    2 months of Nothing!

I have never heard of this "A lot of weight loss patients are advised to stay away from trainers because bariatric patients are different and have different needs, or have a trainer that is familiar with bariatric patient needs." and not sure why this would apply to a lapband patient, can you please elaborate for my own knowledge, I'm interested?

    string cheese & sushi

I just had Sashimi for dinner tonight and it went fine, it easier to chew, high protein and you avoid the sticky rice. I did have sticky rice on the side, but after 8 pieces of Sashimi, I only ate about 3 tablespoons before I hit my limit. I have eaten Sushi with no problems, but the rice fills you up fast and can cause people problems pretty easily. Kroger has a colby and mozarella combo string cheese that is really good.
  4. I totally understand where you are coming from. I tried my damnedest to stick to the liquids, mushies, soft, then regular food after each fill, but I can't do it now. I'll mostly do the liquids, but always end up eating softer foods that are more solid too early. Good luck, it's difficult and since you are exercising, your body is probably going to crave food even more . But at least you are getting back on track and will make your goal!

    Omega-3

There is a liquid version with a lemony taste that is not too bad if you stick it in the refrigerator. It is oily, but if you can get past that, it's easy to take, I just shake it and swig it. I found it a vitamin shoppe: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/browse/sku_detail.jsp?id=9A-1001#.UfcW422rWJ0
  6. Whey isolate is the best and will probably be recommended by your NUT. The Body Fortress Vanilla Creme whey isolate from Wal-Mart is good. Nectar Sweet protein drinks, working on Chocolate Truffle right now, are really good and the other flavors are pretty good, these can be found at Vitamin Shoppe. If you hunt around on the web a bit, you can find a sample package of the Nectar protein drinks to find out what you like, my Vitamin Shoppe had the single servings of the Chocolate Truffle and Lemonade, but the one close to you may have more you could try. I like to mix my protein drinks with vanilla almond milk and the Kroger vanilla carbmaster milk. I have a sensitive stomach to any whey concentrates (which is not isolate) that use a lot of fillers, but the ones I mentioned above don't cause me any problems.

    MILK

I really like almond milk and I actually prefer the taste of Blue Diamond unsweetened vanilla to Silk unsweetened vanilla. A really good milk that can be more expensive is if you have a Kroger near you they have this newer carbmaster vanilla (make sure you get the vanilla if you like sweet) milk that is the most awesome stuff I have every had and it has 11 grams of protein in 1-8 oz glass and it's low carb. It's so good in my protein shakes, but I have split it up between almond and the carbmaster milk so I don't overdo it on my protein numbers, I've been getting in 110 plus on protein each day and sure don't want any kidney stones. And the acne thing, I'm 35 and still get them, the doc just chucks it up to hormones, damn hormones .
  9. Linda that's not self absorbed at all, it's just nice when people notice and the sad thing is, is that some people will be jealous. I have a lady that used to seem to support me for the most part, but she has struggled in losing weight and now some of her statements don't seem too positive or supportive, but I just brush it off. I know what I want and what I had to do to get here and I can't inspire them all, you know? I did try too, but you can't go drinking alcohol all of the time, eat crap food all of the time, with the occasional grape or apple, and expect to lose weight. Believe me I did that for years and it did nothing.

    Exercises Limited by LapBand??

I would not necessarily say they are limited, but I do not like the feel of doing jumping jacks, I'm a year out and still do not like to do them, so I don't . It feels like the port is moving up and down and just worries me.
  12. I'm here too Linda, just not as often, I log in daily on MFP (look me up if you want to be friends 2012ALM (that's to everyone BTW)), but not as consistent with logging on to LBT as I was in the beginning. It's crazy it's been a year and like Lucy said above, I'm getting a little too comfortable with myself. I have been on a plateau since April and my sweet tooth gets out of control quite often and like everyone else has said, sticking to exercise is hard. I started up again this week, but today I dropped the ball, but I'm just going to look at it as this is my off day and I now have to work out all other days of the week . Fortunately I have only gained 1 lb during this time and surprised because if you only know what I am eating sometimes . Anywhoo, I went to the NUT last week and expressed these concerns (getting too comfortable and sweet cravings) and she put me a pretty strict diet to get me back on track, hope it works! Let us know how you are doing!

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!

How is everyone doing with the carb cycling if you are currently doing it? This plateau is not budging for me and I have tried everything my nutritionist has advised with no change (for 3 months). I also think she is starting to not look at me as an individual and just keeps prescribing me the generalized advised that everyone gets. I'm down to my last 20lbs per the docs goal and 40lbs per my goal, so I would think things need to be changed and thought I would try this, it would not hurt.

    Fill questions

Everyone is different, but for me, it always takes about a week before I notice the fill.

    Bread/wraps??6weeks po

Check out Flat Out's, this is a more nutritional tortilla shell, higher fiber and lower carbs. They can be found in the deli section at Kroger and Wal-Mart. I like the light Italian myself, I have only been stuck on it once, but it was user error and I was eating too fast and not chewing enough.

    Harder than I thought

Track your food to hold yourself accountable and you can see the damage on paper/computer and that might help you get back into gear. I know it helps me. I start sliding when I avoid the tracking, but when I see that scale go in the wrong direction, I get back on track again by tracking. I use myfitnesspal.com, but there are several others, or even just doing a paper version of a diary.
  24. It was horrible, but it did not deter me . The nurse had very little experience and had bad information. I had to be stuck several times (and I'm terrified of needles anyway), had my first stuck episode on barium Fluid (they do the first fill with the fluro) and got to stay in the office for 1 1/2 hours through all of this mess. Good times . But since then I have had the same nurse (not the one in training that did my first fill) and she is awesome and does it perfect every time! I just realized I was not that clear on the information part above. She thought I only had 2cc in my band from surgery, I actually had 3, so when she added the typical first fill amount to the band, that put me over in the red zone and I had to burp and spit up (Pbing) and deal with disgusting barium fluid in the office while she ran around trying to get a hold of the doc and help from other staff. I don't understand why she was on her own already as obviously she was not ready.
