I started this journey in May of 2012, when my doctor (PCP) who I love, love, love, weighed me in at 334 lbs. I decided to pursue lap band and was excited for the journey. I then found out that my insurance wouldn't pay for it and it was a choice between paying for that or school and school won out. I got down to 307 on my own and discovered a few medical issues along the way. I got married in October to a wonderful man that I have known since I was 15, and we moved. Now I have an insurance issue and to make me happy they are willing to pay for bypass. I am NOT getting my hopes up again but I am taking even more control back where my health is concerned. We just upped my hypothyroid meds and put me on metformin for pre-diabetes treatment and now I am waiting to see how the appointments and insurance pan out. In the meantime I went back up to 320 and am now back down to 315. I want to make sure my BMI is low enough for surgery so there can be NO excuses for me to start living the life I have denied myself for the last 15 years.
