Thanks Ladies... I'm just extremely concerned about my breasts getting worse than the already are, but when you say, "tube socks", I know I'm doomed.
In a perfect world, I could have breast augmentation, etc. but my world is not perfect. The only hope I'd have for that surgery would be if I have infectious raw spots under the skin flaps that make augmentation medically necessary.
Looks like I'll have fun shopping for well fitting bra's. Only, when I get home from work, that sucker comes off asap! I always say, "Let the Krakons loose!" lol. Then they're all up in my business. Oh well. Life could be worse. :-)

Hi. I stopped using Protein Shakes because my husband works third shift and sleeps till 4:00pm and I didn't want to wake him by making shakes in my Magic Bullet. I used to take Protein Shots (the liquid in tube) but stopped. I didn't have a clue what to do, until I found this Protein Drink on pinterest. And I LOVE it!
I'm a Decaf coffee drinker, hot and/or iced. So, I found that mixing a cup of cold coffee, Creamer, Equal and a scoop of vanilla Protein powder and shake real hard, makes a great, refreshing glass of iced vanilla coffee! BAM! I found something pleasing to drink (3 times a day) Also, since it's freakin HOT outside, my ice melts real quick so I poured decaf into an ice tray to make coffee ice cubes so when it melts, it just adds to the flavor.
Give it a try if you like iced coffee. VANILLA iced coffee!

At about 5 months out, the max my surgical team gave me was 1/2 of food if it were all chewed up.
The danger of eating without knowing is that many times, Bariatric patients get comfortable with eating more than they should and it backs up into the esophagus which is not good. There are studies on this.
It is very very unlikely that you stretched your pouch however how long is it taking you to eat an average plate of food? My guidelines prefer that i eat slowly but not to take longer than 20 minutes and never ever eat longer than 30. Because your pouch can also start emptying at that point thereby allowing more food than you need to be consumed.
Lastly, are you drinking with your meals? The reality if you are is that you could be pushing foods out of your pouch faster and thereby making more room and creating more hunger.
These are just some ideas that could be the culprit.

Here's to never having to dirty a blender or blender cup again. I simply started using premier Protein ready made shakes and I am so happy I did. I actually sold my ninja at my estate sale when I moved.
I hate blending Protein Shakes.......the grit and the smell. YUCK!

The three most important elements after RNY gastric bypass surgery are to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight.
Weight loss is achieved after surgery through volume control. You begin at 2 ounces (1/4 cup) per meal and gradually over the next year and a half increase the volume to 1 cup per meal. With this minuscule amount of food, it is next to impossible to meet your Protein daily requirements by food alone, so therefore you need to rely on supplements such as Protein shakes.
I lost my hunger after surgery and it was not difficult to lose weight when you are not hungry. But the hunger returned about a year later but by that time I had lost a significant amount of weight. @ said I am a year out from my RNY. I was non compliant all that time. I did not gain any weight but I also did not lose. I have NO appetite. This is rather strange and it seems to me that something is wrong unrelated to your surgery. After I gained my appetite back, I had an experience of getting a stomach flu that lasted for a week. During that week, I was not hungry and ate very little and lost weight quickly.
So if you continue to want to lose weight; restrict the volume of your meals, and make sure that you are meeting your daily protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. Also try to get in around 30 minutes of walking exercise per day [or equivalent].

