I told my office what I was doing.....I'm working on a better me and those of them that doesn't agree or want to talk behind my back can kiss my new small a$$....LOL!!

I was sleeved on Dec 10 as well haven't had any pain meds....I haven't gotten in as much fluids as I'm suppose to but trying, yesterday I tried Welch's Grape juice..it'd sugar content is high but its all natural sugar none added it help with my weakness.....give it try....if you have a Newks in your area go by and get some Soup sip on that.

I just received my approval from UHC this past Monday...waiting on a sugeon consult and trying to come up with the $3800 out of pocket expense...But I'm still very excited,

I actually found my weight management program to be very helpful preparing me for surgery. It was very informative and my dietition and nutritionist would put me on plans to prepare me for what was to come after surgery. Believe me i felt the same way, but i'd much rather me infomred educated and prepared verses just having the surgery and then having to learn what to do and not to do...
You will ultimately have to do whats best for you!

Time will fly...I just went to the doctor once a month and the nutrionist once.

I suggest Rogain for Men, be extremely careful, you will grow hair anywhere it drops. A friend of my had the lap band and her hair is coming out also. The dermatologist suggest rogaine for men; get the mouse its less mess; you should see results in 30 days. please let me know if help.

Nobody has been tracking the results of the sleeve as a WLS that long yet. Give it a bit more time. I'm not certain but when I was researching I think someone posted a five year study - you might do some searching and see if you can find anything on VST about it.
Regain is possible with any surgery. The big benefit the sleeve has over bypass (what most people are probably thinking of when they talk about regain) is that there isn't a honeymoon phase or window where loss is easiest. Once you're sleeved and healed, your capacity only increases a small amount. Unlike a short window where malabsoption is guaranteed, or a pouch that is likely to stretch (or a band that requires fills and unfills, for that matter), your sleeve is going to restrict you immediately after surgery and for the rest of your life.
I am two years out and maintaining beautifully. I'm currently pregnant and while I have hormone bloat and the start of a rounded tummy, I'm not having a problem with weight gain (nothing more than I'd expect at this point) despite the fact that my capacity is increased now that I'm pregnant.
All surgeries come with the risk of regain. Using the sleeve like a diet that will someday end is the biggest cause of regain I've seen - people just stop being diligent at goal and fall into denial about bad habits, ones they didn't fix while losing in the first place. That said, I have seen very few regain posts in the three years I've been here. I've seen plenty of "I got out of control over the holidays and gained a few but took it off quickly" posts, though. If you weigh daily in maintenance and actually learn how to eat like a healthy, normal person during the first few months post surgery, there is no reason you can't reach goal and maintain for life.

Yay for not giving up.....I haven't had surgery yet, but has done my homework on the sleeve. I think it's better for freestylers. I'm in my 4th for insurance approval. I am too very excited about the surgery.

This is going to be the best thing you have ever done for yourself. You'll just wish you've done it sooner. I had my sleeve done may 27 2011. Six months later I had lost 70-80 pounds. I have forgotten now. I was at 305 when I started. I'm now 198. I feel so great. A little pain initially. Nothing that bad. I went to dr. Alvarez in Mexico. I was terrified. The worst part was the plane trip down. I barely fit in the seat. Now I want to go go go. Good luck to you. Just follow the inital rules with the diet plan until your stomach heals and you'll be fine.

Hey u guys... Im new to this site... Ill be officially sleeved July 23rd 2012.. Starting weight was 225..Current weight is 217.. Goal weight is 140.. If anyone has any words of advice, or just any kind of encouragement please feel free to drop a message... Im extremely nervous and it makes it even worse when you dont have that family support...Other than my husband and mother everyone seems to be against it.. so any encouragement would be helpful...
