  1. Welcome Sassy! I had my surgery April 24th, I have had the same issues with nausea...it sure makes it difficult to even just get in the liquid Protein Shakes as well. To introduce chewing I have tried a bit of Peanut Butter, scarmbled eggs and cottage cheese (not all at once lol) all stay down okay as long as it is only a few really small bites...good luck finding something! I am sure someone on here will share more of what works for them very helpful team. xo

  2. After I graduated bootcamp I was 5'9'' 132lbs, me and my fellow recruits could run forever it seemed and when we were sent to Tech school we would walk more than 5 miles on the weekends when we were on base leave. I never thought I would ever be 100 lbs heavier but it happened. In April 2012 I finally decided to turnaround all the bad habits I had with food and with much worry & woe had my surgery on April 24th. How about you? Nancy

  3. HI Elle! I so feel for you...this new stomach is definitely not happy with any of my munching or any snacking even if healthy like the berries... it barely agrees with my 2 oz fish or Protein of any sorts! Mine will be so painful I have to eliminate the offending extra food! Hope a tums will help you keep it down! ;) PS You already look so pretty! Keep the faith!

  4. So great on your weight loss and you look lovely already! I love to have some of the things you bought but my nutritionist made us go to a 5 hour class with an inch thick book of food guidelines we are allowed and those we canNOT have...I see her every Dr visit and she scares me! lol No I really apprecaite her.

But its great to see I might someday have a little bit of some of the old foods I love and

still lose weight like you! x

  5. Whoohoo for you! :D For my birthday I received a Dillards gift card...today I looked thru the clothes and decided since I have lost 9 lbs since Monday and am now able to wear a size 16(slightly too big) and a size 14 (definitely to tight) that I would not buy clothes and bought a gorgeous sale price Calvin Klein heels! Now pray my feet don't shrink! lol LOVE the sleeve!!!

  6. I bought a really nice pair of size 16 jeans in Dillards the month before I had my surgery as I thought when I get into them I will truly believe I have made a real change in my life post Gastric sleeve. I tried them on 2 weeks ago... still to tight to button up...this morning I saw them hanging in my closet and thought I would give them another try...I was thrilled and frustrated that they not only buttoned but were now too big! I really had thought these jeans would be a pair I would wear at least a few weeks or months. I honestly cannot believe they are too big, especailly in the legs and butt! Not complaining just shocked at how much our bodies can change in such a short time! Im sure all of us have had some little milestone oddiites too! I believe the VS surgery is amazing!

  7. Thrilled you are okay mary...I was worried about you! I am back in hospital again too. Fainted due to low potassium and Iron. CT scan showed an abscess. Back on Clear Liquids so nausea is better...not hungry at all. Hope to go home early next week. Im 6 weeks out...was so hoping to be more advanced with my diet. Just don't want a feeding tube...that was something my surgeon said she might consider if I can't get in solids....that was scary. Got to overcome this! Good luck Mary! X

  9. Lastly, even support groups aren't always about patting us on the head and saying "You're so perfect." There is an element of tough love in all support. If someone posts on here that they're eating a steak and a fully loaded baked potato the day after surgery, bet your sweet bippie that someone is going to call them on it! :) As Tiffykins says "If you want something sugar-coated, go eat a donut." I think most of us try to be polite to one another, but we all have bad days, too. :)

Good luck on your journey!! :)

Thank you for the advice Lissa, what I posted was not due to my feelings being hurt but not knowing what is acceptable since the rants were from folks who have been here awhile.. NO "sugar coating or head patting with Im perfect" wanted or needed....I was in the military as well as combat....Nothing can hurt me after that experience. :)

Thanks to the others for the posts and great advice! :)

  10. Pookie & Dorrie, thank you for your kinds words...it made me tear up...I feel quite alone with this. My family try to help but they only know the information side....living it is SO far different! I found another forum but the posters dont post too often.

So here I am. I have been feeling really dizzy lately & fainted twice so my family Dr. did tests and they just called to say I have too high blood pressure, hypoglicemia and low potassium...when i said what do I do she said eat more calories...I said I can't as I throw up if I eat more than 3 bites...she said call my Surgeon. I have left messages and my surgeon office has yet to call me back.

I worry I have messed up my body with this surgery. I jsut want to be normal whatever the hell that is!

  11. I see online forums as a place where topics & conversations are ongoing...fresh & timely. If I want just impersonal information I will google it. I felt coming here was for support as well as learning medium. Since reading the rants I now talk mysef out of posting things because I dont want anyone to roll there eyes or mock what I post because what's new for me is possibly old rehashed news to a sleever who is a year or more out.

Perhaps there should be 2 forums one for superior/experienced sleevers and one for people like myself called slow/nonexperienced sleevers as Im only 5 weeks out and have lots of questions/ponders for other like sleevers...if they don't mind helping that is.

I'm not talking about why I should not eat 64 oz steak & loaded baked potato 24 hours after surgery...I figured that would be plain silly & painful! :)

  12. I had worries about surgery too...An amazing thing happened the morning of my surgery April 24th...I was in the holding room just before surgery, really very anxious.

When I noticed the tiny room filling up, each person introduced themselves, my nurses, my anesthesiologist, the surg techs, the 2 new surgeons helping my surgeon, a paramedic that was there to observe(since I was a paramedic toowe had a laugh)...all wanted to reassure me that they were going to take great care of me and not to worry...omgoodness I was so overwhelmed by their words and touch! They told me they were about to give me versed to relax me...off I went, next thing I know I'm in recovery with some more wonderful nurses asking me what I needed for pain etc...could not ask for more than I received. Great hosptial and staff...they care! Im sure that is the case with most hopsitals! Try to relax :)

  13. I too can completely understand your feelings... had issues with hemmoraging, eating, vomiting etc...4 weeks out and I am just seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...eating/drinking is getting easier, able to help around the house and best of all I am seeing results in the mirror...I wore size 16 jeans yesterday that had hung in my closet with the tags unworn for 4 years when my dear husband ordered me a pair I used to love...they weren't even tight!!

I cried in the bathroom and it reminded me...above all these wonderful things most important is I am getting healthier and will be here longer for my family..Lord willing.

Hugs to you dearest...you will start seeing little momenteous results here and there! Keep the Faith! x

  14. This is a little odd...but a few weeks after surgery I noticed something on my lower surgical incision looked to have a piece of glue that was not washing off. I kind of blew it off & figured I needed to scrub that area better.

Today after close insepection I see it actually surgical suture string with a knot in the end hanging out of the area I was told was glued. So this is actually a suture from the internal sutures. I pulled on it a tad and it hurt like crazy and bled alot. I hate to go back to the Dr again...but wonder if it might be a source of entry for bacteria. Which I know can quickly be bad. Any one else heard of this? x

  15. Just wanted to send you warm cyber hug and know we are rooting for you!!!! It will get better...I too had 3 weeks of return hosptial visits, vomiting and feeling like death was knocking at the door...somehow last week I turned a corner...in that drinks began to stay down...then yogurt and today I actually had dinner with my family and keeped down 4 bites of chicken and a mushroom! Sounds silly reading that but its a start...keep your faith and never be afraid to tell your Dr...hey I dont feel right! xo
