it was recommended to me by another poster to wear after surgery. helps you move around in bed, sit up, etc.

I know you indicated your culture as one of the main reasons you can't move out. Is there someone in your culture or religion you can talk to? Maybe become a helper to a nice person in your culture in return for a place to stay? nanny. helper to elderly woman? etc. Are there different versions of your culture? Example, some Christian churches are more laid back and allow all sexual orientations and others don't. I"m not religious so I'm not sure how these things work. This is such an unhealthy relationship and can be a never ending cycle. If you were to leave what would be the worse thing that could happen? Would your father support your decision? Would you still have friends? Could you make new friends? It can be very scary to leave what you have always known but sometimes you gotta make the leap. You are young. You have your life ahead of you.

So I haven't been on the scale in 2 weeks. I started drinking water...alot of Water. cutting out diet cokes. haven't worried about my diet but definately not over eating. no entire bags of chips. no half pizzas. just not best choices. didn't want to look at any of it as my "last meal". Not going to fast food nearly as much because my usual stop is for a soda (which I'm avoiding) and then I grab a bite to eat. Did I say alot of water? 1 1/2 times minimum on average day. Now...I get on the scale and I gained 5 lbs! WTF -- no matter which way i look at it in the last 2 weeks I'm eating and drinking better. I am not starving or shocking my body into starvation mode. nothing drastic..but to put on 5 lbs. this has me worried that despite the sleeve my body will revolt and do whatever it wants.

Just made me realize it's coming up on the allergy season that sets me off -- late August into September. I need to get on meds as soon as possible because I sneeze constantly for 6 weeks and I will only be 3 weeks post-op.

Im Not Ashamed But Need Help Coping With Questions I Dont Want To Answer...
Shape_Shifter replied to LorenaVaca's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I work for satan himself so I know how supervisors are. I've changed my drinking & eating habits alittle. Made comments about starting another "diet". Started taking stairs, etc. Whatelse you decide to do is none of their business. I'm even using vacation instead of sick leave so I don't have to show papers. Like I've said before, if they don't need to know its my TOM they dont' need to know anything else either. Just being nosey. I may answer honestly to another person who might benefit from the same procedure and if I can trust them. Maybe. -

What A Different Vacation This Will Be
Shape_Shifter replied to bikerchick519's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Awsome. Went to Key West spring of 2010. Of course we hit it when there was a cold snap. Froze our butts off. So unprepared for cold weather was 85 the week before and week after. -

For whatever reason I couldn't see your pictures. I've never been to Sturgis or out west. Been to Daytona twice. I have been thinking about going next year for our 25th anniversary and know how good I would feel being lighter! Maybe I'll catch you next year! -
A Little Worried...
Shape_Shifter replied to Shape_Shifter's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really don't have a last meal thing. I just typically don't eat alot when I'm hot. I'm so full on Water I barely eat dinner, instead of clearning my plate. Haven't been having typical watch-tv-boredom snack. Still don't eat Breakfast (i know that will ahve to change) and lunch is hit or miss. Even husband has commented on how little i'm eating. -
Someone stood close to you. someone was concerned about you. I'm sure he was not alone. You WERE LOVED. YOU ARE LOVED. YOU WILL CONTINUE TO BE LOVED.

I Know I'm Not Supposed To Compare...
Shape_Shifter replied to fell4falls's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Put on an old pair of pants that were tight to remind yourself how far YOU have come. Look at some of the NSV that you have had. I am a low-bmi having surgery soon and I'm worried about the same thing. I have a friend who had surgery and lost alot of weight quickly and she will be the person to comment on how slow I am loosing. You are loseing. You've lost alot. You've come a long way. Keep it up. Compare yourself to where you would have been if you did't have the surgery. And...Be sure to remind me of all of this when I'm having the same problem. good luck. -

Surgery Is Tomorrow Morning! :) :) :) :)
Shape_Shifter replied to soontobeskinnymini's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
several people said a small pillow. Something about holding it against your abdomen when moving around, getting up etc helps keep it from being painful. I haven't got mine yet. heating pad ans gas-x -
How Do You Deal With.....
Shape_Shifter replied to scaredoftheunknown's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Maybe I'm speaking out-of-turn since I havent been sleeved yet and I too am only looking to loose 65 lbs. Jealousy? Maybe they wish they had done it earlier? Also, maybe your friend is one of those who always wishes they looked like you only being 60 lbs overweight, now she's getting noticed more, and you're going to come along and be thinner than her, possibly sooner. Stealing her Thunder so-to-speak. Maybe just reassure them both that you admire them, etc. and how brave they were to take the 1st step and you are following them? Just my opinion -

OTR - you said it before I could. Us older women definately want a man with stamina...but also a pup you can smack on the nose and tell them go to lay down when we're done. lol Older men get grey and distinguished. Older women - look like a witch. Our only saving grace -- eventually those younger women get stuck with grandpa and grandpa gets a middle-aged women with a wandering eye looking for that younger man and using grandpa's $$ to get it. Karma is a b***h! lmao -

Nah, been with him for 26 years. He's always been great -- i've just always been more reserved. He's never been in a rush .lol -
Okay, maybe I'm overthinking this but it woke me up at 3am lol Having surgery in 9 days and this is the type of thing that keeps me up. We are suppose to eat 5 small meals a day. However, we are not suppose to drink at least 1/2 before and 1/2 hour after each meal. AND still need to get a minimum amount of Water in without gulping -- sip sip sip Seems like all i will be doing is counting down how much water, how many minutes, how much Protein, how much more time until cycle repeats, sip, sip, sip repeat. repeat repeat. now squeeze in exercise too....oh and don't stop living...and start living again. Yeah, I know. probably overthinking but I so want this to work for me.

I'm the opposite. I didn't have one until i was heavier. Hoping it's just because I was older (you know what they say about the sex improving with age for women). I really, really hope that doesn't go away. -
Surgery 8/1, Dreading Pre-Op Diet And New App
Shape_Shifter replied to MsDallasSleever's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Made2beme - why did you start early? I was thinking about it just to get over the hump earlier and feel like i was doing something instead of just waiting. first 4 days is suppose to be green fruits/veggies & one shake and then 3 days of liquids. I dont' care for fruits/veggies so I'll probably do 7 days of liquid.
