If you've just had surgery' date=' I think the half and half is fine because you have to stay hydrated.[/quote']
I agree hydration is key at this stage. And I absolutely hate artificial sweeteners. Good luck

Honestly.. I don't know because I am not looking at the needle..I certainly can ask the next time I go if you wish..I know it has to be big enough to hit the muscle in my arm
No need you answered my question. It must be IM at a 90 degree angle. Thanks Piplula

I get mine in my arm
What gauge is the needle?

Great that someone else has heard of it! I tried my first dose this past Friday. So far' date=' so good.[/quote']
Do you have lots of energy?
-
Yes this happens. I would try to take baby sips. I know it's difficult.

I got a prescription @ inject myself. <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />I have my 6 week post op appt next Monday. I'll ask him then. Do you inject them at a 90 degree angle in your Lower abdomen similar to lovenox?

I hear ya... I'm getting frustrated too. I was sleeved on 7/30/12 and am only down 29 lbs. ugghhh. I agree though I think my body is in starvation mode. I can only get like 600 cal in per day.

Hang in there Amanda. For me it got better as soon as I started eating soft foods.I'm not condoning this' date=' but when I was on full liquids I licked the flavoring off of 5 wheat thins. My God it was good, and I was satisfied. My dog ate the freshly licked wheat thins and she was happy too.[/quote']
Hi Amanda,
I definitely don't recommend feeding wheat thins to a dog.

Oh yikes. That's good to know' date=' before I have one glass of red wine and think "I'm okay to drive" (I actually don't drive after ANY alcohol, but still, good to know).
As to your other post, that's me to a Tee: "no off switch." I don't obsess over food, in fact I can go long periods without any food whatsoever. It's just that when I DO eat, I can (and do) easily eat until I feel ill. There's never a "that's enough" stage! So hopefully lap sleeve is the perfect surgery for me, too (I'll know in about a month)!
Edit: just did a little research, and it looks like the science proves you correct. I always thought that alcohol was absorbed by the stomach, but it appears that it's actually the small intestine where most is absorbed. Since lap sleeve doesn't affect that, and in fact increases the transfer rate from the stomach to the small intestine, alcohol could conceivably be MUCH quicker in effect.
According to other posts, I thought you already had the sleeve done?

My husband had this surgery in Mexico by Dr. Daniel Huacuz' date=' and he died from it. Do not make the same mistake as he did.[/quote']I am so sorry for your loss. I searched for info on this md, and was horrified with many of the patient testimonials.

Wow... Your a total Hottie!

I am pre-op' date=' but LOVE Grey Goose mixed with SoBe 0 calorie lifewaters. There are a ton of different flavors. My favorites are yumberry pomegranate & black and blueberry. They have Vitamins and your hydrating at the same time as getting a buzz on, lol! It's a win, win! <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />[/quote']Yum I'm going to have to give that a try :-)

I am so tired of the extreme critical opinions I have been seeing regarding eating carbs etc. I think that a cheat here and there is healthy. I myself I have tried diet after diet, depriving myself of certain things only to lose 50lbs and gain 80 back. I think deprivation got me to the weight I was pre-op. the great thing about the sleeve is, the Portion Control it forces. I will not feel guilty for eating a piece of toast, a bite of Mac and cheese, or a sugary sucker, nor will I allow others to make me feel guilty.

You look great. That is a great loss in 4 months :-)

I had to inject 1x daily for 10 days, as a blood clot prevention as well.

You can also add sugar free soda the blender takes out the carbonation. I used to love adding 6oz of sugar free orange crush, ice cubes, vanilla Protein Powder and mandarins oranges to make an orange creamsical Protein Shake. It was my favorite pre-op drink recommended by my surgeons office.

I noticed I get tipsy after 1/2 a glass of wine now' date=' however it wears off just as fast. I am almost 6 weeks post op and had my first drink at 4 weeks out. No judgement please! I don't think 1 drink will hurt.[/quote']If I were you I would treat yourself to a pins colada or something fun. My moto is everything is ok in moderation. :-)

It is typical for my surgeons office. I was not at any risk.
