  1. I had the exact same pain about the same time post surgery. I contacted my PA and she suggested that I use a heating pad or put a heating patch (pick up at Walgreens or Walmart) on the area that hurts and then wear my belly binder over the patch, the Patches last about eight hours. IMO this worked like a champ! Did this for about a day and a half. My best to you, I hope you feel better soon!

  2. I will have my surgery with Dr. Nick on August 7th. I saw a hospital dietician yesterday who had nothing but great things to say about Dr. Nick and his process. Still' date=' I am nervous about the surgery. When you feel up to it, would you post about your experience after surgery?[/quote']

I was sleeved by Dr. Nicholson on 6/19, in Dallas. He and his staff at the clinic and at Forest Park are amazing!!! He made me feel very at ease and I was so confident in my decision in him performing my surgery! Every person I came into contact with, nurses, techs, administration and pharmacy, had amazing things to say about him! I just knew I made the right decision, this surgery has been the best thing for me and my family!!! All my best to you on this journey! Keep us posted when you are able!

  3. Does anyone out there that had Dr. Nick know if he offers a waist binder. I asked at his office today and the lady said she thought you can request one.

I was sleeved by Dr. Nicholson and the nurses at the Ncholson Clinic made sure that I asked at the Hospital for one before I left. The binder really helped when I moved or coughed in the first weeks of recovery!!! My best to you!

  4. I posted this in another room and thought I would share...

Well guys....countdown begins. My surgery is on Tuesday. I am not sure what time yet. Dr's office said they would call me on Monday before noon to let me know what time to be at the hospital. I have everything I THINK I will need. WOW. I cannot believe it's almost here and that I have successfully completed TWELVE days of the liquid diet. GO ME!!!! Honestly' date=' it hasnt been as bad as I thought it would be. Guess that's a good thing and hopefully I won't 'miss' food as much post surgery either. Weird though...I am not nervous one bit. I am so ready. This is a whole new chapter in my life and I am going for it. I will have my mother by my side through the whole thing. Husband will be home with the kids (1 and 3) and he really hasn't been supportive anyway during this process. But...I am ok with that. This is about my kids...and ME! ME! ME! For ONCE in my life...ME!

    I will keep you posted![/quote']

All my best to you, you sound super prepared and excited! Way to go, can't wait to hear your progress! Thank you for sharing your journey with your fellow sleevers!!! I was sleeved almost six weeks ago in Dallas! Best thing I have ever done for myself and for my family! Take care!

  5. Thanks Amy! Dr. Nicholson is another surgeon I am considering. Would you happen to know how many patients he performs surgery on per day? 13 patients seems excessive to me.

Dr. Nicholson is amazing, as is Brittany his PA!!! I can't say enough wonderful things about him, he is very personable and I felt so confident in my decision to be sleeved by him! Forest Park is a wonderful facility, truly top notch!
