Meal replacement shakes?
O.T.R. sleever replied to need2bthin!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do understand your logic, however there are "meal replacement" shakes & "protein" shake for example, Unjuty & Nectar are protein shakes, they deliver 20g of protein with 100calories Slimfast. Boost, Carnation, Ensure are meal replacement shakes. With these you will typically be consuming 400 calories to get the same 20 calories, but do have a mor complex nutritional profile. Also, they are marketed differently. One is a health & fitness supplement(protein) the other is a diet product. If you go to Walmart & ask to see the meal replacement shakes, you will not see protein drinks, as they are marketed on different aisles. -
You will get the best results from free weights. They force you to use your muscles equally. They also help to increase your balance. Plus free weights maintain resistance through the entire range of motion. There are some exercises that it really doesn't make much of a difference.

Keep in mind the study quoted in this report was RNY patients. In no way can VSG patients be compared. The surgeries are absolutely different.

Meal replacement shakes?
O.T.R. sleever replied to need2bthin!'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First off, I must clarify, we do not use meal replacement shakes, we use protein shakes or protein supplements. Meal replacements shakes more often then not are much higher calorie than we should be using. Now that I got that off my chest, I use Unjury, Syntrax Nectar, premier protein, & hemp protein. -
Slightly controversial drink (wine, spirit, beer) poll
O.T.R. sleever replied to Fiddleman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tequilla Slice of Fresh Papaya ¼oz. Agave nectar 1¼oz. Avión Añejo ½oz. Aperol ½oz. Orange juice ¾oz. Fresh Lime Juice Crush the papaya then add other ingredients shake with ice cubes then strain. Vodka 1½oz Tito's Handmade Vodka 1½-3oz cranberry juice Served on the rocks Whiskey 1½oz Crown Royal Maple 2oz tonic Twist of lime Served on the rocks 1½oz Pendleton 2oz ginger ale Served on the rocks Amaretto 3oz Disaronno twist lime squeeze lime Served on the rocks As a side note for all you vodka lovers. If you haven't tried Tito's, you are missing out. It is better than Goose, Absolut, Stolichnaya, and it's only 16 bucks for a fifth. Same goes for Crown lovers. Pendleton is smoother, taste cleaner & is cheaper. -

Has anyone lost and then regained ALL of their weight?
O.T.R. sleever replied to AussieLady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's going to be hard to find someone on this forum that fills that criteria. To gain "all" the weight back one would have to completely given up. Well, someone who has given up is not going to hang out here. We specialize in supporting all those who share our common goal & burning all quitters at the stake. This just wouldn't be a comfortable place for someone who has given up. -
Ideas for what to tell people?
O.T.R. sleever replied to BriDawn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Be honest. The problem with trying to twist the facts is you have to remember exactly what you told who, then your story will change a bit with each person you tell. Sooner or later the people you talk to will talk to each other, and with the differences in what each of them were told, they will figure out that you are hiding something. Then they will either assume the worst (you're dying and hiding it) or they will lose respect for you because they now consider you a liar. Additionally if gossip is a concern for you, the best way to thwart gossip is to lay it all out there yourself. -
Talk to your dr, early in healing phase (first 1-3 weeks) many prescriptions can be converted to liquid. For those that cannot, no, you don't have to crush "all" meds. Some medication absolutely should not be crushed because it is compounded to release a certain way from its whole state. I was able to take rather large Vitamins within 72hrs of surgery.

No, it is very unlikely that throwing up caused any damage. Now for 20 lashings with a wet noodle. You are less than 2weeks post op. although shrimp is very high Protein, it is also very fibrous and really should be avoided till you reach full foods. Plus this early out your stomach is still in shock and isn't communicating the full sensation as effectively as it should. It is very easy to overdo solid foods, thought you are not likely to actually harm yourself, for best results, stick to the plan. Hopefully I wasn't too hard on you.

Syntrax Nectar Caribbean Cooler
O.T.R. sleever replied to DonRodolfo's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
One of my favorite ways to use it is to mix it with a sugar free flavored drink. My preferred is 1L bottle spring water (high PH) .5-1 scoop Nectar fuzzy navel 1 ocean spray on-the-go cran-peach Plenty of good tasting Protein filled hydration. -
Just a quick note for anybody that uses chia regularly check out azchia.com , if you are willing to buy 9lbs at a time they have the best price I've found.

Syntrax's nectar line & unjury are the best. What criteria are you looking at? Best taste, price, highest quality?

Time for Payless. They'll be worn out in 6months, just in time for a good pair. -
