NenaLinda got a reaction from ShannonK in Its Offical Im In A Stall
I'm 2 weeks out and lost a rapid 20lbs and I'm at a stall!!! So I'm ok for now... It's been 3 days and no drop but I know their is no way this eating 500 calories a day will not equal weightloss. It just can't be mathematically correct... So I'm being patient.

You never regret eating healthy, you always regret eating unhealthy. I actually ate better before surgery to get my mind right. Salads and more salads. The weight will still take effort to come off and you will think back had I been this weight the day of surgery I would be this weight post op had I not went od.

I did that for a while, then ran out of steam. I nearly OD'd on soda and beer! But the foods you love... you aren't saying goodbye to them forever, just temporarily. Keep that in mind. And that you'll have to lose every pound you gain now!

Wow 12, I cant get past the sip and smell from the mango flavor. Straight vodka, rum, and beer always ends up on someone else so I stopped trying, lol. I guess one sip at a time will have to do it for the Protein, unless I find something else. quickly!

PMS is horrid and even the sleeve does override these urges.
Just want to echo previous statements. My sleeve wants sweets all the time, not just that time of the month. I have to say no but too often I give in. Don't follow me into the dark side.
As a dear friend tells me "it is not what you do right now, but want you do repeatedly"

CBT, I was fortunate enough not to have nausea at all. Didn't throw up once, so I'm very happy about that. I'm a week out from surgery. Everybody is different, so maybe you won't have nausea. happy recovery to all.

I'm just about 3 weeks out from surgery and I've lost 16 pounds post op, and 8 pounds preop, so a total of 24. Hoping to lose a couple more before my first month is over

What a person will lose is based on so many variables. Some people do low carb, high Protein during the pre-approval phase, so they already have a head start and lost their beginning Water weight. People with higher BMI's and more weight to lose and men will usually lose faster than women at first.
A lot of people lose weight steady and don't get the dreaded big stalls. A lot has to do with how much weight you have to lose.
Some people are built differently and are less "squishy" and have more muscle mass and tend to build muscle easily, I am one of those. Two people that weigh exactly the same, are the same height and eat the same thing, will not lose at the same rate because body types are different.
Many people gain weight after surgery due to the IV fluids, inflammation and swelling & gas. I had surgery at 229 and when I got home 6 days after surgery I was 235 and I had like 100 calories a day for 6 days lol.
The most important thing though is no matter what you weight, what body type you have, if you follow the rules and drink your Water and follow the nutritional plan, you will lose weight.
    Best of luck to you.

If you are that freaked out and not sure you can do it, I would definitely post-pone until you are physically, emotionally and mentally ready to handle the commitment.
Continue your research until you are sure.
Why not start working on the issues now. Sign up for myfitnesspal.com - try to stay at 800-1000 calories a day - change the settings so you are getting only 45-75 carbs a day, up your Protein to 80-90.
Drink 64 ounces of Water a day.
Try setting a goal of exercising or walking 30 minutes a day.
    Chart your food.
    Take a Vitamin.
Stop drinking fluids with your dinner and wait 1/2 hour after dinner before you drink.
Stop your caffeine - stop your carbonated beverages.
I was forced to do this pre-surgery during the 6 months pre-approval phase. I lost 60 pounds during this time and then I lost 10 during the 2 week pre-op shake. I thought wow, if I could lose 70 on my own, why have surgery. Well, because I want this to be my last diet. I want this to be a way of life.
The sleeve is only a tool. It's how you use it that counts. You are worried about hair loss? I have Lupus, it comes with the territory and I am blonde and I'm very very vain. You aren't going to go bald, you lose some hair...if that happens, I'll get my hair cut so it looks thicker for a while, and whatever, I'll wear hats, but I'm going to look good no matter what.
If you feel that you are worth putting 100% effort into your health for the rest of your life, then go for it, if you feel that this surgery would cause you too much stress, anxiety and affect you negatively than hold off on your decision and think about it.
If you are in a program, the surgeon isn't going to force you to have surgery, you can tell him I need another month - and continue doing your pre-approval stuff.
This is a one way ticket though, once you have the surgery there is no turning back. Go into the sleeve 100% committed and it makes recovering, the new stuff you need to learn about eating so much easier.
    Best of luck to you.

Some times to get things you've never had before, you have to do things you've never done before.
I was scared too, not that I'd miss food, because my relationship with food had to change, but about death and complications. After joining this forum, I decided that the benefits outweighed those risk. Im tired of being fat, and unhealthy.
I'm 4weekss out, 29lbs down, I quit smoking for this surgery, and I feel solo much better already. My body feels good and my mind is not as dark and dank as it was pre surgery. I feel alive, ands it's only been a month.
The beginning is not easy, no one is saying that, but it does get better. You got to decide what's the end result worth to you

I had surgery July 5th and if I see food it comes to mind I wish I could have it but I know I can't. Plus honestly I'm not even hungry. chicken broth is so soothing to eat and goes down so nice and warm I am shocked you have the want to eat/hunger. We need to pay attention to our stomach not our brains we can get thru this

Sounds like WAY too much to me. You are only 3 days out! At this point I was on liquids only, so no banana or yogurt. I was lucky to get in one Protein Shake, sipped on throughout the day, sips of Water, and maybe 1/2 cup of broth total split into about 3 servings. Your stomach has just undergone a MAJOR trauma, and you have a very fresh staple and suture line; please do not overdue it and risk tearing it!
I say this out of pure concern and not to be rude, but how can you be already mourning over food and wanting a chicken strip? You are only 3 days out, you have a very long road ahead of you. I can honestly say that I did not mind being on the liquid and mushy phases, I knew it was all temporary and part of the process. I think it is a little concerning that you are already, at this early stage, thinking about what you can't have. Enjoy the process, it does work. I hope you do not take offense to this, I truly do mean it out of support. I think a positive attitude has everything to do with our success. Good luck to you, and remember we are all here to help when we can
