to get unfilled for the really long flight, but I would rather not since I'm currently in the green zone. How long does the extra restriction last after the flight?

I would have acid reflux symptoms once in a while, but never anything severe/often enough to go to a doctor, but found out I had a hernia after I woke up from lapband surgery .

Thank you labwalker, but they are linking less sleep with weight issues, and fortunately that is not an issue for myself.

Has anyone heard of or experienced slowed downed or stalled weight loss after taking a statin (ie. Lipitor, Crestor)?

Great post and great job! Very inspirational. -
I like Truvia too and I find it to be sweeter than Splenda and find myself using less. Don't bother with Purevia, that stuff is not sweet at all, but I'm going to use it up since I paid the money for it.

Looks like it's plateau time , I'm up to 170, but keep hovering between 169 and 170. But I'll admit my regular walking has not been consistent these last few weeks. -

Watched Biggest Loser, Can I do this myself?
2012 replied to fashionstylist's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't forget they have the luxury to work out like 8 hours a day and do you ever watch the "after" the Biggest Loser shows? Not trying to be a downer, but it's hard on your body to lose it as fast as they do and you don't learn for the long term on how to actually eat and keep it off. And I'm not sure what you mean by pureeing your food forever with the band, you make sure you chew well, but eat solids. If you aren't ready for this, don't do it. But personally I needed my own reminder on a long term basis to keep the weight off, not just lose and gain like I've done all my life. You can do this if you want it bad enough. -
Hey Kim, it's looking okay over here in Kentucky and I'm doing good. Sorry to hear about your stuck episodes, sounds like you may need a little removed. I hit the green zone and hope to stay there for awhile, but I go to the doc in a week, so I watch closely this week to see how I'm doing. I'm also moving to Australia in about 2 months, so I'm going to question if I need to do anything special for that long of a plane ride, I hope not, but in case I need an unfill, I fortunately met someone on here to help me with a doc over there. Hope everyone else is doing good! I would love to lose 40 more, but not sure if that's really feasible . And have a great time in Florida and then Maui, that is awesome!

According to the website you can log in exercise towards rewards, does anyone know about or have experience with this website? https://everymove.org/ It looks interesting and they hooked up with MFP, getting stuff for free for exercising would be pretty cool.

Definitely fluids and those udon noodles are thick and good, but tough to tackle (used to work in a Jap restaurant and would eat the udon bowl all of the time, but probably won't try it now ). Feel better soon! We live and learn as we go.

Kitchenette at work is full of yummy foods and desserts

Walk away, just walk away . They have good stuff in the break room all of the time and I just walk away with my water. You can do this! Some people sniff the food, but that just looks silly, haha! -
Moving to Notting Hill VIC, Australia, need a Lapband doc, suggestions?
2012 replied to 2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thank you so much, maybe I can take you out to lunch or dinner when I get there for the help! I'll be in touch, once we know how long the VISA takes to get settled, I know for sure when I'll be moving. I can't wait! -

And hopefully not a stupid question, but I guess I can take some sort of public transportation to get there? I don't think I'll have a car and am trying to find an apartment in walking distance from work (literally emailing people right now ), but I doubt I'll get a car. -

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it! I will definitely get in contact with you, I just found out today and need to get things straight to see my timeline, they are telling me 6 weeks and I'm super excited and kind of freaking out at the same time Fortunately I already have an appointment next week with my doc, and am currently in the green zone, but things change and I'm even thinking I may have to get an unfill for the really long plane ride (hope not, in a nice sweet spot right now), but lots of questions and I'll be PMing you soon . -
I'm interested and it looks like you can low-carb it, so it would fit well within my range per my NUT.

Denied by Premera Blue Cross, could use some advise regarding financing/ self-pay
2012 replied to light_lady's topic in Insurance & Financing
I used my car and refinanced it and got lucky and had enough value to finance enough to pay for the surgery at only a 3.5% interest rate. -

Thank you Lisa! -
I know you said her, but it looks like you went to Dr. Watkins and I know he is aggressive with fills, so you will be on track very soon. And if you are still near West Chester, how about going to their support groups? You may live far way and this is not feasible, but a thought. I went to his seminar, but chose someone closer to me for surgery and recognized the name .
