That is awesome! The coolest part is seeing your time go down as you keep it up! Best of luck finding a run! I am not a big fan of this cold weather, but I live in Texas so it will be in the 70s again before I know it (It was LAST week).

Www.dailymile.com is a great motivator for me. I log all my runs and workouts.

I am taking my 1st class Saturday and I am very excited about this! It will be my -50lb present to myself! My hope is to do 2 days a week which is in addition to my current workouts.

September I ran my first 5k and started this post. Last Sunday I ran a 10k (6.2 miles) just to see if I could. My goal had been 5 straight miles before the end of December but I just kept going! Now my husband and I have added an offical 10k to our race schedule. If I can do it you can do it!

I already know what you mean! I had another one last week which was a blast! It was a color run I attached a picture of my husband and I AFTER the race! Now I am already planning my next 3 races!

Gall Bladder Issues Post Op
trisket replied to texas-bandette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Last night I woke up at 3:30 with problems breathing and a horrible pain in my chest and back. I woke my husband up and he called my LB Doc. While he was on the phone with him I was walking back from the bathroom (I thought I was going to be sick) and I ended up passing out face first into the carpet. I went to the ER were they took a chest xray and did a ct scan. They ruled out a blood clot and didn't give me any anwsers before sending me home. On the way home my lb doc called back and told me he wants me to get my gallbladder checked. I will be going in on Friday morning for that test. It was scary. I passed out because my pulse and blood pressure were very low. They gave me morphine and oxygen so after a few hours I was feeling better. I haven't had any more problems all day but I am scared to go back to sleep. That as the wost pain I have ever felt and I don't want it to happen again. -
I am on Week 4 day 2. I find it harder to run on the tm because it requires me to keep my speed steady. I tend to go faster than I do when I am on the track but I like it because it makes my walking much quicker and I can do a 15 minute mile instead of a 18 minute mile. On a side note have you heard of www.dailymile.com I LOVE logging my workouts there! I get so much motivation! If you want more info message me! (It's free)

Does anyone use www.dailymile.com to log their workouts? I have been using this site off and on for 2 years now and I love it. I don't like logging workouts on myfitnesspal because I don't want any extra calories listed.

I didn't post it on FB (I'm sure one day it may end up on there) and I didn't tell a lot of people about it at first. I was afraid of failure. Now that I am a few weeks out and people are starting to notice a difference I love to talk about it. I have more of a "ya I did this and watch me succeed" attidude.

What Was The Final Straw To Help You Make Your Decision?
trisket replied to ashiashley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not being able to have a baby after three years and 8 failed treatments. I was either going to do IVF or Lapband this summer and I decided I owed it to myself and my future family to try and be healthy first. So lapband it was -
There may be some swelling still. I can't remember if I could feel my right off the bat but now I am 3 weeks out and I can feel it if I push down near my largest incision.

Can You Get Stuck Before Your First Fill?
trisket posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am almost 3 weeks post op and my doc doesn't do a first fill until 2 months so I don't have anything in my band yet. However, today I was eating some lunch meat and not paying attention and I ate it quickly. Next thing I know I have this horrible pain in my chest and the urge to cough over the trashcan. After a few times a spitting out gunk I felt better but now I am wondering if that is what stuck feels like. -
Oh I also had to quit last summer because I wasn't waiting a day in betwen my runs and I developed tendnitis (sp?) in my hips. THAT HURT!
-
I did the whole program last summer and LOVED it! (then school started and I got lazy again). I just started it back up this morning to help me get ready for a 5K I am doing in September

Those Recently Banded: Whats Ur First Short Term Goal?
trisket replied to sylviau's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job so far!!! I was banded on 6/27 and as of today have lost 22lbs. My first short term goal is to be under 244 when school starts back up. That was the lowest I have been in a few years and it was right at the end of last summer. I found a good 30 lbs during the school year. THAT won't be happening again this year I am at 253 as of this morning so I am pretty sure I will make it! -
Healing Phase - Feeling In Throat
trisket replied to cmoody821's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How is everyone feeling? My knot went away and my taste seems to be back to normal. I really think mine was caused by my antibiotic I was taking. It was this white liquid stuff that left my tongue white. I was really glad to be done with that. -
I have 6 and one is in my belly button. My big one looks pretty gross! I probably shouldn't have pulled off the steristrips but it itched sooooo bad!!

Proud Of Myself- 1 Year Later!
trisket replied to Tuckersmommy10's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congrats! This is wonderful! I hope I can write something like this for my one year! I really hope this lapband helps get me a baby! -
Just depends on your doctor. Mine gave me a nice liquid pain reliever. It helped me sleep for the first two days. It took me a few days to fill normal again. I think I stopped taking the pain medicine on day 4 or 5.