Hi and welcome back. Have you had your annual blood work done? Honestly that is something that needs to happen if not so you can see where your Vitamin needs will be, and I am sure you know this, it is dangerous following RNY to not have a nutritional panel done.
Given you are not hungry the best thing you can do follow a schedule of eating ensuring that you have a minimum of 1 gram of Protein for every 1 inch you are tall. A minimum of 64 ounces of Water or non sweetened liquid every day. Then it's time to cut out all of the bad foods if you are still eating those.
Get on a regimen of eating healthy Protein, good carbs like fruits and vegetables. Once you do that your appetite will likely come back.
It's weird but I don't crave the bad stuff, other than chocolate every once in a while. But I really do crave good protein, fruits and vegetables and I get hungry for those things.
If all that was left for me to eat on this planet, I would not be hungry either. Fast food, prepackaged prepared foods and most junk food really is abhorrent to me.
That is where I would start. Just out of curiosity what made you want to jump back on the band wagon?
I hope that you still have some time in the honeymoon period to get things moving for you. If there is, then you should have some quick success if you follow the plan.
    1. 64 oz. Water or non sweetened fluids every day
    2. 1 gram of protein for every inch you are tall MINIUMUM per day
    3. No drinking 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after a meal
    4. Eat slowly but finish your meal within 30 minutes
    5. Leverage a high protein, lower carb (fruits and vegetables) diet daily
    6. Get rid of all junk, prepackaged foods from your house and stay away from sweets, potatoes, rice, Pasta, bread.< /p>
    7. Once you start nearing maintenance you can introduce whole grains back into your diet
Lastly and I mean this with all due respect, seek out a therapist that can help you understand why you have not gotten on board with program after two surgeries to help you. I am not convinced you can do this without understanding your need to self sabotage. I am not trying to be mean here, I am simply calling out what you already did.
I hope that helps you get started and feel free to reach out directly if you like. I would be happy to help.

After much experimenting on Protein shakes, which I don't like making...I looked for drinks instead of shakes.< /p>
I now drink this three times a day and I'm happy with it...
Cold coffee, Creamer or milk of your choice, some sweetener and vanilla Protein. shake real hard, and voila, an iced vanilla coffee (decaf). You don't have to make a huge cup, just enough to make a nice cup of cold (coffee)!!! Yum!

James, your response was super informative and helpful, thank you! Especially while on vacation I've been continuing to drink my premiere Protein drink (30g of protein), because I noticed before I left that I had hit a stall and I think it was due to not enough Protein and Water consumption. So I feel good knowing that if I drink one a day then I'm hopefully getting close to my 60g.

It took me quite a while to eat salads. What I did, and frankly still do most of the time, is get a salad with chicken on it and I eat the chicken first and then some of the random veggies on the salad but I still don't eat a lot of lettuce. It doesn't appeal to me much anymore. At least when I'm out. At home, I do have lettuce sometimes but it is definitely less lettuce than I ever used to have. Like I said, I eat the chicken, some tomatoes, green peppers, red onions and I'm very happy.

While this is all happening much sooner than you may have been prepared for, this is completely normal! No one has the same kind of stringent restriction they had in the very beginning forever. Now it's up to you to continue letting your tool work for you. If you're the kind of person who can't have "a bite of this, a bite of that" without having terrible cravings come back, then just don't even have a little. Keep in mind that a bite of something may not have been enough to cause pain/dumping/vomiting, but it's entirely possible, even probably, that 2 bites of that same food will. I was so worried about these things in the beginning, because I had the same problem. Nothing really caused any issues, with a few exceptions like raw carrots and ground beef. Now, I'm almost a year out and I find that a bite here and there of something not great for me is actually the healthiest way to maintain for me. I generally eat perfectly healthy, with a bite of something I'm craving, and that's all. Then the craving is gone, and I move on. The amount of sugar/carbs/etc in whatever one bite of what I'm eating is negligible. If I were to try to be like I was the first six months post op, I would DEFINITELY fall off the wagon. Sometimes you have to satisfy the craving in a healthy way rather than ignore it until it has far more control over you than it should. Hope this helps in some way!

First, don't be too hard on yourself. You're only human, and part of being human is sometimes making mistakes even after making huge progress. You will get there again.
Second, I would highly recommend tracking your food with an app such as myfitnesspal. I'm betting you've done this before, but getting back to basics may be beneficial for you right now.
Are you seeing a therapist? Or maybe attending a support group? It sounds like you know what you're doing but just need a little help getting back on track. Check into both of those things if you aren't already. It can make a world of difference to have that extra support and accountability.
You'll get back to where you want to be! Be kind to yourself and remember why you've gone through all the hard work in the first place. Feel free to message me anytime if I can help at all, even just to lend an ear. I started above 400 pounds too. Good luck to you.
