  1. I love myself again, that's as plain and simple as I can say it! August 2nd was my 1 year mark and I am down 138 pounds as of this morning. LIFE IS GOOD! I'd like to lose another 40-50 pounds to really get the results I want. The sleeve was the tool I needed so desparately and it has worked just as I hoped it would. I got my life back. I got me back. I am happy again. I am full of life again. There are SOOO many positive things to list. I couldn't even fathom that I would be this happy a year ago. Yea, I thought I'd lose weight, but in the back of all our minds we are still self-doubting, self-sabotaging, etc., etc., etc. but I really didn't think I would end up here. I am training for a half marathon (walking), I do paddle boarding, I am DATING (miracle!), I am active with my kids, my friends (I actually WANT to go out!) my family. I just have fun in life again. The Sleeve was my life saver and I would do it a million times over in a heart beat. To anyone struggling, just know that each day gets better. I do feel very lucky in that I have not had any side effects, I eat what I want and never feel deprived - YES I eat better than I ever have, but it's because of this tool. I hope everyone has had the success that I have had. Lots of love and support to all my sisters out there (and brothers!)!!!! The Sleeve ROCKS!!!! (see my before below!)

Need positivity from post op peeps!

Here's one of your Positive Peeps!!!! I'm 9 months out and I am still on cloud 9! It is so life changing, I can't put it into word, except hands down THE best thing I EVER did for myself. Are the first few weeks/months a HUGE adjustment, YES. Is it shocking that you can barely sip water, YES! Is it all worth it, YES! Keep positive thoughts, envision yourself coming through healthy, strong & skinny . I have not had 1 complication or set back (besides needing to stay an extra night in the hospital because of the horrible nausea from pain meds). I've had stalls and gaining back a pound or 2 only to lose 5 the next time I get on the scale. I'm now training for my first half marathon (walking - not running! and I'm having the life I always knew (and used to live) was there. I'm back to being social again with friends (at 350lbs I didn't want to go anywhere), dating (yikes!) and just appreciating and enjoying life and being part of life again. Like I said, best thing ever and I have nothing but positive, wonderful things to say about the sleeve. You'll get to where I am and think "what was I ever so worried about"! Tell you the truth I can't really remember the difficult part in the beginning, it's realitvely such a short amount of time compared to the rest of your life!!!! Good luck and congrats!

    Bye-bye Lane Bryant!

I agree! and I think that was just as shocking was to see that a top or sweater was $30, not $60!!! LB is expensive, but they know they have the market on the most decent, stylish plus sizes!!! You;ll be there soon!

    Bye-bye Lane Bryant!

    That is awesome!!!
  7. It's official!....I no longer need to shop at Lane Bryant! I was in Nordstrom Rack today with a friend and where do I head as soon as I walk in the door - PLUS SIZES! And then I picked out about 10 tops in a 1x...my friend kept telling me - you are NOT a plus size anymore! But in my mind I still am (was) and I took the clothes to the dressing room. YEP - they were all too big! And shockingly not just by a little! I was shocked and very surprised! Do you mean to tell me that I can go back to looking and shopping in "regular" stores! Talk about a great day and incredible NSV!!!!! Wwwoooooooo-hooooooooo!

    100lbs GONE!

I weighed this morning and I have officially lost 100lbs!!! Unbelievable! I still have 85lbs to go for goal and 50 to make it to Onderland! I do feel like the next 50-85 is just gravy! I'm so happy and can't even explain how much my life, my attitude, everything has changed. I LOVE myself again! I wasn't sure I'd ever get back to being happy with myself, because I was so disappointed in how far gone I had gotten. This is 100% the best thing I ever did for myself, my kids, my friends, my family, my job, MY LIFE!!!! Great start to the beginning of the best year ever! Here I come 2013 and beyond! I've posted some befores and 2 pics taken today (after my walk at the beach trail)....I'm Loving Life!

    Sleeve Vs Bypass

I'm only 3 months out, down 74 lbs., besides the weight loss and restriction in eating, I'd swear I never had the surgery! That's how little "side effects" I've had. I'm not sure there would be any reason you would need the extra stomach back?...all that extra did was hold more food so we could stuff ourselves! . My decision for the sleeve was because it did not "re-route" the digestion process which I believe is why we sleevers typically recover well and quickly. But of course there can be risk an complications with any surgery. Best of luck!
  14. So for the last week I've been in the process of moving....packing the old place, cleaning, movers, unpacking at new place. Anyway, my family helped me pack and my sister packed my scale over a week ago. at first I was irritated because I weighed at least every other day....and then without it, I started to like it. I felt like I've been losing again (had a stall for over a week) and feeling like with all the packing, lifting, etc., I felt like I was getting in extra exercise. So yesterday I caught myself in a full length mirror and I stopped and did a double take...is that me?!? No, wait a minute where am I? ...am I really seeing what I'm seeing? No, this must be one of those stretch mirrors. Yep, that's me. Wow my legs are looking a lot smaller. Wow I'm starting to look kinda good. Seriously, these are all the thoughts that went thru my was in a matter of seconds. I love the NSV's!!!! Unpacked the scale this morning and down 5lbs...love the scale victories too

So Calif Sleevers Where Are You?

I'm south OC, but I had to have my surgery at Tri City in Hawaiin Gardens. Dr. Braverman with the New Program in Newport. Good experience.
