    Leak?

what are your symptoms? It can be a lof of different things...
  2. Are you taking all your vitamins on regular intervals? I would think muscle and joint pain could be a sign of a nutrient deficiency. Just a thought...

    Boobs during surgery

You don't really want to know the things they do to your body while in surgery. They actually probably tape them up to ensure they are out of the way. I hate to say it, but true....

    9 months out pics

You look great! Awesome work and keep it up! So proud for you...

    Size

Yes, Goodwill or local consignment shop. Don't spend a fortune of clothes you are going to get too small for within a few months. Happy for you to be losing it into smaller sizes! Keep up the great work!

    How to eat in public

Just take a small portion of most items - put a good variety on your plate so it is not obvious, eat slowly and talk often to distract from your meal. If questioned by someone, just tell them you watching what you eat. New Year's Resolution to lose weight! You will be fine - most people don't really notice it anyway. Good Luck!
  7. DO NOT PASS GO - DO NOT COLLECT $200 - GO STRAIGHT TO THE ER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. You look GREAT! Keep up the great work.
  9. I am 15 weeks out too (sleeve surgery Oct 3rd) and I am down 44 pounds. I would say you are right on target. At least I think I am on target. 40 pounds in 15 weeks is approximately 2.66 pounds per week. That is normal, healthy weight loss. I have always been a slow loser too, but I don't worry about the amount of weight loss everyweek, just that I am losing and not gaining. I have never been a binge eater; however, I used to take in the largest majority of my calories in the evening and I (like you) find myself eating all day now (stoking the metabolism fire). Good Luck to you! Keep us all posted on your progress.

    sleeve and pregnancy

There is a whole section of this site dedicated to pregnancy after the sleeve. Check out the main page of the forums. I am sure you can find some support in that area. Good luck!

Why do we candy coat everything?

Well said, OTR! I agree more people need to take responsibility for their actions in life. And yes, I was a food addict too! I used to use the cute little name Foodie too, but you are right...it isn't cute. It is just a cute way of saying "kill yourself a little quicker eating junk you don't need!" Thanks for posting what most of feel and know and all should be able to own up to.

    Hair Loss

I take two prescription strength prenatal vitamins (one morning, one night) daily and it doesn't seem to be helping. Ugh!!!

    Newbie

Very normal to have loose stool, especially if you are only ingesting protein shakes and/or only liquids. It will get better down the road. Hang in there! I assure you it is the BEST thing you will EVER do for yourself! I am 3 months out and down 40 pounds. I would have NEVER lost 40 pounds without the support the sleeve gives me. It is an excellent tool to assist you in the weight loss journey. Good Luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!

    My Verticle Sleeve story

Congrats! It will be amazing and awesome for you and your hubby. My husband and I are going on this journey together too! I was sleeved on 10/3/12 and hubby was sleeved 12/19/12. We are both doing great! And we are SO happy we made this choice. You will too! Just remember, DO NOT compare yourself to your hubby. I am 3 months out and down 40 pounds. Hubby is 15 days out and down 30 pounds! Never a fair assessment between men and women but just remember...slow and steady wins the race! Good Luck and keep us posted on your progress. SO happy for you guys!!!

    Hair Loss

Yes, I take my vitamins religiously and I knew about the hair loss prior to surgery but thought I should wait and see if it happens to me. Well, wouldn't you know it...it did! I will try some Biotin - what doseage are you taking and how often?
  17. Awesome work! Keep up the great motivation. And I agree...we all are looking forward to ONEDERLAND!
  18. I am such a slow loser - I am 3 months out too (October 3rd) and only down 40 pounds. Now, I have worked DAMN hard for every one of those 40 pounds but sure wish it was more! I continue to truck along doing what I am supposed to be doing and watch the weight slowly but surely fall off. I love my sleeve! I know I could have never lost this much weight without it.

Congrats! There's no place like home. What day was surgery?

    Christmas gift!

Wow! 68 pounds in 3 months - that is REALLY impressive! I am 3 months out on 1/3/13 and only down 38 pounds so far. I guess some of us are really slow losers. Keep up the great work!
  24. I was sleeved on Oct 3 - down 36 pounds thus far and feeling great about it! My husband got sleeved on 12/19/12. He is doing great, healing nicely and we are on this journey together. Now, here is where the problem lies... Growing up with two brothers I have always been so competitiive. food was always a competition for me. If my brother had 2 hamburgers, I had to eat another hamburger (not b/c I wanted it but I always felt like I couldn't be outdone!) Hence my weight gain in adult life. Part of my success in losing weight thus far with the sleeve was that I was limited in what I could eat (liquids, purees, mushies, etc.) to prevent medical issues. Now that I am able to eat anything I am concerned that I will sabotage my own efforts b/c hubby is losing weight more quickly than I. I don't want to feel like a failure, but let's be quite frank...men can lose weight without even trying...us ladies have a hell of a time getting 1 pound off. Any suggestions on how I can stay motivated and losing when hubby is lapping me with his weight loss? I am happy for he and I to be on this journey together and he is VERY supportive of all my efforts and success thus far. I am more concerned about myself (my own worst enemy...) Any thoughts....
  25. Wow! Hours after surgery being sent home is scary to me. I was in for 2.5 days before being sent home. I agree - you need to REALLY focus on fluids and pumping your ankles to ensure good blood flow. Good Luck!
