    Feeling No Support

I will be completely open about it. My goal is to educate people that are naive and ignorant about WLS. People will always have opinions, but we have to deal with negativity in other ways too not just over WLS. Ultimately, though, you have to do what's right for you and whatever is going to help you on this journey. That's why forums like this are so important - we need the support that only comes from others going through the same thing. God bless :-)

I am so excited for you! I pray it goes quickly - the waiting game stinks!!

    Almost Approved!

    YEA!! That is so exciting!
  8. I called the insurance company this morning to check my status for approval and they told me that my file is at it's final destination before approval! I could get it this week! I am SO excited!
  9. Hi! You don't know me, but I did a search for patients of Dr. Veninga - I am using him as my surgeon as well :-)

  10. It's getting closer every day. I can't wait!!

    Almost Approved!

That is weird, isnt' it? I won't get mine until we get the approval. But they'll call the second they get the call from insurance and schedule.

    Almost Approved!

I'm so excited for all of us!

2 weeks out- missing my Tabasco!

I've been wondering about this too - I have a great recipe for a spicy enchilada soup that I can do during the full liquid stage, but I'm unsure if my tummy will be able to handle the heat!
  14. I agree - I'd look into a different surgeon. The one I'm going to has done a good amount, but also not so many that he's a "meat market" doc. I also agree with the hair loss issue - any surgery you have weather it be RnY, Sleeve, bypass, or lapband - hair loss is a very real possibility if not probability. That being said, I have to say that I appreciate the fact that you're doing your research - whatever you chose to do, I have a feeling you will be very well informed :-)

Please Follow My Journey On Youtube :)

I've got mine going too! :-)
  16. One of my closest friends had the RnY done and she regrets it and told me she wishes she'd done the sleeve instead. She has anemia, vitamin deficiencies, and IBS right now and she attributes it to the RnY.
  17. I will be doing a food funeral for sure: I plan on hitting my favorite buffet! Yum
  18. Soda in general - diet or regular - is bad for the body. It inhibits the ability to absorb water, the carbonation causes irritation to the stomach lining, and it has also been linked to ulcers, kidney problems, and other issues. Sure, ONE is okay every once in a while and it won't hurt you when done in moderation. But how many of us are on this board because we've done things "in moderation". Rather than preaching to people about research, maybe you should do some yourself ..?
  19. Loving this thread- this is what I'm doing now. Has anyone tried mixing any of these with water? I tried the bluebonnet whey protein in vanilla and it separated on me! Bleh!! Anyone use a magic bullet to mix theirs?
  20. I started a vlog - I'd been wanting to do one for a while and finally figured it out on my netbook, LOL. If you have a vlog or a blog of your own, please share, I love reading and watching other people's journeys as well!
  21. I'm going to be trying different shakes to see which ones I like best. Also going to start a semi full liquid diet this week to try to get my body acclimated to the new diet. Trying to train myself to chew and sip all day as well. And prayer: Lots of prayer.
  22. Thank you for this topic! This has been on my mind the last few days, for sure. I don't even have a date scheduled yet, and the waiting is really hard. These are some great ideas!
