    Wedding anniversary.

Thank you everyone so much for your kind words and fabulous alternate ideas. Today has certainly been a struggle. My husband is aggravated with my mood and it hasn't turned out to be the best day. I guess we can chalk this one up to a lost celebration and move on. It's hard for the spouses to understand the physical, mental and emotional changes we are going through. He has no patience for me today so I have been holed up on the patio or in my room reading. I guess a visit to a therapist is in order. :-) I hope you all are having a great Sunday!

    January 2013 Sleevers?

January Sleevers. I went back to work full time on Monday. Both Monday and Tuesday I worked all day with no issues. Tuesday evening I tried to eat some of my mothers potato soup. She even puréed it for me! It was so good I ate it too fast and I filled up quickly. I didn't get really sick but just didn't feel well. I went to lay down around 6:45pm. I was going to lay down long enough to let my stomach ache pass. I fell asleep and never woke until 7:30 this morning! I am sure my body needed the sleep as that is an important part of recovery. My issue with this is that when I woke this morning I was already behind the 8 ball with my Water and Protein. It set me back all day long! Matter of fact, this is the worst day I have had since surgery. I'm just nauseous and feeling a little week. I did manage to get 70 ounces of water in today because I am afraid of being dehydrated. I also just had a small portion of my moms potato soup tonight with some Protein powder mixed in. I couldn't get much protein in today because of being so nauseous. Help? Did I do the right thing by at least getting my water in? I sure hope I feel better tomorrow.

    January 2013 Sleevers?

Omg! I'm so sorry to see this. I had read you were having problems with an incision but would have never imagined that in my life! I hope you can heal quickly. God bless you!

    January 2013 Sleevers?

Ok. To all the people who have recently had surgery. Heed my post. I had my first rut roh today! Was craving something with flavor so I heated up some progressive light beef and barley soup. Strained it down to the broth, which wasn't much. The first sip tasted sooooo good. It was hot and savory and yummy. So much more flavorful than any liquid I have had in 2 weeks. Well my excitement got the best of me and I must have sipped too much, too fast. I got cramps in my stomach and my chest started to hurt and OMG I had to go lay down for about a half hour before I felt better. Let me just say this: on the plus side I didn't throw up and I am a VERY quick learner. I will NOT do that again. Holy freaking pain batman!

    January 2013 Sleevers?

I have slept like a baby every night since surgery UNTIL last night. I had horrible nightmares all night and my husband had to wake me up three times from my "blood curdling screams" as he put it. I rarely dream that I can remember and it shook me to the bone last night. I start back to work tomorrow so I am a bit afraid of the kind of sleep I will get tonight. I hope your sleep pattern improves. I really believe a very important part of a successful recovery is the proper amount of sleep. Best if luck. I'll be thinking of you!

    January 2013 Sleevers?

I'm still in liquid phase. I have to go to puréed next before I get to soft mushies. What kinds of things did you eat on the puréed phase? Nor did you even have to go through that phase?
  9. I was actually sleeved on Monday the 28th. :-). I have attached the recipe. I didn't use the almond or butter extract, I just used vanilla extract. It is delicious but I made it to thick so make sure you get whatever consistency you think you can handle. Good luck!

    HURT BY COWORKERS

    That post? Is effing awesome!!
  11. Good evening everyone! I am five days post op and feeling fantastic. I was up and out of the house and was gone all day until late this afternoon. I have no stomach pain, I have no incision pain, all of my gas pain is gone. I feel unbelievably fortunate to have gotten through the recovery thus far with very little pain. I am having trouble finding Protein shakes that do not make me gag. But when I have to I am able to get them down. I found a cake batter Protein shake recipe online last night with 35 g of protein. I gathered all the ingredients today while I was out and I just made one for myself. It is freaking fantastic! If anyone is looking for something different this would be the way to go. It has very little sugar maybe less than a gram and less than 4 g carbs but all of that protein. I highly recommend to give it a try if you are struggling with your Protein drinks. I have been fortunate not to have any post op issues whatsoever and I hope that my journey continues to stay as simple as this has been. I wish all the new sleevers best of luck and I'm thinking about each and everyone of you.

    Surgery Countdown Ticker

I don't think I ever read you couldn't have outside tickers, I just don't know how to insert one. :-)
  15. I just need someone home! My husband is here now so just hearing him in the house is making me happy. I do have a lot of support from family and friends. Attached is a photo of my beautiful flowers. Hell I even got balloons and cards too. :-)
  16. I'm four days post op and everything has been by the book with no issues. I feel SO fortunate! But this afternoon I feel a little loneliness and maybe a tad bit of depression sneaking up on me. I don't regret for one second what I have decided to do, but my daughter has been in school all week and my husband has been working all week. We live in SW Florida so it's season time here and everyone is super busy. I have been very lonely today. I feel like I could cry but for no good reason. I have tried to keep myself busy all day but that is hard to do when you are used to working 2 jobs and 50+ hours a week. I am going back to work on Monday and I seriously can't wait to get there. Blech. Sorry for the Debbie downer post, highly unlike me!
