I can relate!!! And congrats on your near-goal-achievement!

    Gym or Zumbe ?

I just returned from a Zumba class at the gym...nothing like it! Live classes really are best..you can really feed off the energy. It is amazing how hard a workout you get! I combine it with strength training for total fitness. I, too, am addicted to Zumba!

For those 6 months out question

I am six months out, and a disaster as far as diet goes. I rarely get enough Protein, and I am working hard on my Water intake. As for the carbs, I try to keep them under 40grams per day. How many calories do I get? Some days, under 500, some days, more. If I were more attentive, I would have lost more than 71lbs so far. I have re-dedicated myself to working the sleeve. Good luck!
  4. I drink Crystal Light Lemon/Iced Tea...LOTS of it. I also drink iced water, but like many of you have already said, its tough to drink in the cold weather. I have been slacking big-time on the liquid intake. That is my resolution:drink LOTS more!

    A favorite Dress...

From the album: Before and 'During' Body Transformation

Photos taken 3 months apart. I'm much happier with the fit!
  6. I am 5'4", and shooting for 140lbs. Pre-surgery: 284; surgery weight (7/3/12) 273...current weight: 215. When I had my consultation with the doctor, and set an initial goal of 130-135lbs, I laughed out loud! We sort of settled on 140. At 215, I am wearing a size 16 (wore a size 14 skirt today!)...I have no idea what size I might wear down the road. Like some of you, I have been fat for a long time, and even have no concept of sizes below a 14. If I had to name a 'dream size', I would say an 8. Why? It's a single digit, and I don't remember ever wearing a single digit size. Someone mentioned loving losing inches...I concur!

    BOOBS

Sigh...I am going to need some MAJOR work at the end of this journey. My breasts are history. At my heaviest, I was a 46DDD. 70 pounds lighter, I am approximately a 40DD. They are ok in a bra...barely ok. I am amazed at the transformation.

    YIKES!

From the album: Before and 'During' Body Transformation

My daughter said I had to look 'bad' in the before pics to make a real difference. I (foolishly) listened. These photos are 6 months apart. The arms are troubling, but I'm still pleased with the loss.

From the album: Before and 'During' Body Transformation

The photo on the left was taken in October...4 months after surgery. Unsure of my weight at that time. The photo on the left was taken yesterday. To date, I have lost 1-73lbs(depending on the scale!)

    scared to be thin

...you just have to be "THINNER"...HEALTHIER. I have to say, I have no body issues when it comes to losing weight, I am ready for the final product! I love clothes, and looking put-together...and thinner. Don't agonize, just enjoy the ride.

    Hair Loss

My hairline is starting to resemble that of a a 55 year old man. Sigh... But the up side is that they make really nice looking wigs these days!

How do you not go broke?

I gave away THOUSANDS of $$$ in clothing. I started going to Old Navy and other discounted stores for 'interim' clothing. I hate ill-fitting clothes, so I go out and replace as necessary...on sale! Also, try Macy's, they have fabulous sales.

    Losing breast weight

I know what you mean about additional surgery, I will be 53 in Feb. At least I will be able to buy pretty padded bras from VICTORIA SECRETS!

    Woo hoo!

I have 14lbs to reach 'Onderland'. There's a chance I won't be around to enjoy it, as I am sure I will pass out when that needle reads 199 or less!!!
  17. Surgery was a breeze...never even filled my pain prescription. What made me want to jump off a bridge was about the first time I tried to eat some soft, scrambled eggs. MISTAKE> I was doubled over in pain for about an hour. I was so damn miserable. I never want to experience that kind of pain again.

    Clothes dont fit!

My daughter had surgery a month before I did, and she has lost 100lbs, and hasn't had an appreciable change in clothing size. I have lost 71lbs, and gone from a 22/24 to a 16. She has lost more weight, and I have lost more inches. Bodies are all so different.
  19. *Having NO slacks left to wear to work (all too big!) *Crossing my legs. Comfortably..without going numb *Fitting into an XL sports tank (formerly wore a 22/24 top) *I made so many new holes in my belts, I had to get rid of them altogether! There are more NSVs, and I cherish each one.

    almost four months!

STOP THINKING, AND JUST DO IT! Sorry, not my place to say that, but if you are overweight/obese, be goos to yourself, and get the surgery. It is life-changing. You owe it to yourself to get healthy. (stepping down off my soapbox...)

    Losing breast weight

70lbs ago, I was a 44DDD. I am currently a 40DDD and even bought a 38DD/D. UNREAL. My breasts now look like two deflated balloons...the oblong kind you use to make balloon animals. At one time, I actually thought about getting a breast REDUCTION. Now, I know I will need a boob job. Oh, the irony of it all...
