    Left overs not going down

I was stuck for the 1st and 2nd time in 6 months and both times were leftovers, they went down the first time okay but the second time was not so pretty.
  3. My fav was chicken with a bit of broth or no fat gravy in a blender with a bit of cheese. After 4 weeks on liquids it tasted like heaven.

    dr diet restrictions

I don't think of it as a diet but a lifestyle. If I could lose weight on a diet I wouldn't need surgery. There are certainly some guidelines like protein and drinking w meals, but other than that, I need to make healthy eating a choices my lifestyle, and can try anything, in moderation.
  5. 7 months out - 4 fills and minimal restriction. At 5 months out - 3 fills zero restriction. A few weeks ago you were probably still swollen from surgery. Trust me this is a marathon and no 2 people are alike. Listen to your body and be patient.

    ' PB-ing', What is it!?

My sliming was not vomited up, it just happens, fills your mouth and you have to spit it out..........not fun.

    ' PB-ing', What is it!?

I knew that the chicken was dry the first night I cooked it, added a bit of bbq sauce and it was okay. Leftovers the next day same thing....chicken was too dry. The thin crust pizza, might have been a case of not paying attention to small bites and chewing, since it was in the lunch room with other staff and we were chatting away. I don't know what has changed but I do know that I need to be focused and aware whenever I am chewing, so socializing and eating I need to be extra careful. The chicken, I should have thrown it out the first night, but I didn't. Both episodes were totally my fault. I did not vomit..........sliming is just that, saliva that is thick and slimey and you produce lost of it, need to spit it out. I am not sure when you got banded, but unless I am eating I have nothing that reminds me I have the band (except for the burping and farting but that is a whole other story), I can do anything, move in any direction and although am not a stomach sleeper, slept on my side the very first night after surgery. Hang in there and it will get better..........

Gas pain, incision problem and scared.

Gas pains lasted 3 months, on and off for me........getting up and walking helped the best. Congrats and good luck.

    Acid reflux

I haven't had one tum's, zanex or a hit of reflux or indigestion since the day I started my pre op. From what I understand nighttime reflux is a sign of something wrong with the band.........go see your dr.

    ' PB-ing', What is it!?

I was banded in Sept and have had 4 fills and just had my first stuck on Sunday, second one on Tuesday. Not pretty and not fun. For me I can totally feel it and then I get a sick feeling in my stomach like I will vomit. Lots of spitting up slime and I don't recall burping but Sunday it came up - with the slime, not a heaving vomit (sorry for the description) and Monday it went down. Not sure what has changed with my band as I am crawling and fairly discouraged with the progress or lack of in the last 7 months. Pure disappontment is the truth, I am exercising, following my eating guidelines, but am hungry and frustrated. Another fill tomorrow and I am sure I am close. Now have to watch the chicken and bread products a bit more diligently.

    Great West Life- Ontario

I am with Empire Life in Ontario to see if they would cover any parts of the surgery and no luck. Sucks we have to pay, but on the upside, I did get a huge income tax refund because of the surgery, make sure you keep all your receipts and document your travel, if you have to travel.

    Traveling?

I am a frequent flyer and travel way too much. I flew 10 days after being banded and many flights since and have never noticed 1 iota of anything band related. Have a great trip.
  15. Stool softener asap, my nurse call me the day after surgery and she stressed taking stool softeners as that could lead to a whole world of problems...........very common with painkillers and surgeries. You should probably also be getting off those pain meds....10 days post op!
