    Tennessee, Anyone?

The weather in Memphis is nicer year round than Chicago. Humidity in summer after rain sucks.....one thing that freaked me out when I first moved here, it rained in the summer and steam was coming off the ground. I don't think I can stomach Chicago winters anymore. Winter in Memphis is cool as long as we don't get an ice storm, for some reason everything freezes instead of slushing like up north.

    Tennessee, Anyone?

Chatt, Knox, and Nashville are really nice areas. I moved from Chicago to Memphis, so pretty much anywhere is a far cry better. There are very nice areas in Memphis as well.
  5. Honey you just spoke a word there lol. I hope I can get rid of the dark discoloration down there from all the rubbing. I'm extremely light and would really hate that.

    African American Sleevers

Congrats ChiChi, wishing you a speedy recovery. Can't wait to join you guys! Littlebits glad to see you are doing well. Was it as bad or as good as you thought it'd be? All the best to you.
  7. I can't wait to get out and experience life, not wanting to stay inside all day. Can't wait not to hear, you have such a pretty face....... Can't wait to not bribe my kids to stay inside the house, so I don't feel like sudden death is upon me. Looking forward to riding roller coasters and never having to walk the walk of shame again. Going swimming with my family. Can't wait to not feel guilty for never wanting to go out with hubby because of my insecurities. Looking forward to cooking meals in lingerie for hubby. Can't wait to jog 16 laps with hubby and it actually be fun. I also want to join the law enforcement with my hubby and double our income. There are so many more.......

    Relationship Help

Remember the grass isn't always greener on the other side, and marriage takes unbelievably hard work. Marriage goes through seasons, but selfishness is not an option. My 10 year anniversary is in a few weeks and we began under some of the same circumstances with our first child. We have since the first child added 3 more. During the rough times remember what made you fall in love with her. Shower her with sweet nothings, no woman can resist that. She is carrying your seed which should make her beauty paramount above all the mood swings. I believe you guys will make it with some effort. P.s don't let the attention blow your head up

    Tennessee, Anyone?

I just would love to talk to someone who's been through it. Maybe workout together, I dunno.
  11. I'm the type of person that tries to see things from both sides before I react. This has taken years to shape.....lol. Congrats on the weightloss and keep up the good work.
  12. I came across this video regarding weight loss and friendships, what so you guys think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKyjACcL_g0&feature=youtube_gdata_player If the link is broken you can to on YouTube, her name is USlbgirl
  13. Congrats, you'll progress with each passing day I'm sure, that's what ice been reading. I'm coming looking for you here once I'm sleeved. Best wishes to you in your recovery.
  14. I've had four c-sections and outside of the first one they were a breeze. The key for me was getting up walking. I've also had laparoscopic surgery to remove my gallbladder, now that surgery sat me down. I'm hoping the sleeve surgery is nothing like the latter. I'm so scared about the gas pain and having a bunch of little scars on my belly from the surgeries, hopefully they can sort of use the same ones. All the best to you all in your journeys.

    Marriage After Being Sleeved.....

Oh Stein no feathers ruffled here, it has taken a long time for me to see myself. I don't have any health issues that prevented me, just bad choices. I agree with you from your perspective.
  16. So I've heard the divorce rate for WLS patients is kinda high and it had me thinking. My weight became an issue in my marriage for a while and I didn't care. After years of soul searching and added co morbidities I get the big picture now......my husband lately, since I am getting closer to getting a surgery date, keeps making these random comments about me changing afterwards. Now, mind you he's been on my butt about changing my lifestyle and getting healthier, he's a health freak. He also says things like "if you'd do what I tell you as it pertains to my workout I could have you 100lbs lighter by Christmas. He is an ex marine and a police officer, so he's been running and working out most of his life, I can't endure his treacherous workout. After saying all that I know he wants me to lose the weight but I am confused by his comments. Not rooting my own horn but when I was smaller 10yrs ago when I met him I had to beat men off with a stick and he saw that, I'm wondering if that's it. Hmmm I don't know but, I gotta do me......

    Marriage After Being Sleeved.....

Agreed, it all goes hand in hand. For me it was a cop out for me not to do what I needed to do. I want my husband to be running to car outta work to get home to mama! Bwahaha

    Marriage After Being Sleeved.....

You are so right, we are doing this for ourselves, our families just benefit greatly from it.

    Marriage After Being Sleeved.....

The key difference between the two situations are vast, one can be avoided the other could not. Does my husband love me unconditionally, absolutely, is it right for me to sit around and let life happen to me or get up out of my pity party and do something about it. Now out of my hubbys own mouth he has said if I had a medical condition that prevented me from losing weight it'd be an entirely different story. Don't both parties deserve to be happy in a marriage? Imo extreme weight gain prevents couples from doing a lot, is the other person required to stop living because of the others negligence of their bodies. Negligence and tragedy are two totally different things. This is a reality I had to face myself, if I had taken care of my business as soon as I saw things going on a way I didn't like I would have never ballooned up to this weight. If you have a person who wants to obtain a law degree, but doesn't put nearly the amount of work into their studies to be successful, and they come crying to you about their failure, what will be your response to them. Even after being sleeved one must exercise their will to "not be obese" through their lifestyle point blank or all this will have been for naught. This is my reality which fuels my change.

    Marriage After Being Sleeved.....

Well said Sweet Tee, this change is for my family as well I have four active little children that inherited their fathers athleticism. I want him to understand I'm not doing this for attention from anyone else but him but most importantly for my health, confidence, and to be a partner to the best of my ability.
