Aw Ginny, It will happen, you just can't shut off your mind, or anyone else's for that matter, I did a lot of catch up reading as well, nothing to do with weight loss either! I had my post-op today and will blog about it later. I'm so happy for you and EVERYONE who has made this step, also happy that I could ease your mind because trust me I worry enough about everything for everybody! Kiss Kiss

This post made me cry. It's so hopeful and true. I read it and feel such joy to be able to look forward to these same moments..and knowing that all of these same things will zoom through my mind. That's what I was truly worried about was the time I'm taking off of work and all of the "free time" I would have to think about what I "had done" although I know I will still have these thoughts it makes me hopeful to read this and makes me smile. 2 more weeks until I am banded and just want to thank you for such an awesome post!

Hopefully Velvet, they were mistaken. It's definitely too soon. You need time to heal thoroughly before starting fills. I believe my dr. has patients come for the first fill (it's been a while, so can't remember for sure as I had my band in '07) at least 4-5 weeks after surgery.
Good luck on your journey!

Thanks for your story! This is awesome to communicate with others who're going through the same experiences. I'm not scheduled until August28th and I can't wait!!! I scheduled my flights today, from Western Ky. to Mexico, just the trip has me excited. I've never been to Mexico, or on a large jet. I'm going by myself, my hubby can't get off work to go, there's no-one else I would want to take with me.. I look forward to the time alone really...I'm a nurse, mother, wife, Never get to be alone. Anyways, I hope you're still doing well, sounds like you're doing well on energy, you diet etc.. I hope I have similar experience. I think I will, I'm not afraid, or even skeptical about the procedure and am familiar with what to expect. I also realize the band is a tool, not a cure-all for wt. loss. I plan to exercise, eat 3 good meals a day, and be patient most of all. Keep us posted please, we enjoy reading others' day to day experiences/feelings/and especially the successes...

You say you posted this but can't see it. I found it no problem. You might have to refresh or even close your browser and reopen. Great read! Good lick.

Hello... I was banded 5/25. I too had a hiatal hernia and it took at least 7 or 8 days before I had an appetite. Today was my second dr. visit and I didn't need a fill. So far things are going great. Eating without any trouble at all. I haven't tried any tough meats like ribs or steak, just ground beef, turkey, chicken and fish. I hope all continues to go well with you... Stay Strong!!

I'm right there off you about the weight loss/re-gain pissed-off-ness In the beginning of 2011 I lost 55 lbs (by May), and from Sept until December I gained back 40. I also learned that I was an emotional eater!
Good luck with your surgery tomorrow. I was banded about 5 weeks ago and so far am SO happy with my decision. I just wake up every day and tell myself that I can be successful and work with this. The first few months are all will-power and discipline. Every night that I lay down to go to sleep and know that I followed the plan for the day feels like an accomplishment.
